49:20 “There’s a scripture that says ‘when you have done all these different things that is such is your reasonable service.’ … When you get to the height of heights, there’s no reason for you to take any credit for it or feel like you did something because that’s just your reasonable service.
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. – Rom. 12:1
II 7:50 Most “worship” today is “entertainment worship,” people watching but not worshiping.
11:40 “People don’t want straight truth anymore. They want the ear tickling stuff”
Glorious, anointed, resting-in-God song from 1975 that I was blessed to experience as a young Christian! Christian music was awesome then, and will again be someday, when ‘ONE’ happens “that the world will know” (Jesus’ prayer in John 17)!
I was able to see Chuck a few years later, while attending the University of Minnesota — just him and a piano in the student union.
“Unmistakable background from Annie, Nell and Matthew.”
Four videos below:
Abide (Paul Clark)
The more I go on with you Lord
I find that I cannot afford
To stay away from your side
It’s in the Vine I’ll Abide
Your words are truth and life to me
They cleanse and sanctify me
I know it’s power can’t be denied
It’s in the Vine I’ll Abide
A child of God I know I am
I’ve been washed in the precious blood of the Lamb
But I haven’t touched the hole in His side
But in the vine I’ll Abide
To bring forth fruit this is my aim
And give the glory to Your name
To do the same you must decide
If in the Vine you’ll Abide
Jesus is the Vine
“Gotta Serve Somebody”
by Bob Dylan
You may be a preacher with your spiritual pride
You may be a city councilman taking bribes on the side
You may be working in a barbershop, you may know how to cut hair
You may be somebody’s mistress, may be somebody’s heir
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody, yes
You’re gonna have to serve somebody
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody
Peaceful — special!
“Shout To The Lord”
by Darlene Zschech
My Jesus, my Savior,
Lord, there is none like You;
All of my days
I want to praise
The wonders of Your mighty love.
My comfort, my shelter,
Tower of refuge and strength;
Let every breath, all that I am
Never cease to worship You.
Shout to the Lord, all the earth,
Let us sing
Power and majesty, praise to the King;
Mountains bow down and the seas will roar
At the sound of Your name.
I sing for joy at the work of Your hands,
Forever I’ll love You, forever I’ll stand,
Nothing compares to the promise I have in You.
This seems to be from this concert, the last song, which was live At Bayside Church, Roseville, CA. I was disappointed by the lack of reverence in this concert, the K-LOVE ladies and Brewster’s jokes. It wasn’t very anointed, but this is the only live performance I can find of Brewster doing this song.
Love the Lord, your God, with all your heart
With all your soul, with all your mind
And with all your strength
With all your heart, with all your soul
With all your mind, with all your strength
I will serve the Lord with all my heart
With all my soul, with all my mind
And with all my strength
I will love You (I will love You)
I will praise You (I will praise You)
I will serve You (I will serve You)
I will trust You (I will trust You)
Oh Lord my God in You I put my trust
Oh Lord my God in You I put my hope
Oh Lord my God in You I put my trust
Oh Lord my God in You I put my hope
In You In You I find my peace
In You In You I find my strength
In You I live and move and breathe
Let everything I say and do
Be founded by my faith in You
I lift up holy hands and sing
Let the praises ring!
Oh Lord my God to You I give my hands
Oh Lord my God to You I give my feet
Oh Lord my God to You I give my everything
Oh Lord my God to You I give my life
I just found this incredible song yesterday, Christmas day 2019, surprised and disappointed that it’s been out for years, as I love this complex and powerful Trans-Siberian Orchestra style, and Jeff Beck tones!
“Miraculum” is an amazing three-movement instrumental incorporating these five songs in what appears to me to mainly be in this order until the complicated ending: “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,” “We Three Kings,” “O Come O Come Emmanuel,” “Carol of the Bells” and “O Holy Night.”
The photographer shot it with a Canon 6D with 70-200mm f2.8L lens, zoomed to 200mm, using the internal mic, and with tired arms, he says — difficult to hold the telephoto steady.
How can an acoustic version come even close to Brewster’s amazing electric masterpiece?
Though definitely not as awe inspiring and moving to me, some may less aggressive approach. Delightful is the quiet, pin-drop section in the center, followed by a majestic ending; though, not reaching the heights of the electric version.
Emmanuel, Emmanuel.
Wonderful, Counselor!
Lord of life, Lord of all;
He’s the Prince of Peace, Mighty God, Holy One!
Emmanuel, Emmanuel.
Slow and powerful!
Jittery, tinny sounding, but anointed — heart and soul!
Especially kicks in at 3:45!
