Counselor Paul Meier meierclinics.com explains how most ‘Christians’ have deceived hearts, and often aren’t even aware of what they are doing, which would in part explain why some ‘Christians’ James-3 curse people, unaware.
The host asks:

Why is it so important to be honest about the part we may have played in troubled or failed relationships?

Paul Meier responds:

“Let me start with Jeremiah 17:9. Jeremiah the prophet said that our hearts…are deceived more than anything in the universe. The most deceitful thing in God’s universe is our own hearts.

So 80% of our thoughts, feelings and motives, we’re not even aware of.

“Then Matthew 7:3-5 says: so we’re blind to our faults, and we don’t admit them to ourselves or anybody else.

Jer. 17:9 (KJVS) The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
Matt. 7:3 (WEB) Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but don’t consider the beam that is in your own eye?
