Jesus prayed we'd be 'ONE' with each other in Him that the world will know! (John 17)

How Many Will Be in Heaven? How Many are Finding the WAY? Only 1 in 40 — 2.5%?!!

Howard Pittman was told this 2.5% figure at the gate of heaven 30 years ago (having died on the way to the hospital) — before once-saved-always-saved was mainstream, before internet porn even existed, before the low-cut-top epidemic hit America, when more people were honest, and hate and anger wasn’t off the charts.

The figure may be less than 2.5% now.

How many will be in Heaven ?

The Bible gives us a clue below when it says that: “few there be that find it.”  We might ask, how few ?

Mat 7:13 Enter ye in at [through] the strait [the narrow] gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way [road], that leadeth to destruction [leads to eternity in Hell], and many there be which go in [enter] thereat [through it]:

Mat 7:14 Because strait [small] is the gate, and narrow is the way [road], which leadeth unto life [leads to eternity in Heaven], and few there be [only a few] that find it.

Since the Bible suggests comparing a narrow way (road) with a broad way (road) to get the answer, let’s quantify this example.

A narrow way or road such as a single lane country road may be only about 10 feet wide.

A broad way or road such as an urban expressway with numerous lanes going both ways can easily be about 400 feet wide.

The ratio in this example is on the order of 1 in 40 (400 divided by 10).  How many will be in Heaven?  This example would conclude that only about 1 in 40 goes to Heaven.

Few (1 in 40) there be that find it (eternity in Heaven).

This is only about 2.5% of the world’s population making it to heaven.

Many (the other 39, or 97.5%) go to destruction (eternity in Hell).

Let’s examine another example.  On August 3, 1979, Howard Pittman describes (in his booklet “Placebo”) his near-death experience.  While the physicians were working on him, he suffered physical death.

During this death interval, he was permitted to watch 50 saints (true Christians) enter Heaven.  It was explained to him that “at the same time those 50 saints died on Earth, 1950 other humans also died; or only 50 out of 2000 made it into Heaven.  The other 1950 were not there.”

The ratio in this example is also 1 in 40 (2000 divided by 50).

Based on this example, only about 1 in 40 is going to Heaven.  (50 in 2000)

That’s about 2.5% (saints, true Christians) going to heaven, and 97.5% going somewhere else.

hi jeff, i have been reading your information about who goes to heaven. I think you have done an excellant job makig it clear what the bible teachs about who goes to heaven. I am having a spiritual crisis that I would reaaly like your insite on. I have alwasyy believed the basic beleive in Jesus and that he died for my sins and repnet and do not sinany more and I get to go to heaven. As I am getting older I am realizing I know it takes more, so I have been studying everythingi can find to find the trueth. And when I say everything I mean I am studying anything any one tells me to read or wants to talk to me about. In my searching I have read some material from the Jehovahs witnesses that say ony 144,000 go to heaven , and when I asked one of them about all the scriptures from the new testament where Jesus talks about going to heaven and they said that Jesus was not talking to the general public
He was talkking to the disiples and they were part of the 144,000. I woud love to here your view on this. i am truely trying to find the trueth. Iknow you only get one shot at this, and I know that if I seek I will find, and If I kknock the door will be opened.
    sincerely

      Hi April,
I’m really glad to hear that my teaching has helped you understand more of what the Bible teaches on who goes to heaven. This is a really big deal. Most evangelicals act like Luther figured it out so we don’t have to research what the Bible really says to make sure we have been taught the truth. Even though Luther couldn’t even reconcile Paul’s teaching with James.’ And in reality, couldn’t even reconcile Paul with Paul.
Regarding the Jehovah’s Witnesses, I’ve had a number of encounters with them. Most won’t talk to me. They’re programed to believe what they’re spoon fed to believe through the magazine and others who also read the magazine. I just found this from Jehovah’s Witness Beliefs:

Members who are found to be unrepentant of violations of Watchtower rules by these elders, are disfellowshipped. Jehovah’s Witnesses can be disfellowshipped for a number of rule violations: premarital or extramarital sex, using alcohol excessively, using tobacco products, celebrating Christmas, reciting the pledge of allegiance, lying, stealing, joining the military, speaking to a disfellowshipped Witness, reading religious material not published by the governing body, or running for political office just to name a few. Fellow members are then required to shun him/her completely, having no contact even if the disfellowshipped person is a family member.

They’re called a cult for very important reasons, and have many very deceptive doctrines, which really are doctrines of demons. You say you’re in a “spiritual crisis.” I’ve been in a few of those, but not for about 30 years. The last I can remember was when a Jehovah’s Witness was trying to convince me that Jesus wasn’t God in the early ’80s. I could actually feel fear. I think this is because they will often pray (James-3 curse) people into believing their false doctrines. But many evangelicals do the same, pushing their own doctrines of demons like once-saved-always-saved, tithing, etc.. But some JWs are very persistent.
It’s interesting to see how deceptive their own Bible is. And just the fact they have to have their own Bible should be a total red flag for everyone, including themselves. This is from Stumpers for the Jehovah’s Witnesses:

      2. Can You Trust the New World Translation?

The New World Translation (NWT), the JWs’ own Bible version, was created between 1950-61 in several parts, beginning with New Testament (NT). The translation was made by an “anonymous” committee, which transliterated and altered passages that were problematic for earlier JWs. Nathan Knorr, Fred Franz, Albert Schroeder, George Gangas, and Milton Henschel were later identified as the men that created the text, which is used by no other sect. Franz studied non-biblical Greek for two years, and taught himself Hebrew. The rest had no formal training in any biblical language. The text of the NWT is more of a transliteration to fit theological presumptions than it is a true translation. This can be seen in key verses that the WTS changed in order to fit its doctrines.

To undermine the divinity of Christ in John 1:1, the NWT reads, ” . . . the word was a god.” Non-JW Greek scholars call this “a shocking mistranslation,” “incorrect,” “monstrous,” and “evidence of abysmal ignorance of the basic tenets of Greek grammar.” Furthermore, Col. 1:15-17 has been changed to “… by means of him all [other] things were created.” If the text were left as the original Greek reads, it would clearly state that Jesus created all things. However, the WTS cannot afford to say that anyone but Jehovah created all things, so it inserted the word “other” four times into the text.

The 1950, 1961, and 1970 editions of the NWT said that Jesus was to be worshipped (Heb. 1:6), but the WTS changed the NWT so that later editions would support its doctrines. The translators now decided to render the Greek word for “worship” (proskuneo) as “do obeisance” every time it is applied to Jesus, but as “worship” when modifying Jehovah. If the translators were consistent, then Jesus would be given the worship due to God in Matthew. 14:33, 28:9, 28:17, Luke 24:52, John 9:38, and Hebrews 1:6.

At the time of the Last Supper, there were over three dozen Aramaic words to say “this means,” “represents,” or “signifies,” but Jesus used none of them in his statement, “This is my body.” Since the WTS denies the Catholic teaching on the Eucharist, they have taken the liberty to change our Lord’s words to “This means my body” in Matthew 26:26.

The NWT also translates the Greek word kurios (“Lord”) as “Jehovah” dozens of times in the NT, despite the fact that the word “Jehovah” is never used by any NT author. It should also be asked why the NWT does not translate kurios as “Jehovah” in Romans 10:9, 1 Corinthians 12:3, Philippians 2:11, 2 Thessalonians 2:1, and Revelation 22:21. If it did translate kyrios consistently, then Jesus would be Jehovah!

Regarding only supposedly going to heaven, I tend to focus on what the Bible says about who goes. I also find the current percentage very interesting, but what the final number is doesn’t matter to us as long as we’re truly abiding in Christ, qualified according to what the Bible clearly says about who goes.
Also, I was taught this, and have not found a reason to think otherwise. This is from Who Are the 144,000 of Revelation 7 and 14?, which I think you’d find worthwhile reading.

Logically, the Watchtower people must exclude the “great multitude, which no man could number” (7:9) from heaven. This group, they allege, represents the “earthly class.” That is not so. This multitude was described as “standing before the throne” (7:9), which is in heaven (1:4; 4:2-10). Furthermore, these saints “before the throne” were serving God in “his temple” (7:15). Elsewhere John comments that “the temple of God . . .is in heaven” (11:19).

      And this article states this:

They believe that only 144,000 people are going to make it into heaven. They actually believe that most of the 144,000 out of their group are already in heaven. The rest of the Jehovah’s Witnesses still living can only hope to inherit the earth, not actually make it into heaven, since this is only reserved for the special 144,000 chosen ones.

Perhaps this is a key reason why they are so adamant in insisting that there is no literal hell. Those who don’t go to heaven just live on Earth, which is another huge deception. They say how could God send people to burn in Hell, when it is us who exclude ourselves from heaven. Stumpers for the Jehovah’s Witnesses says this:

      5. Is Hell Real or Not?

The WTS also maintains that everlasting punishment is a myth and a lie invented by Satan. Hell is merely mankind’s common grave, and is definitely not a fiery torture, according to them.

According to Scripture, if one is in hell, “he shall be tormented with fire and sulfur . . . the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever, and day and night they have no rest” (Rev. 14:11). This is an “everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels” (Matt. 25:41). Jesus tells his listeners of Lazarus and the rich man, where the rich man dies, and is “existing in torment . . . he sees . . . calls out . . . ‘I am in anguish in this blazing fire’” (Luke 16:19-31). As a further illustration, Jesus stated that hell is likened to Gehenna. This “Valley of Hinnom” was located southeast of Jerusalem, and was used as a garbage dump where trash and waste were continuously burned day and night in a large fire. Jesus informs the listeners that hell is like this, “where the maggot does not die, and fire is not put out” (Mark 9:42-48). It is the place where the wicked are sent, and from this “everlasting fire” (Matt. 18:8) will come “weeping and the gnashing of teeth” (Matt. 8:12). Now if hell were “a place of rest in hope” as the WTS teaches, then it is odd that Jesus would choose such contradictory illustrations to convey this. Lastly, Revelation 20 calls hell a “pool of fire . . . [where] they will be tormented day and night, forever and ever”—all who are not in the book of life. So, if one’s name is in the book of life, one enters heaven (Rev. 21:27). If it not in the book, then a literal hell awaits.

Jehovah’s Witnesses also pretty much diss the Holy Spirit. Many evangelicals do too, but apparently for them it’s mainly because they don’t believe in the Trinity.
Jehovah’s Witnesses cult is a huge deception. They’re programmed to believe what they’re taught from headquarters, and then parrot this propaganda to others, door to door. They go door to door actually trying to convince people that Jesus isn’t God. And of course, they’ll pray that listeners will believe their doctrines of demons, which is James-3 cursing. They are demonically influenced, and then are demon driven to pray demonic prayers. Many evangelicals do the same.
Besides researching to find out what really is true, I recommend praying in tongues, which I often talk about in this site. This is a tremendous gift to help yourself be free. You can even pray for them in tongues. I’ve done this many times. I explain this here: I’ve finally shared much of what I know about and what can be done through the TREMENDOUS and mostly misunderstood and underused gift of tongues. A reader thankfully put me over the edge : )

I have an entire category called Praying Perfectly in Tongues, that can be accessed in the pull-down menu, top right, if you’re interested.
Our warfare isn’t against flesh and blood, but against [demons].
It’s my opinion that many of the Jehovah’s Witnesses are well meaning people, but they’re in big trouble with God, going door to door teaching people false doctrines even about Jesus, Himself and the Holy Spirit. But I also don’t really say much about them here (at least so far). I think once the Third Great Awakening happens many of them, if not most will realize their errors and will come to the knowledge of the truth.
I rest in this hope for them. But we really have to get the revival going or many more will perish to really find out that Hell does exist. Yuck!
      I hope this helps,
      Jeff
