“Paul never glamorized the gospel. It is not success, but sacrifice! It’s not a glamorous gospel, but a bloody gospel, a gory gospel, and a sacrificial gospel! Five minutes inside eternity and we will wish that we had sacrificed more, wept more, bled more, grieved more, loved more, prayed more, given more”

Eternity meaning Hell or Heaven?
Jeff Fenske
Betty,
Interesting question.
I think Leonard is definitely thinking of heaven, where he knew he’d be going, because he was a real, going-to-heaven Christian.
I think what he is referring to is that if we get to heaven (like Leonard, I am convinced that most won’t unless they really abide in Christ), we’ll be like ‘WOW, what was I thinking’ — when I wasted so much time in my home that was only fleeting, acting like it was the real thing that would last.
The people in hell, on the other hand, will be in utter horror of what they did and did not do.
The other question is are there even regrets in heaven?
I really don’t know the answer to that, but I do know that if we’d live in the reality that Jesus lived in while on earth we would be so much more like him that nothing could change our direction even in the slightest — and we would be in God and He would be in us — and the world would be so aware … John 17 realized!

Thanks for the comment!
