Most pastors, today, have become confidence men, twisting Paul’s words to fit Luther’s ‘only believe,’ once-saved-always-saved doctrine, instead of faithfully teaching the narrow way that leads to eternal life and ‘ONE’ happening — “that the world will know” (Jesus’ plan and desire revealed in John 17).

We need to be faithful to the text, regardless of what people want to hear.

2 Corinthians 4:1-2

Therefore seeing we have this ministry, even as we obtained mercy, we don’t faint. But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by the manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.
