David Pawson, transcribed by me:
“I have noticed this, that people who believe in ‘once saved always saved’ believe it because they’ve listened to someone who taught it. I’ve met many people who’ve only got their Bible, particularly the people in prison, for example, and with only the Bible they all come out on the other side. They’ve read in their Bible warnings that you can lose your faith.
In fact, I’ve discovered there are 80 passages in the New Testament that warn us not to lose what we’ve found in Christ. And when you look up those 80 passages it’s pretty impressive. Every writer in the New Testament has a warning somewhere, or a statement that we need to continue in faith, and not just start in faith.”
“Paul has some very clear statements. In Romans 11, which preachers rarely quote, it says: ‘if you do not continue in His kindness you too will be cut off.'”
QUESTION: “So what do you say to those Christians who say to you ‘God isn’t a liar. If God says my name is written in the Lamb’s book of life, He’s not going to at some point in the future get a rubber and rub my name out.'”
PAWSON: “Yes, he is, and the Bible says that. In Revelation, in one of the letters to the churches [Sardis – Rev. 3:1-6]: ‘He who overcomes, I will not rub out of the book of life.’ And the book of life is mentioned four times in the Bible, and three of those times concern names rubbed out.”

David Pawson Interview on “Once Saved Always Saved?”
Published on Jan 28, 2013
On the Revelation TV series ‘Heroes of the Faith’, Gordon Pettie
interviews David Pawson.
In these three interviews, David responds in a fluent and concise
manner to the questions put to him, drawing on his wealth of
knowledge and experience and giving Biblical insight on the following topics:
• The Bible itself
• The relevance of the statement ‘once saved, always saved?’
• Marriage and Divorce
The interviews are approximately 30mins each and would be excellent for Bible study groups and discussion.

David shares how the Lord called him an “Underliner” and then explained …. “You won’t say much to people that is new to them, but you will underline what I’m already saying to them, and that will help them do something about it.”
So true. The first time I ever heard David Pawson speak, he underlined many things the Lord taught me through Scriptures early on with my walk with the Lord — but had let slip over decades of listening and following teachers who ‘cut and paste’ the Bible to fit many of their preconceived ideas. Thankful for this brother in Christ.

Wonderful!
I wish I would have found David earlier. Not many pastors saying it like it is, these days — and saying what we need to hear.
The church is way out of balance, scarily so.

I feel the same way. First time I heard David was via IHOP conference online May of 2010 on Israel, The Church and End Times. His book ‘Unlocking The Bible’ has called his ‘legacy to the church’ and I would agree.
