Marijuana dulls consciences so they no longer recognize the Holy Spirit’s warnings, causing many Christians to be prodigal — instead of dealing with, and overcoming our sins now so we can spend eternity in heaven.

We don’t need drugs when we have a clear conscience and a clean heart, like Paul always made sure he had:

“..I also practice ALWAYS having a CONSCIENCE VOID OF OFFENSE toward God and MEN.” (Acts 24:16)

“And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit” (Eph. 5:18)

JESUS WANTS OUR JOY TO BE FULL!

Jesus’ prayer in John 17 — “that they may have MY JOY MADE FULL IN THEMSELVES … THAT THE WORLD MAY KNOW!”

13 But now I come to you, and I say these things in the world, that they may have MY JOY MADE FULL IN THEMSELVES. … 17 SANCTIFY THEM IN YOUR TRUTH. Your word is truth. …that they themselves also may be SANCTIFIED IN TRUTH. 20 Not for these only do I pray, but for those also who will believe in me through their word, 21 THAT THEY MAY ALL BE ONE; even as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be ONE IN US; THAT THE WORLD MAY BELIEVE that you sent me. 22 THE GLORY WHICH YOU HAVE GIVEN ME, I HAVE GIVEN TO THEM; THAT THEY MAY BE ONE, EVEN AS WE ARE ONE; 23 I in them, and you in me, that they may be PERFECTED INTO ONE; *THAT THE WORLD MAY KNOW* that you sent me and loved them, even as you loved me. 24 Father, I desire that they also whom you have given me be with me where I am, THAT THEY MAY SEE MY GLORY, which you have given me, for you loved me before the foundation of the world. …THAT THE LOVE WITH WHICH YOU LOVED ME MAY BE IN THEM, and I in them.”

Jesus’ goal in John 15 — “that MY JOY may remain IN YOU, and that YOUR JOY MAY BE MADE FULL”

4 “REMAIN IN ME, and I in you. As the branch can’t bear fruit by itself, unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me. 5 I AM THE VINE. You are the branches. He who remains in me, and I in him, the same BEARS MUCH FRUIT, for apart from me you can do nothing. 6 IF A MAN DOESN’T REMAIN IN ME, he is THROWN OUT as a branch, and is withered; and they gather them, throw them INTO THE FIRE, and they are BURNED. If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, you will ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you. 8 “In this is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit; and so you will be my disciples. 9 Even as the Father has loved me, I also have loved you. Remain in my love. 10 IF YOU KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS, you will remain in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and remain in his love. 11 I have spoken these things to you, that MY JOY may remain IN YOU, and that YOUR JOY MAY BE MADE FULL.”
