Jesus prayed we'd be 'ONE' with each other in Him that the world will know! (John 17)

'Christian' Leaders James-3 Cursing People Example: Jesse

Here is my transcription of what Jesse Duplantis preached in a large meeting. This message, The Four Dimensions of Life, ©1998, is still available as video tape JV-66 at https://www.jdmstore.org/ps-275-3-the-four-dimensions-of-life.aspx.
This is an example of a preacher honestly admitting he’s wished evil on others while being a minister of the Gospel, and then admitting he was wrong in doing so. Jesse lays out the logic of his thinking, which I think is common among ‘Christians’ today, but most aren’t as candid as Jesse: “And the Lord said: ‘vengeance is mine.’ I said, ‘no, no, let it be mine, You take too long.”
This is a very serious form of reverse-Christianity, and is significant way that many people (including church leaders) control other people—through demonic power. God won’t answer prayers like these—Satan does.
This is absolutely a salvation issue. It’s no laughing matter. See: Who-Goes-To-Heaven Scriptures. We must be holy—and that’s where the joy is too!!!

“I attack my wife sometimes. People call it an ‘attack,’ but it’s not, cause me and Cathy have a great marriage…, but this woman has great vengeance. I was preaching not long ago, this beautiful woman. She knows I’m very funny about my hygiene. …

While I’m preaching under the anointing power of the Holy Ghost, Cathy looks at me and goes [Jesse points to his nose. He thought she was showing him that he had a ‘b______’ on his nose]…. Then my wife says…: ‘you don’t have a b______.’ [He gives a scowled glare.] And I thought of: ‘bless God, when I get off this platform….’

And the Lord said: ‘vengeance is mine.’ I said, ‘no, no, let it be mine, You take too long. You take too long.’ You know how God is, He’s so merciful, He’s going to save somebody you don’t like. You know He’s going to do it. He’s going to save your mother-in-law and you’re asking God to send her to hell.

My mother-in-law is a blessing right now, but boy, ooh ooh, Lord! I really thought, years ago, that if my mother-in-law went to hell, she’d have made it hell for the Devil. That was ooh ooh ooh! But that was my fault because I didn’t want her to go to heaven. I was wrong. I didn’t want her to go. I said, ‘if you bring that women, you’re going to ruin it for me,’ really. But I had to set my [‘life right,’ maybe? Words jumbled]. Now we have the greatest relationship because she wasn’t wrong, I was wrong.”

  1. LOL. Jesse was making a point , using humor. Sure, he did admit to it, I was even in some of his meetings where he enumerated those incidents, but that was not the attitude that he kept towards those folks.
I understood what he meant, and I can tell the difference between a heart that wanted God to help him with his enemies. Jesse was just being funny.

BTW I adopted a three-year-old, male Siberian husky three weeks ago. His name is “Zev.”

    Fred,
Jesse’s point was that his heart was not even one that could wish she would go to heaven when she died. In fact, he indicated he was wishing the exact opposite.
I can’t imagine wishing that someone would go to hell, no matter what they’ve done to me or anyone else. This is sin. And many people are sick and even dead because of ‘Christian’ curses—thinking they have a right to judge.
And Fred, laughter and joking has its place. But James-3 cursing people who are made in God’s image is not funny, and it’s destroying the church and this country. Preachers need to lead us into repentance, not ‘repeatance.’ [Someone you know well coined this term, if I’m not mistaken.]
What we have is too much laughter right now, when most ‘Christians’ aren’t even clean enough to go to heaven themselves. I call this Partysville: “I’m okay; you’re okay; let’s move on,” unchanged, joking about things that are serious.
James 4 has the remedy for James-3 cursing. In another article, I wrote this:

Laughter can be a beautiful thing. But after….
Wishing evil on people is reverse-Christian—not a laughing matter.
    “Sorrow is better than laughter;
for by the sadness of the face the heart is made good.” (Ecclesiastes 7:3)
The remedy for James-3 cursing in James 4 reads similarily: WordPOWER: The Remedy for James-3 Cursing & Partysville in Today’s Church .
Too much levity can mean there is not enough anointing and peace deep within, where we can relax.

Some things shouldn’t be joked about.
