First of all, the author of your linked article is probably a cessationist, who doesn’t even believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and the fact that we’re supposed to be filled with the Holy Spirit anyway.
And secondly, the Brownsville Reviva was from God. But certainly there was mixture, just as there has been in all of the recent revivals, including the current one in Redding; otherwise, the Third Great Awakening would have already happened.
Once-saved-always-saved has taken over the church, and until OSAS is strongly refuted to the degree that one group of people stop willfully sinning, ‘ONE’ won’t happen according to John 17 and Ephesians 4:11-16.
The truth needs to be taught about what real Christianity truly is and who really goes to heaven:
Who-Goes-To-Heaven Scriptures — Narrow is the Way | Who are the Children of God? Then we’ll have revival that will last.
