Something I posted on my Facebook timeline to counter the current, popular trend in which the greatest commandment is being almost completely ignored through the argument that we can do the greatest commandment by doing the second greatest.

The GREATEST commandment, “loving the Lord, our God with ALL OF OUR HEART, SOUL, mind and strength” is like lovers who say “I love you from the BOTTOM OF MY HEART, and really mean it.

That’s true worship: worshiping “in Spirit and in Truth.”

Attempting to do the SECOND GREATEST commandment without doing the GREATEST isn’t really doing the GREATEST.

Unless we abide in Him we can’t love all of our neighbors “AS OURSELVES.”
