Having prayed in tongues many thousands of hours for 33 years, I believe praying in tongues is mostly about freeing from evil spirits, both the prayer and those prayed for. I explain this in a link below, as well as give biblical proof that most ‘Christians’ today have demons, and share my prophecy about praying in tongues to get free!
One of my teachers in Bible school, Frank G. used to call it “getting the carbon out.” We would often blow the carbon out at the start of his classes, or before Prayer and Praise to be free!

I’ve been talking to believing friends of mine about speaking in tongues and how powerful it is for spiritual warfare, one friend and I have even started a small group so that those with the gift in the ministry can pray in tongues together. We get together a few times a week and the meetings have been effective and powerful. Every one of the people that have joined the group have expressed how they’re growing into a closer and more intimate relationship with the Father and with Yahushua, and we hear daily testimonies about how the Holy Spirit is dealing with and overcoming sin in the lives of these believers.
Earlier this week, a dear friend of mine even received his gift of speaking in tongues for the very first time. 🙂 We were both very excited, and I encouraged him to use the gift often, as he’s very much in tune with the great need for spiritual warfare.
I know what you mean about ‘Christians’ being empowered by these demonic forces – sometimes the “Sunday morning disconnect” is so great that one can hardly believe that the person saying “I love Jesus” is the same one that dropped the F-bomb yesterday while threatening to cut her nephew’s eyes out for something he did a year ago. True story.
I had an interesting spiritual dream the other night. I dreamed that a friend and I were on an embankment by the side of a great body of water during a storm. As a wave came up and was about to crash over us, I thought to myself, “I guess this is it. I’ll see you in the new city.” I closed my eyes in the dream and expected the next scene to be waking up in New Jerusalem. Instead, I opened my eyes underwater, realized I was still alive and swam up to the surface.
When I reached the surface, I looked up and saw the golden city above me, and Jesus was reaching his arms out for my friend and I, like he was inviting us. My friend started to fly up in the air toward him, I tried to grab his leg but I couldn’t hold on. Then I looked at Jesus and started speaking in tongues, and as I would pray in tongues, I started to fly up toward him too. We eventually made it up to him, and he set us on a high platform overlooking New Jerusalem.
At that point the dream was interrupted by someone calling me in real life, but it left me with a tremendous sense of awe, and I felt very loved and humbled afterwards.

A Gift that Will Set Many Free!
There is another day, a day that will happen if you let it.
I want you to be free, free from anxiety. A death warrant is out for your souls. It will get you if you let it. You must pray.
Many die from unknown causes. They are weak from attacks from the Devil who never gives up—curse after curse—toward My people. Many have given in, unable to walk.
Tongues, I’ve given you the gift of tongues from My heart to you. It is a gift that will set many free if you use it regularly. It is for you to walk holy, set free in forgiveness while you pray.
The two work together. One attacks the Devil, while you release those who have hurt you deeply, wounded your soul.
Pray for them. You can focus; you don’t have to pray in general all the time. I will give you the gift of lifeas you pray.
This is how it works. Believe in your heart you are praying for one another; though, it will come from the Holy Ghost, the words you emit that I give you to speak. Focus on these people, and pray until your tongues cease. I will tell you who to pray for, but this isn’t necessary. You can pray for anyone that way.
Believe in your heart; direct your tongues. I will fill your mouth as you speak and set people free. I will pray perfectly, as you obey, giving your life to others through prayer.
Amazing things will result! Your heart will be glad!
Watch Me do it. Prove My point. Try it now. Focus on someone who needs prayer. Believe in your heart you are praying for them as you speak words from above that fill your mouth. Pray it out, and watch them change, for I will release them from anger and all kinds of oppressions as you pray. You will see it, and it will amaze your intelligence. Many will be set free. Do it now. This is an important point.
And as you pray, forgive, release them from all kinds of cares and bondages. The two work hand in hand. You forgive and I pray through your words that I give you.
This is freedom! Set them free. Do it now; why wait when you can have the chance to move mountains, havean impact on society that many will see and feel. Your heart will be glad. Many will walk holy.
Pray for your elders. Many are not in the ministry to give life. Many are sucking you dry. They need to give up the ghost of unforgiveness and get on the bandwagon of love.
The seal of approval, you all want it. You can have it now. Why wait? You can be in Me as we speak. You can know for sure that you are sons of God, that I am in you and you are in Me. You will feel it. Your heart will be glad, and you will pray.
I will take you to heights unknown. Miracles will take place all around you as you obey. Many will be glad that you took the step of faith to lead. When all looked hopeless, you got up from your seat and prayed.
Pray. Let your heart be glad, and don’t give up. Pray until your tongues stop. This is an amazing gift that has much power to change.
Anyone can pray in tongues. It is a gift for all who obey, all who call on Me for Mercy.
Drink deeply, and let it give you life, freeing you, while you relax and find peace in a home here on earth.
We are together. Let us pray.
Living Examples, Filled to Overflowing Let Us Be ONE Prophecy, Part 15 of 33 excerpt:
It takes two to have fellowship. No more, but more will come. Start meeting two by twos until more follow. Meet once a week, and pray aloud. Strengthen yourselves, and go to the nations. They will see your light and be glad. But first, start at home. Build yourself a base, a core of believers who know Me from the bottom of their heart.
You will see great things happen in your midst, and it will be fun, exciting to watch Me work in you to others. Let them see your light. Let it shine. Let it be bold. Don’t hold back. Live a life of love.

I’m not going to include the source page of this comment, because I don’t fully agree with the author’s conclusion, that the man whom she was talking about isn’t a real brother, a famous writer whom I have a lot of respect for. So I’d rather not identify who this man is. But there is a lot of truth here that should be considered.
Praying in tongues in our personal prayer lives was very important for Paul, and is much more important than most Christian teachers teach.
[A famous Christian teacher who is no longer with us] took an “on the fence” position on the Gift of Tongues, and we have a people today who are weak and overwhelmed by the world, who think they are of the Lord and are “saved.” If Paul told us that Tongues edify (make strong) the believer and Jude tells us that it is necessary for a person to be built up in faith, any person who discourages either directly or indirectly what the Lord has elevated and given to His Body for their strength in Him, is a thief and a liar. It seeks to destroy the Body of the Lord like those who in stealth crept into the assemblies of the believers (described in Jude) and gradually caused them to fall away from the Lord.
