What is Real Revival?

Note: I strongly agree with Andrew Strom in most things. I really like his teaching. He really has a heart for God! But I think this is one of the few areas we would somewhat differ. Andrew talks about “genuine, unspeakable joy” happening after repentance, but I’ve seen God give people joy from which it is much easier to repent.
So many people have been hurt, today, that many don’t really know that God really, really loves them. They don’t know that they can totally trust God. Who is to say that joy can’t be up-front, that God can’t fill people with joy while the people are getting re-aquainted, learning to know and trust God again as Abba Father?
I know for a fact that it is often the Holy Spirit that is moving when people shake and even laugh. I’ve experienced it myself, and the more I forgave, the more I shook and laughed. It was more thrilling than riding a roller coaster, by far! And I’ve had many encounters since, sometimes daily (especially lately); though, not of this magnitude. I’ll explain later.
Shaking and laughing isn’t the problem. Doctrine is the problem. False doctrine, doctrines of demons are the problem. When things get weird at many of the so-called revival meetings, the problem stems from a lack of holiness and purity that plagues ‘Christianity,’ today. Without real repentance, the demons stay, and things can get really weird. ‘Christians’ are taught that they’ll get to heaven almost no matter what—that it’s hard to lose one’s salvation—and some even teach that it’s impossible, “once saved, always saved.”
Without holiness, no one will see God. God wants to help us get right with Him and each other. We should let Him do whatever He wants, but we must realize that our salvation is at stake if we don’t get right and learn to stay right with Him and each other. Our salvation is on the line! This isn’t a game. This is dead serious. We need to get right with Him and each other at all costs!
This is an example of a real revival, that I believe can soon happen in our midst: Asbury Revival, 1970: “Dr. Kinlaw, I am a liar. Now what do I do?” And this time it can last! But it’s up to us.
Real revival is ONE happening — Jesus’ heart-cry for us to be truly being one with each other in Him!
May we be ONE, this year!!!!!!!

From: TRUE & FALSE REVIVAL: An Insider’s Warning, by Andrew Strom – Chapter 3 excerpt

WHAT IS REAL REVIVAL?

As someone who has been studying and writing on Revival history for many years, I’m sure you can understand why I have often been saddened by the corruption of the term “Revival” – and what it actually means. This book is all about “True and False Revival”, so I guess it is high time that we look at the elements of TRUE Revival that have been seen again and again down the centuries.

Today, so few Christians seem to be aware of what really happens when God comes down (for that is what true Revival is – “GOD COMING DOWN”). When Moses came down from the mountain, he carried the holy presence and glory of God with him. The people wanted to run and hide! That is what true Revival has always been like. It is an invasion of the awesome holy presence of God – which is why the pattern of what happens in Revivals often repeats itself. Men’s hearts are essentially the same in each generation – so God’s holy presence has the same effect. Some get convicted, some want to run and hide, many cry loudly in repentance. Over and over, from the Book of Acts until now – we see the same things. And in a lot of ways, that makes it easier to discern the counterfeit from the real thing.

I am talking now about thousands of years of Revivals – where God has convicted men and women in the same way. Some people tell me, “Oh, it is going to be different this time.” Yes, there will always be something “new” in each Revival, but essentially God deals with the hearts of men in a similar way each time. I really hate it when people call the latest froth-and-bubble fad that is sweeping through the church ‘Revival’. …

As one writer commented, Revival is “not the top blowing off, but rather the bottom falling out.” And as Frank Bartleman (of the “Azusa Street‟ Revival) wrote: “I received from God early in 1905 the following keynote to revival: ‘The depth of revival will be determined exactly by the DEPTH OF THE SPIRIT OF REPENTANCE.’ And this will obtain for all people, at all times.” Anyone who has studied Revival history will say a big ‘Amen’ to Bartleman’s words here.

It is not uncommon, in real Revivals, for people to be so stricken with conviction of sin by the Holy Spirit that they are literally unable to do anything except lie face-down and cry out to God for mercy, in the greatest distress, until assured by Him that they have received His forgiveness. (Usually, especially in the early stages of Revival, these will be CHRISTIANS who have been harboring sin of some kind in their lives). Sometimes they may even feel the need to confess their sin publicly before forgiveness and cleansing can take place. We must never forget that Revival is firstly aimed at the Christians. As history clearly shows, it is a flood of deep cleansing, repentance and empowering aimed at “reviving” God’s people, so that they can bring in a mighty harvest. The following is a description of some of the Revival prayer meetings that took place in the Welsh Revival of 1858-59 (typical of many Revivals): “It was in its terrors that the eternal became a reality to them first. They seemed plunged into depths of godly sorrow… For some weeks it was the voice of weeping and the sound of mourning that was heard in the meetings. The house was often so full of the divine presence that ungodly men trembled terror-stricken; and at the close, sometimes they fled as from some impending peril…”

One eyewitness said of the famous 1904 Welsh Revival that it was not the eloquence of Evan Roberts that broke men down, but his tears. “He would break down, crying bitterly for God to bend them, in an agony of prayer, the tears coursing down his cheeks, with his whole frame writhing. Strong men would break down and cry like children… a sound of weeping and wailing would fill the air.” …

In this kind of genuine outpouring of the Holy Spirit, the tangible presence of God is very real. Frank Bartleman described one of the meetings during the Azusa Street Revival of 1906 as follows: “God came so wonderfully near us the very atmosphere of Heaven seemed to surround us. Such a divine ‘weight of glory’ was upon us we could only lie on our faces. For a long time we could hardly remain seated even. All would be on their faces on the floor, sometimes during the whole service. I was seldom able to keep from lying full length on the floor on my face.”

This overwhelming sense of being in the awesome presence, the “shekinah glory” of a holy God, brings agonizing conviction of sin to those whose hearts are not right with Him, but also great rejoicing and true joy to the ones who know they have been washed clean. These extremes of great sorrow over sin, followed by genuine ‘joy unspeakable’, often bring accusations of emotionalism and hysteria from those who oppose the Revival. However, it has been found that deep and genuine moves of God that begin with deep conviction, and result in deep joy, have always produced sound and lasting fruit wherever they have occurred.

Can ‘Christians’ use Paul’s “Forgetting the things which are behind…I press on” statement as an excuse to not get right with those they’ve hurt? If saying “Thou fool!” puts people in danger of hell fire, which Jesus said (Matt. 5:22), what about your other “little” sins?

What about “looking on a woman (or a picture of a woman or man) to lust after her?” (Matt. 5:28) Christ calls that adultery and God made that one of his basic ten “shalt nots.” (See Exodus 20, whole chapter.)

Are you guilty of such things as cursing people or mental adultery after you became a Christian? Most of us are.

We think we cannot help it, but we can if we have been born again.

"Blessed Subtractions" = Pastors 'Praying' People Out of Their Churches

Transcribed by Jeff Fenske from Radio Liberty broadcast: March 13, 2005—”Dr. Robert Klenk – Apostate Church”
The topic is what the church growth movement is doing to the church, and what happens when a member stands up to it. See: What’s Wrong with the 21st Century Church? By Dr. Robert Klenk

Caller: If you are in a particular denomination and you may see some problems, should you jump out and look for one that’s more perfect, or should you stay and grow where you’re planted?

Dr. Kenk: There’s not a Scripture for staying in a church that has apostate teaching. Always, the Scripture says mark those who cause divisions contrary to the doctrine which we have left you, and separate yourselves from them. Come out from among them. …

Dr. Stanley Monteith: But, of course, the other thing is, if you are a trouble-maker, and you’re speaking out against what’s going on, they will get rid of you, won’t they?

Dr. Klenk: Absolutely, and Rick Warren says, when you set the vision you decide who leaves. So when you are setting the vision for the church, the pastor is determining who’s coming and who’s going. Absolutely, and he also endorses another book, called “Transitioning: Leading the Church Through Change.” And in that book, they describe that you have three choices with the power brokers. They say: either get them on board; fight them; or run them off.

He also talks about blessed subtractions. And I’ve actually even heard of a pastor in a church growth church here in southern California who told his congregation that he was praying people out of his church. He was praying that the Lord would take them out, because they weren’t going along with the process.

'Pastor': You can pray AGAINST people. "It's well worth it!" – Vs – God: "Bless and don't curse," "This wisdom is…DEMONIC," "Overcome evil with good" "that you may be children of your Father"

Pastor Curses > Death Occurs > Claims ‘Answered Prayer’
From: The Last Trumpet Newsletter, April 1998, by David J. Meyer

I have been recently threatened by relatives of the late Anton LeVey, the now dead high priest of Satan, who founded the Church of Satan and wrote the “Satanic Bible.”  Anton LeVey died while we were doing spiritual battle in Salem, Massachusetts, last Halloween.  For those who have not heard this entire story, please request the December, 1997, issue of the Last Trumpet [read it here, ed.].  In that issue, I also tell of the prayer meeting the next day, in which we prayed for either the salvation or destruction of the leaders of Illuminism.  The very next day, Edmund de Rothschild, head of the Illuminati itself, died! We take prayer very seriously.  James 4:12 reminds us that there is one lawgiver, who is able both to save and to destroy.  God does both, and we commend all judgement into His hands [Really? ‘Turn or burn’ the only options? God doesn’t make people ‘turn.’ Nor does He answer ‘burn’ prayers (curses)—the opposite of Romans 12 (see below)—”Bless and don’t curse.” – ed.].  He hears our prayers and the cry of our hearts but always does his own will.

I want to encourage every reader to get into the battle against the enemy.  The docile remnant will see the power of God through prayer and will join in the battle.  Souls will be saved as a result of our Saviour working through his people.  We have asked specifically in prayer for whorehouses and strip joints to be driven out, and within weeks they closed down.  I specifically asked the Lord to send the judgement of Sodom on the Hotel Washington in Madison, Wisconsin, because it was completely controlled by homosexuals.  No one knew I prayed against it as I drove past it, but a few weeks later, it burned to the ground from a fire of unknown origin.  There was no loss of life.  The examples of answered prayer are far too numerous to mention, but one more….

You can do it too! It is not hard to get answers to prayer, but it is hard to get people to pray.  It is hard work but well worth it!

Please don’t. Losing one’s salvation is not worth it. See: Who-Goes-to-Heaven-Scriptures — Narrow is the Way. This isn’t prayer, it’s witchcraft in Jesus’ name. It’s James-3 cursing from the dark side: “this wisdom is…demonic” (James 3:15).

Martin Luther James-3 Cursed? "The maladies I suffer are not natural, but Devil's spells"

Quotes from John Mark Ministries
Luther knew his illnesses weren’t natural, but demonically caused:

“Our bodies are always exposed to Satan. The maladies I suffer are not natural, but Devil’s spells.”

Martin Luther said this about doctors who treat demonically caused illnesses as though they are natural:

“Idiots, the lame, the blind, the dumb, are men in whom the devils have established themselves: and all the physicians who heal these infirmities, as though they proceeded from natural causes, are ignorant blockheads….”

The Devil, an expert reverse-physician:

The Devil, it is true, is not exactly a doctor who has taken degrees, but he is very learned, very expert for all that. He has not been carrying on his business during thousands of years for nothing….”

Paul Meier: "The most deceitful thing in God’s universe is our own hearts"

Transcribed by Jeff Fenske from: “Enjoying Everyday,” 2/27/7
Counselor Paul Meier meierclinics.com explains how most ‘Christians’ have deceived hearts, and often aren’t even aware of what they are doing, which would in part explain why some ‘Christians’ James-3 curse people, unaware.
The host asks:

Why is it so important to be honest about the part we may have played in troubled or failed relationships?

Paul Meier responds:

“Let me start with Jeremiah 17:9. Jeremiah the prophet said that our hearts…are deceived more than anything in the universe. The most deceitful thing in God’s universe is our own hearts.

So 80% of our thoughts, feelings and motives, we’re not even aware of.

“Then Matthew 7:3-5 says: so we’re blind to our faults, and we don’t admit them to ourselves or anybody else.

Jer. 17:9 (KJVS) The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
Matt. 7:3 (WEB) Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but don’t consider the beam that is in your own eye?

Dennis Cramer: "Most ‘Christians’ curse for the purpose of retaliation and vindication … ‘Christian’ leaders are even more vulnerable"

Transcribed by Jeff Fenske from the Cornerstone Television program, Getting Together, probably in the late ’90s. Possibly still available as an audio tape—program #80416.

Dennis Cramer, author of Breaking Christian Curses, said this about about the current James-3 cursing epidemic:

I’ve learned from experience that most Christians curse for the purpose of retaliation and vindication, because they’re proud, arrogant. They’ve known some measure of success, and they may even be skilled in the things of God.

In fact, that’s why sometimes Christian leaders are even more vulnerable to being able to launch curses—because they’ve been entrusted with spiritual skills, you see. And if we don’t use those spiritual skills in a constructive manner, if we use them in a destructive manner, like the disciples tried to, then, of course, we as leaders are at a greater risk.

So I have found that most Christians, based on a self righteous mentality, a proud spirit, and unbrokenness in their lives, believe that they’re so important to God that they can retaliate. And they use those spiritual weapons that were supposed to be used on the Devil against other Christians.

………………

The host asked:

What was your response to these people, the people that placed this curse over you? … What’s the correct response?

Dennis Cramer answered:

What my response was and the correct response weren’t the same, at first.

I did everything wrong. I was bitter; I was angry; I was frustrated; I was upset; I was hurt; I lashed back; I broke every rule in the Book.

Was I the victim, absolutely? But was I responsible for my sinful behavior, absolutely. I was wrong. I made every mistake possible. But eventually, God said, now, the real key to your release is to forgive them. And that’s what really did more for me than anything else—more than rebuking, and using the name of Jesus, and quoting scriptures, and having other people pray with me.

As I forgave, and as I loved—and listen to me: as I began to pray for them—man, I was completely freed!

That was the biggest weapon of my warfare. I began to pray for and bless those that cursed me. And that, more than anything else, set me free.

"Breaking Christian Curses: Finding Freedom from Destructive Prayers" by Dennis Cramer

This is an important book, mainly because hardly anyone is addressing this vitally important subject which I believe is an epidemic in America, and these, what I call “James-3 curses” are affecting many in often devastating ways.

Dennis won’t go this far in the book, but I have found that most people are being cursed in one way or another, and many “Christians” (especially “Christian” leaders, as Dennis points out) are doing the cursing, as well as non-believers.

This is a terrible problem that desperately needs to be addressed, not just because we see the affects in people’s lives, but because the Bible warns against this in multiple places. And anyone who hates his brother does not have eternal life abiding in Him. Cursing others is a salvation issue; though, Dennis doesn’t discuss this.

Some “Christians” wish evil on people intentionally, knowingly, thinking they have the right. Others who wish evil on people don’t understand their own hearts, where evil can reside if we give the demons a place through willful sinning, and these people can sometimes curse others without even realizing it. Words don’t need to be spoken. It’s the thought that counts.

“Breaking Christian Curses” (formerly released as “Charismatic Curses”) just barely scratches the surface, but I am thankful for Dennis’ boldness to step out with such a vitally needed book on this under-appreciated subject. More work needs to be done, and if you know of other books that address this subject, please let me know.

“Breaking Christian Curses: Finding Freedom from Destructive Prayers,” by Dennis Cramer

* Is everything you do a spiritual struggle?

* Does a dark spiritual cloud seem to constantly hang over your life?

* Are you trapped by feelings of abandonment and betrayal?

* Does severe hopelessness and chronic loneliness keep you paralyzed in debilitating despair?

* Are you immobilized by self-doubt and a persistent sense of overwhelming inferiority?

You may actually be cursed! Don’t worry. You are not alone.

In this startling, factual, real-life expose, Dennis Cramer details his 13-year battle with a “christian” curse and how God not only miraculously exposed the source of the curse, but dramatically delivered him from its devastating effects. God will do the same for you!

Could you be a victim of spiritual abuse? It’s time to find out. Your enemy might not be a witch or warlock! It could be a misguided believer!

Could other Christians have pronounced failure and defeat over your life?

In order to bring to light this terrible darkness, Dennis takes you on a journey into the evil world of “christian” witchcraft, “christian” cannibalism and “christian” curses – where you will not only be biblically informed, but spiritually set free! Get your personal copy today!

Insightful articulate accurate according to the Word, this book revealed to me how easily one believer can curse another even without being aware of it. Although a believer probably would never use the word curse and deliberately address another, by our not paying attention to what we do and say, we can effectively curse another. Interestingly, Scripture addresses this issue and forbids us to do it. You will gain much insight about the effects of a curse and what to do to deal with the issue and be set free to live under the blessing.

[WordPOWER!] In Psalm 50 God Warns: "You have done these things, and I kept silent. You thought that I was just like you. … Now consider this…lest I tear you into pieces and there be none to deliver" (Hell?)

Praise God for giving us His Holy Spirit, Who will “lead us into all truth”—if we listen carefully, wanting to hear His “still, small voice.”

On occasion, while thinking of whatever, I’ll softly hear a chapter and a verse, or just a chapter, and I almost always find the text significant.

‘Psalm 50’ is one of those quiet promptings that I’ve heard a number of times, years ago, and kept looking it up each time. I’m still learning from it.

Two things struck me as significant each time I read it. The first related to the people who consider themselves children of God and who James-3 curse other people. I knew this was happening to me every day. Psalm 50 helped me understand that some of these James-3 cursers actually think God condones their behavior. But the reality is that if they don’t repent before they die, they’ll end up in a place of extreme torment from which no one will be able to deliver them. During the funeral, the pastor will probably say they are in heaven, but in reality, they’re being torn to pieces (v. 22), or something even worse!

I had a prophecy for a pastor who really had an evil part to his heart (many do in this evil age). The word was that the flames would be neck high if he didn’t repent and do what God said.

Psalm 50 is part of the old covenant, where God winked at behavior in comparison to what He holds us accountable for now, because now we know better; we have the Counselor, the Holy Spirit to “lead us into all truth!” Paul said in Acts 17:30:

“And the times of this ignorance (old covenant) God winked at; but now (new covenant) commandeth all men every where to repent.”

Jesus also taught that the new covenant is far stricter than the old saying in the sermons of the mount, Mt. 5:

21 “You have heard that it was said to the ancient ones, ‘You shall not murder;’ and ‘Whoever shall murder shall be in danger of the judgment.’ 22 But I tell you, that everyone who is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment…; and whoever shall say, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of the fire of Gehenna.

27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery;’ 28 but I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her…. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish, than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna.

And even though Psalm 50 is old covenant, when God “winked at” sin in comparison to now, people who thought they were covered with the blood were actually headed for eternal torment simply for saying deceitful and slanderous things!
See for yourself:

Smith Wigglesworth: "With a CONSTANT FILLING, You Will SPEAK In TONGUES Morning, Noon and Night"

I can never estimate what the Baptism of the Holy Ghost has been to me these past fifteen years. It seems that every year has had three years packed into it, so that I have had forty-five years of happy service since 1907. And it is getting better all the time.

It is a luxury to be filled with the Spirit, and at the same time it is a divine command for us, not to be filled with wine wherein is excess, but to be filled with the Spirit.

No Pentecostal person ought to get out of bed without being lost in the Spirit and speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. No one should come into the door of an assembly without speaking in tongues or having a psalm, or a note of praise. We emphasize that at the incoming of the Spirit He should so fill us that the last member in the body is yielded to Him, and that no one is baptized in the Spirit without speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance; and I maintain that, with a constant filling, you will speak in tongues morning, noon and night. As you live in the Spirit, when you walk down the steps of the house where you live, the devil will have to go before you. You will be more than a conqueror over the devil.

I see everything a failure except that which is done in the Spirit. But as you live in the Spirit, you move, act, eat, drink, and do everything to the glory of God.

Our message is always this, “Be filled with the Spirit. This is God’s place for you, and it is as far above the natural life as the heavens are above the earth. Yield yourselves for God to fill.

ESCAPE TRIBULATION? -WRONG! -Corrie Ten Boom.

Miss Corrie Ten Boom was a Dutch survivor of the Nazi Concentration Camps, and a lifelong missionary. Corrie was a believer in facing tribulation. She was one of the many people who were persecuted in concentration camps during the World War II. Her family was murdered before her eyes, but though her life was threatened, God led her through that terrible time. She lived to testify all over the world of how God brought her out of that time of trouble. In the worst days in the concentration camp she and her sister Betsy discovered that “there is no pit so deep that the Presence of God is not there with us”. In an interview titled “Prepared for the Coming Tribulation”, Miss Corrie Ten Boom held very definite view concerning the rapture. In the following message she shared a plea for the saints to prepare themselves for the possibility that at some point their faith may be tested. It serves today as a timely warning to us in the comfortable and complacent western church as we approach the threshold of the end-time drama.

Here is her exhortation to us from a letter she wrote in 1974:

______________

“The world is deathly ill. It is dying. The Great Physician has already signed the death certificate. Yet there is still a great work for Christians to do. They are to be streams of living water, channels of mercy to those who are still in the world. It is possible for them to do this because they are overcomers.

Christians are ambassadors for Christ. They are representatives from Heaven to this dying world. And because of our presence here, things will change.

My sister, Betsy, and I were in the Nazi concentration camp at Ravensbruck because we committed the crime of loving Jews. Seven hundred of us from Holland, France, Russia, Poland and Belgium were herded into a room built for two hundred. As far as I knew, Betsy and I were the only two representatives of Heaven in that room.

We may have been the Lord’s only representatives in that place of hatred, yet because of our presence there, things changed. Jesus said, “In the world you shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” We too, are to be overcomers – bringing the light of Jesus into a world filled with darkness and hate.

Sometimes I get frightened as I read the Bible, and as I look in this world and see all of the tribulation and persecution promised by the Bible coming true. Now I can tell you, though, if you too are afraid, that I have just read the last pages. I can now come to shouting “Hallelujah! Hallelujah!” for I have found where it is written that Jesus said, “He that overcometh shall inherit all things: and I will be His God, and he shall be My son.” This is the future and hope of this world. Not that the world will survive – but that we shall be overcomers in the midst of a dying world.

Andrew Strom: Love People Please!

From: Revival School

When I was a young Christian I was a total zealot. There is nothing wrong with that, but sadly I was often a zealot without wisdom – and also WITHOUT LOVE. I cared for “truth” more than I cared for people, and I did not even notice that I was often using Truth as a sword to crush people with, rather than set them free.

A lot of young zealous Christians are like that – but I was particularly bad because I had a ‘prophetic’-type personality – very intense, very black and white. I would walk into a room full of Christians and start an argument at the drop of a hat. I was not afraid to “blast” anyone. Truth was king – the most important thing – and that was all I cared about. This was not just an “occasional” problem with me – this was the way I lived and breathed. Total, all-out zealotry.

I do not have this approach to life any more – though I still care deeply about truth. (-For that is the way God made me). Sometimes I will still debate things with people – though very rarely.

Over the years God changed me utterly. In fact, to change my hardened heart He had to break me and break me and break me some more. And each time He did so, a little bit of LOVE got in. I’m sure He is still doing so today.

I started to realize that from God’s point of view, the most precious thing in all the earth is PEOPLE. We can see this in the most famous verse in the Bible- “For God SO LOVED the world….” There it is – He so LOVES PEOPLE. He sent His son to die for PEOPLE. That is what it is all about.

There is an old Maori saying from New Zealand, which I have to love- “The most valuable thing in all the world is PEOPLE, it is PEOPLE, it is PEOPLE.”

And yet to me in those early years, it was not “people” that I deeply cared about at all. The only thing I deeply valued was the ‘Truth’ that I was trying to put across that day.

[Catholic TV] John Calvin: "Once Saved, Always Saved?" – Or – Jesus Christ: "If You Conquer, I Will Not Blot Your Name Out of the Book of Life."

Michael quotes verse 5 from what Jesus told Sardis in Revelation 3. YES!!!

1 “…I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead. 2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God. 3 Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent…. 4 You have a few names even in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with Me in white, for they are worthy. 5 He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.” NKJV

“An excerpt from the Catholic television program ‘The One True Faith’. What is the notion of “Once Saved, Always Saved”, and when did it appear? Is this incorrect and false notion innocent, or is it a dangerous heresy which leads and has lead many once-faithful Christians away from Christ and His Church? Andrew Strom: FIVE KEYS to SURVIVING the CRISIS

“Learn to listen to God’s voice and obey Him.
Wherever he wants to send you,
whatever He wants you to do – do it.

And I pray that not only will you be one who ‘survives’
this crisis, but one who ‘thrives’
– to the glory of God the Father.”

From: Revival School (Andrew Strom)

Since I believe (like others) that 2009 is going to be a year that “All hell breaks loose” (-Yes – you can quote me on that), I believe it is very important that God’s people come to grips with the key things that will help us survive – and even thrive – through this dark period of great Shaking. The following keys are taken from my book, “SURVIVE the DEPRESSION”-

(1) SPIRITUAL PREPARATION. As has been intimated all the way through the book, the most important keys to surviving and thriving in this present crisis are ‘SPIRITUAL’ in nature. The root causes of this mess are things like greed, apathy and the ‘Love of money’ – which are all SPIRITUAL diseases. And thus the answers are mostly spiritual also. Those who merely prepare in physical or practical ways will find this out to their great cost. If you want to survive and thrive, prepare yourself ‘spiritually’ above all else. Spend time seeking God, get rid of all sin, obey Him implicitly, help the poor, leave behind the shallow ‘junk’ of our culture and become a radical disciple of Jesus. If you have a family to care for, put the same principles into practice. Become a RADICAL FAMILY for Christ! Don’t delay. We are out of time. Such ‘spiritual’ preparations are by far the most important answer to surviving and thriving in these dark times. But don’t just selfishly seek God so you can ‘survive’. Seek Him for His own sake. Become a true disciple who lives for Christ – not for what you can ‘get out of it’ – but because your deepest desire is to utterly glorify Him.

(2) POSITION YOURSELF. Sometimes Christians can get away with being in the wrong place for quite some time. But not in a crisis like this. Every Christian needs to ask themselves right now, ‘Am I exactly where I am meant to be? Am I am with the people that God wants me with? Am I in the right group, the right city?’ If you know that God has been whispering to you for quite some time that you are meant to be in a different place, then do not delay. Get yourself and your family into the place that you know is in the very center of His will – even if it means losing money, or leaving behind friends, a well-paid job, or whatever. This is no time to be caught anywhere but in the exact center of God’s will for your life. Pray about it and take action. Don’t put it off!

Andrew Strom: Our Only Hope is to Have Revival in the Midst of Judgment — It's Already Too Late

Transcribed by Jeff Fenske from “SURVIVE THE COMING DEPRESSION” (-Nov 07), posted now at Revival School’s Home Page

“We’ve got to prepare for what is about to happen in America. … It’s coming, and it cannot be stopped. No amount of praying will stop it. It’s already too late. We have one hope, and one hope only for revival in America, and that is to have revival in the midst of judgments.

Andre Eggelletion: "What's so wrong with admitting when you're wrong?"

Transcribed by Jeff Fenske from Andre Eggelletion’s 12/18/08 broadcast on US Talk Network
Andre was talking about President George W. Bush’s lack of repentance, and then said this about those of us who elect the Presidents.

What’s so wrong with admitting when you’re wrong?

How quick are you to apologize when you’ve done something wrong, and say, ‘you know something, I messed up. … I’m sorry, man. I was just wrong. Forgive me. …

Why don’t you stop lying and just say, you know something, I overreacted. I was wrong. …

Admit when you’re wrong, okay? There’s nothing wrong with it. It cleanses the soul. … It renews you; it restores you. Make the atonement. Go ahead; put yourself on that altar.

It’s easy to pay 10% of your money, and think you’re going to get into heaven…. No, admit when you’re wrong. Make ammends for it. Apologize. Say, ‘I’m sorry.’ …

I can be vain enough to walk over you and think that it’s okay. But it’s not okay. Just admit when you’re wrong. Be a virtuous person.”
