Jesus prayed we'd be 'ONE' with each other in Him that the world will know! (John 17)

Strange Blasphemy at Walmart: The ‘Sam Pledge’ – Praying to a Dead Man — “From this day forward, every customer that comes within 10 feet of me, I’m going to look him in the eye, I’m going to smile, I’m going to greet him with ‘What can I do for you?’ — SO HELP ME SAM!”

I just watched a documentary on Walmart, in which they showed a large group of the ‘associates,’ all reciting the ‘Sam Pledge’ out loud — “so help me Sam” (deceased 1992).

Replacing the name of God with a dead man’s in their carefully crafted employee pledge…

The “Sam Pledge,” which Walton has recited hundreds of times to associates, reads in part, “From this day forward, every customer that comes within 10 feet of me . . . I’m going to look him in the eye, I’m going to smile . . . I’m going to greet him with ‘What can I do for you?’ — so help me Sam!”

I wouldn’t take a corporation’s pep talk as blasphemy. Personalizing a founder’s business strategy does not constitute an act of worship, IMO.

Walmart has been accused of many things of which it may be guilty; but I doubt that blasphemy is one of them.

    • They know exactly what they’re doing, and have probably had many complaints about it, but they do it anyway in this group pledge that they memorize, “so help me Sam,” instead of “so help me God.”

Walmart will do just about anything for money. Many will think it’s funny, but it’s actually blasphemy — replacing God’s name with a dead man’s in their corporate prayer/pledge.

  2. Please unsubscribe me from this website. I have come to believe that many of these statements I have encountered here have not been backed up in truth! I had inquired at one time from a statement that was made from a prior date…”Could you please direct me to the scripture from where this came”? The reply was that it is in several places of the bible. Pardon me, but that is not what I asked for. If this site is expressing the information that is encountered from one point or another much prayer should be considered before hand.

Any time there is a statement made from anywhere, anyplace, it needs to be backed up in TRUTH! Not perception or what one may think that it says. There is so enough untrue things going on in this world from the father-of-lies, that we need to learn how to identify, hear and see these things through the SPIRIT OF TRUTH!!! Are we not our brothers keeper?
    ……..BACK-IT-UP!

    • That doesn’t sound like something I would say, and I can’t find a comment like this anywhere on my site doing a search. But I’d like to see it if you can find it.

Regarding unsubscribing: I’m not allowed to subscribe or unsubscribe anyone. Apparently, http://subscribe.wordpress.com works to remove the email notifications for personal subscriptions.

Why does Jeff Fenske hate John Hagee so much? It makes no sense…this hate.

    • A. W.

I don’t hate anyone, and how is this post related to John Hagee?

      • Dr. A. W.

You have a video on your website that attacks him.

        • What I have posted about John Hagee exposes him as a false teacher, leading many astray to support reverse-Christian, immoral wars in which we’ve killed and displaced millions who did nothing to US, while he’s bloodthirsty for more.

Hagee even teaches that the Jews don’t have to repent and follow Christ to go to heaven.

          This is love, not hate:
