ARE YOU SCARED OF WHAT PEOPLE WILL THINK
One of the major obstacles for some when it comes to coming WHOLEHEARTEDLY to Jesus Christ is caring what people will think of them. I cannot count how many times I have mentioned Jesus Christ to people and I believe the true reason for them not coming to Him is EXACTLY THAT REASON: Fear of what people will think.
They think it is too much of a sacrifice. The TRUE and REAL reason is that men care of what other people think because they care about their own image and glory. But in reality, IT IS PART OF BEING A CHRISTIAN. If we care what people think of us, if we care about our own image and our own glory, then we will NOT seek the glory that comes from God. They are against each other. Either we will care about the glory that comes from God OR we will care about the glory that comes from men.
Jesus says in John 5:44 – How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?
It is also an obstacle to FAITH. Jesus says that if we care about the honour that comes from other men, we will have problems BELIEVING. Why is that? It is because those who care about the glory that comes from God, will SEEK GOD HUMBLY and then WILL FIND HIM. That in turn will cause their faith to SOAR.
Let’s be clear, we cannot fit Jesus Christ with the world. John says that if we love the world and the things of the world, the love of the Father IS NOT IN US.
I pray EVERY DAY that God removes any need left in me to be glorified by men or to be thought well of by other people. I want to live FOR JESUS not for other men. Is that you dear friend?
Do you care what other people think?
Is the scorn and judgment of others PREVENTING you from FOLLOWING THE KING?
Are you scared because you don’t want to be rejected?
OR
Will you care about the GLORY AND HONOUR THAT COMES FROM THE ONLY TRUE GOD?
