Jesus prayed we'd be 'ONE' with each other in Him that the world will know! (John 17)

Your River rushes to the lowest place

Some of the lyrics from a song gloriously sung tonight at the IHOPU revival, transcribed by me, based on the principle that will always be true: “God resists the proud, but GIVES GRACE to the humble.”

Your River rushes to the lowest place

I’ve gotta get lower, lower
I’ve gotta go deeper, deeper
The River flows!

I bow down
I get lower
I open up my heart to receive your love

  1. Jeff,
This song was the last song played at the Onething conference. I’ve searched around but can’t find any information about it. Do you have any info? Has it been officially recorded?

    John,
I don’t know. I’m just observing from up here in Alaska, taking advantage of this excellent use of video technology! I couldn’t find the lyrics on the web, so I just transcribed them.
This may be one of those songs that somewhat spontaneously started in the prayer room and is now becoming a full fledged song.
IHOP would probably have the answer.
    God bless!

Hi! Saw this post randomly….this is a great song.
I’m in the UK and I can confirm I have seen this song in iTunes UK….it’s on a compilation album called ‘Majestic’ – it’s just called ‘Lowest Place’ and it’s composed by a lady called Laura Hackett – an IHOP worship leader I believe…..
    Hope this helps!

    Very helpful, Shaun!!
Now, having the title, I was able to find the entire song online. It’s slightly different than the version I heard live, though.
This podcast plays the song, and then Laura talks about its origin: her dream as well as what transpired in the Prayer Room, through the other musicians.
Pretty cool! Her voice is a bit overpowered by the instruments, though. She takes the lowest place in the mix.

Listen to an interview with Laura on her song “Lowest Place” on the Forerunner Music Podcast.

    Thanks, Shaun!

    Hey Jeff,
Haven’t been online in a while…sorry for the late response!
I admit I prefer the live verions of this song – seen her perform it a couple of times on God TV. I cant seem to find a live version though – I wish IHOP would make some of the live stuff available for free (they must record it?)
I know that you can watch the Prayer Room live now online – this is an absolute blessing for me…you have to sit up till anywhere between 0230-0500am to catch this on TV in the UK (apologies if you are in the UK – just assuming you are in the US!) I also know you can subscribe to a limited edition service whereby you can get CDs quarterly (I think) of the best Prayer Room performances.
    Really enjoying your blogs!

    Shaun,
If the Prayer Room is broadcast on TV in England, that’s awesome! I haven’t seen that in the US, but I live in Alaska.
I did just post this article, for those who don’t know how the Archives player works. And I mention the worship teams that I most like to watch or listen to, currently.
The Prayer Room at IHOP: How to navigate the Archives player to watch different sessions or to pause, repeat, …
Yeah, it would be nice to at least be able to purchase inexpensively the parts of the live sessions that really get off the ground. And more and more this is happening, praise God! And sometimes these songs last for awhile, so it’s hard to fit many on their LE CD. The LE CD also can be downloaded as an MP3.
By the way, I don’t know if you heard it, but Laura sang “Your River Rushes…” at the end of her session yesterday. You could listen via the Archives player.
I hope the fire gets lit in England. I haven’t visited since the million + surveillance cameras have been installed. It’s now starting to happen in areas of the US too.
It’s sad when the people give up their freedoms for “safety” — which many willfully accept because godlessness got so widespread.
    Power to the Peaceful!

Thanks for the heads up! I’m going to the archives now…. :o)
‘I hope the fire gets lit in England. I haven’t visited since the million + surveillance cameras have been installed. It’s now starting to happen in areas of the US too.’
LOL – not sure how England gets represented over in Alaska but its really not that bad! We are still a fairly green and pleasant land! Its easy to get caught up in the media…I read to my surprise on an US news website the other day that sections of our community are now under Sharia law…..I’m not sure which part of the country they went too, but its news to me and I’m pretty clued up on matters of the news! We have our dangerous areas – but who doesn’t right?
Alas its the way of the world – stupid, but you learn to live with it!
