I like the first part, where she talks about why many women, in particular, like the idea of worshiping Mary instead of Jesus. Of course, Mary is just a person who can’t really be prayed to, so demons can impersonate Mary, to be the ‘familiar spirit’ that many then follow.

“I think, deep down, everybody knows that if you come to God, if you come to Christ, you’re going to have to give yourself up, and He is going to change you. I think that’s possibly something that everybody knows at some instinctive level. The thing about mothers is that they’re much more tolerant than fathers. The father won’t tolerate the same level of disobedience in his sons than the mother will, typically.
I think it’s because people just sort of see Mary as sort of embracing, loving, forgiving, etc. etc.. And she doesn’t judge. We know that Jesus, when He comes again, He’s going to come as judge. The first time, He didn’t come to judge the world. He came to save. But we know that whenever we stand in front of His thrown, whether He comes first or whether we die, we’re all going to stand in front of Him. And when that happens, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess. He will judge us. And people are scared of that. So they would sooner have a pseudo-Jesus. I think that’s why Mary is popular.”
