[EXCELLENT video] Francis Chan & Preston Sprinkle: Erasing Hell — “He gets to define what love is, and not us.” “That means my sin is way worse than I could ever even imagine.” | ~”I think this whole concept of ‘how could God do this’ is woven into the fabric of our culture that says ‘how dare my dad tell me what I can and cannot do!’ We’ve lost the idea of authority, and it’s killing our culture.”

Francis Chan and Preston Sprinkle are coauthors of: Erasing Hell: What God said about eternity, and the things we made up, which I have read, and highly recommend; however, I was disappointed with one of their points. When Jesus mentions the worm that never dies and the fire that is never quenched, I do believe the worms and the fire is real, not figurative, which Mary Katherine Baxter experienced. She explains how the fires and utter darkness are fully compatible in that realm. It’s a place we don’t want to go, period!

I listened to the audio book a few times through. Francis wrote the final draft, but Preston narrates the text, which to me, isn’t ideal, since I’m used to hearing Francis express his own thoughts. But as you can see here, Preston is a great guy too!

There is one thing he says though…. Not wanting to go to hell is actually a good motivation for serving God and living a life in love, in Christ. Jesus, Himself used the threat of hell as a motivational warning. For example, on lusting:

27 “You have heard that it was said to those of old,  ‘You shall not commit adultery.’  28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. 30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.

Very important topic and discussion!

“He gets to define what love is,
and not us.”

“We question things like ‘does a loving God torture those in hell?’ But I have another question. Does a fair God just forgive you for all the stuff that you did? Does a fair God let you escape hell? Does a fair God have His own Son come down and die for your sake? It’s weird how we’ll question ‘God, how could you punish anyone,’ but we never ask the question, ‘God, how could you forgive anyone?'”

“His thoughts are WAY BEYOND mine.”

“There’s just a sense of arrogance when I tell God ‘look,
this is right or this is wrong….'”

And Francis’ excellent statement @ 52:25 ends with:

“… And then when you disobey God, Himself, there are consequences to that. But the way that we teach love [to children – editor] has been: oh, you never punish; you never discipline; you never say ‘no.’ Just let them act out. It’s like: no, that’s not what God does. That’s not love.

So I think this whole concept of ‘how could God do this,’ it’s woven into the fabric of our culture that says ‘how dare my dad tell me what I can and cannot do.’ And we’ve lost the idea of authority all together, and it’s killing our families; it’s killing our churches; it’s killing our culture.”

– Francis Chan

Preston Sprinkle adds:

“When I think of hell, it’s made me kind of think of the enormity of our sin.
If God is at all just, and He says that the punishment for sin is hell,
that means my sin is way worse than I could ever even imagine.”

Q&A: Francis Chan on Rob Bell and Hell

Why ‘Erasing Hell’ was his most difficult book, how ‘Love Wins’ prompted repentance, and whether ‘Believe in Jesus or you’ll go to hell’ is good news.

Interview by Mark Galli

Erasing Hell: What God Said About Eternity, and the Things We’ve Made Up
by Francis Chan and Preston Sprinkle

Few books have generated as much theological conversation as Rob Bell’s Love Wins—and fewer still have sparked several response books within months of their appearance. Francis Chan, whose books Crazy Love and Forgotten God are still on bestseller lists, is a somewhat surprising addition to the pack with Erasing Hell. (Chan’s coauthor, Preston Sprinkle, is associate professor of biblical studies at Chan’s Eternity Bible College.) Christianity Today senior managing editor Mark Galli is the author of another of the response books, God Wins, and interviewed Chan last week.

In several places in your book, it’s clear that you are conflicted about even addressing this topic.

It’s weird. I’ve never felt a need to really respond to someone else’s writing. And yet reading Love Wins set a lot of things spinning in my mind. Some of it was concern, but some was doubt: Am I sure of what I believe? Let me go back and study. Several times in the middle of the night I couldn’t even sleep. I really believe the Lord wanted me to do this, but there is a wrestling on that point because I thought, “Gosh, that’s just not me. That’s not what I’m comfortable with. I really don’t think I’ll enjoy this at all. I’m not looking forward to all the backlash and everything else.”

The other side was that I was really hoping to discover some things I hadn’t discovered before—or maybe this was an opportunity to soften my stance on hell. I was hoping to find that in Scripture. And so when I didn’t it find it, it made me even more sick to my stomach.

[…]

When you say that your study caused you to realize that you had some sins to repent of, what type of things are you talking about?

As I reread the Gospel passages, Jesus’ words are much harsher than I remember. There’s a tone in some of the things that he said that are really difficult to stomach, and he says things in a way that I would not have.

Because we in America read certain passages over and over to the neglect of others, we start to believe that Jesus had a friendly tone all the time. And that there isn’t any wrath or anger or judgment. When you read it all like you are reading it for the first time, you walk away going, “Wow, he was pretty hardcore.”

Here’s what I had to repent of: I had felt the need to soften a lot of Jesus’ statements, because in my arrogance I think, “Okay Jesus, I’m not going to say that like that. Trust me, people will like you more and be more willing to accept you if I say it like this.” Obviously I’ve never said that to God. But that’s the attitude I’ve taken, and it made me sick. Who in the heck do I think I am? To think that I can make God more palatable or attractive if I try and change the tone in which he says some things. I know people say, “Well it’s just cultural this or that.” That’s garbage. People back then had a much deeper reverence for God than we do. Especially the religious community. Yet it’s to those people whom he speaks so harshly.

What in the world would he say to us today? I don’t think it’d be a softer message. I had to come before God and say, “Lord I feel sick.” And I confessed to Mark [Beuving, who edited the book] and Preston [Sprinkle, the coauthor] as we were working on the book, “I confess to you guys, I confess to the church, I know I have backed away from certain things because of my arrogance. I thought I could attract more people to Jesus by hiding certain things about him.” I had to confess my arrogance.

[…]

What do you think is the biggest misunderstanding contemporary Christians have about hell?

…the main thing is that we have tried to block [hell] out of our minds. Yet because it’s written about so often in Scripture, I think God does want it on the forefront.

[…]

I thought one of Rob Bell’s compelling statements was that sometimes we make the gospel sound like “Believe in Jesus or you’ll go to hell.” Which turns the gospel not into good news but into a threat. Have you thought about how we can talk about this reality without making it sound like a threat or spiritual extortion?

Well, that’s difficult. Because don’t you kind of get that when you read the Scriptures? That’s a struggle I have. When I read the Scriptures, it sure seems threatening. “Don’t fear man who can just kill your body. Fear God who can destroy your body and soul in hell.”

I see God in his love warning me of hell because he wants me to embrace him so badly. And I don’t see that as a bad thing. It’s like warning my kids about not being careful in crossing the street: “Do you understand what will happen?”

WHY HELL is INTEGRAL to THE GOSPEL

-extracts by Greg Gilbert.

For some, the horror of the Christian doctrine of hell – that it is a place of eternal, conscious torment where God’s enemies are punished – has led them not just to avert their eyes and minds, but to deny it entirely. “Surely,” they say, “hell is a fictional construct used to oppress people with fear; a God of love would never allow such a place to really exist.”

There’s an emotional power to this argument, to be sure. No one, certainly no Christian, likes the idea of hell.

At the same time, this doctrine isn’t just drapery on the side of the Christian worldview, something with no relevance to the structure of the faith itself. Nor is the doctrine of hell an embarrassing, unnecessary, primitive wart that we believe just because we’re told we have to.

On the contrary, the doctrine and reality of hell actually throws the glory of the gospel into sharp relief for us. It helps us to understand just how great God really is, how sinfully wretched we really are, and how unutterably amazing it is that he would show us grace at all. Moreover, the reality of hell—if we don’t push it out of our minds—will focus us, above all, on the task of proclaiming the gospel to those who are in danger of spending eternity there.

With that in mind, here are five biblical statements about hell which, taken as a whole, demonstrate why hell is integral to the gospel.

WHY HELL is INTEGRAL to THE GOSPEL

1. Scripture teaches that there is a real place called hell. … At the most basic level, therefore, if we claim to be Christians and to believe that the Bible is the word of God, we have to recognize that the Bible teaches the reality of hell. But there’s more.

2. Hell shows us how heinous our sin really is. Have you ever heard someone make the argument that no human sin could possibly deserve eternal torment in hell? It’s an interesting argument, one that reveals a lot about the human heart. Why is it that when people think about hell, they always conclude that God must be at fault and not themselves? You can see how the doctrine reveals our hearts: when we consider our own sin, our first inclination is always to minimize it, to protest that it’s not that bad and that God is wrong to say it deserves punishment.

The reality of hell stands as a massive refutation of that self- justification. Non-Christians will always see the horrors of hell as an indictment of God, but as Christians who know God to be perfectly just and righteous, we must understand that the horrors of hell are actually an indictment of us. We may want to minimize our sin, or excuse it, or try to argue our consciences down. But the fact that God has declared that we deserve eternal torment for those sins should remind us that they are not small at all. They are enormously evil.

3. Hell shows us how immovably and unimpeachably just God really is… When God reveals himself to Moses, he declares himself to be compassionate and loving, but he also says, “Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished.” The Psalms declare that “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.” What an amazing statement! If God is to continue being God, he cannot simply set justice aside and sweep sin under the rug. He must deal with it – decisively and with exacting justice…

The Bible tells us that on that day, when God sentences his enemies to hell, the whole universe will recognize and acknowledge that what he has decided is unimpeachably just and right… Romans 9:22 tells us that by the torments of hell, God will “show his wrath and make his power known,” so that he might “make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy.”

We may not understand it fully now, but one day hell itself will declare God’s glory. It will—even in its horror—testify together with the psalmist, “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.”

4. Hell shows us how horrific the cross really was, and how great God’s grace really is. Romans 3 tells us that God put forth Jesus as a sacrifice of atonement “to demonstrate his justice.” He did this “because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished.”

Why did Jesus have to die on the cross? It was because that was the only way God could righteously not send every one of us to hell. Jesus had to take what was due to us, and that means he had to endure the equivalent of hell as he hung on the cross. That doesn’t mean that Jesus actually went to hell. But it does mean that the nails and the thorns were only the beginning of Jesus’ suffering. The true height of his suffering came when God poured out his wrath on Jesus. When the darkness fell, that wasn’t just God covering the suffering of his Son, as some have said. That was the darkness of the curse, of God’s wrath. It was the darkness of hell, and in that moment Jesus was enduring its full fury—the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty.

When you understand the cross in that light, you begin to understand better just how magnificent God’s grace to you is, if you are a Christian. The mission of redemption that Jesus undertook involved a commitment to endure God’s wrath in your place, to take the hell that you deserve. What an amazing display of love and mercy that is! Yet you will only see and understand this display of love clearly when you understand, accept, and shudder at the horror of hell.

5. Hell focuses our minds on the task of proclaiming the gospel. If hell is real, and if people are truly in danger of spending eternity there, then there is no more urgent and important task than doing precisely what Jesus told his apostles to do before he ascended to heaven—proclaim to the world the good news that forgiveness of sins is offered through Jesus Christ!.. the one thing that Christians can do that no one else in the world is ever going to do is to tell people how they can be forgiven of their sin, how they can avoid spending an eternity in hell.

CONCLUSION

There is no doubt that the doctrine of hell is horrible. The doctrine is horrible because the reality is horrible. But that’s not a reason to avert our eyes and ignore it, much less to reject it. There are those who think that, by rejecting or at least ignoring the doctrine in their preaching, they are making God more glorious and more loving. Far from it! What they are really doing is unwittingly stealing glory from the Savior Jesus Christ, as if what he saved us from was… well, not so bad after all. In fact, the horrific nature of what we have been saved from only intensifies the glory of what we have been saved to. Not only so, but as we see ever more clearly the horror of hell, we look with ever more love, ever more gratitude, and ever greater worship to the One who endured that hell for us and saved us.

[DVD] Raised from the Dead

This is the remarkable story of a Nigerian pastor, Daniel Ekechukwu, who was fatally injured in a car accident near the town of Onitsha, Nigeria, Africa on November 30th, 2001. During a dramatic journey to a hospital in Owerri, Nigeria, he lost all life signs and was later pronounced dead by two different medical staff in two different hospitals. The latter wrote a Medical report and commissioned the corpse to the mortuary. But Daniel´s wife remembered a verse in Scripture from Hebrews 11: “Women received their dead raised to life again.” She heard about a meeting where Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke was going to preach, and proceeded by bringing Daniel´s body in his coffin. What follows is a story you will never forget.

The angel told Daniel in heaven: “Jesus has finished his work. The mansions are ready, but the saints are not ready.”

“We are now going to visit Hell.”

“Daniel, if the book of your life was to be closed today, this would be your portion.”

“No, I’m a pastor; I’m a child of God. I’m born-again — and I’ve preached all over….”

“Enough, Daniel, on your way to the first hospital, you were asking God to forgive you, but you would not forgive your wife. And your sins have not been forgiven. It is a matter of reaping what you’ve sown. You cannot sow unforgiveness to your wife and reap forgiveness from God.”

Report One of Four
Pastor Daniel Ekechukwu and his Resurrection from the Dead
By David Servant
Download PDF

Soon after it occurred in December of 2001, I heard the report of Nigerian pastor Daniel Ekechukwu’s resurrection via e-mail from my friend, pastor David K. Aboderin, of Lagos, Nigeria. …. I wanted to learn more about the incident.

[…]

The most surprising thing is what happened next. The escorting angel told pastor Daniel, “If your record is to be called here, you will in no doubt be thrown into hell.” Pastor Daniel immediately defended himself saying, “I am a man of God! I serve Him with all my heart!” But a Bible appeared in the angel’s hand, and it was opened to Matthew 5 where Jesus warned that if one calls his brother a fool he is guilty enough to go into the hell of fire (see Matt. 5:21-22). Pastor Daniel knew he was guilty for the angry words he had spoken to his wife. The angel also reminded him that Jesus promised that God will not forgive our sins if we do not forgive others (see Matt. 6:14-15), because we will reap what we have sown. Only those who are merciful will obtain mercy (Matt 5:7). The angel told Daniel that the prayers he prayed as he was dying in the hospital were of no effect, because he refused to forgive his wife even when she attempted to reconcile on the morning of his fatal accident.

Pastor Daniel wept at this revelation, but the angel told him not to cry, because God was going to send him back to the earth to grant the rich man’s request (see Luke 16:27-30). A man would come back from the dead and warn people of hell. The angel said that Daniel’s resurrection would serve as a sign and be the last warning for this generation.

[…]

As you may imagine, pastor Daniel greatly emphasizes in his preaching the need to forgive those who have wronged us, lest anyone suffer the fate he almost suffered. How important it is that we obey Jesus’ commandments regarding forgiveness and walking in love toward each other, as well as all the rest of His commandments. It is indeed time for the church to repent and “pursue peace with all men, and the holiness without which no one will see the Lord” (Heb. 12:14). Do not listen to false teachers who say that holiness is not essential to ultimately gain eternal life. Jesus warned that only those who do the will of His Father will enter the kingdom of heaven (see Matt. 7:21). Do not listen to teachers who say that if you are once saved you are guaranteed that you will always be saved. Jesus warned His closest disciples (see Matt. 24:1-3) of the possibility of their not being ready when He returned and being cast into hell (see Matt. 24:42-25:46).

If we expect God to forgive us, we must forgive others. That is what Jesus solemnly promised. Are you ready to stand before Jesus, sincere and blameless?

What about the theological implications of Daniel’s experience in hell?

Certainly the one aspect of Daniel’s experience in hell that is the most sobering was the angel’s declaration that Daniel would have ended up there because of his unforgiveness (if God had not had mercy on him). …

In pastor Daniel’s case, his wife had sought for reconciliation, Daniel had refused her, and then he experienced his ill-timed death. Thank God that He had mercy on Daniel, and in so doing, God has shown His mercy to all of us who are not ready to stand before Him because of unforgiveness in our hearts. …

We, too, should maintain an “open-heart” policy, always doing what we can to be at peace with others. In this regard, Paul wrote, “If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men” (Rom. 12:18). Both Jesus and Stephen prayed for God to forgive the very people who were killing them. We, too, have the same capacity to love by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Pastor Daniel Ekechukwu is now calling Christians to do what Christ has been commanding all His followers to do for two thousand years: forgive one another. And he is doing it with the passion of a man who really believes that Jesus meant what He said.

Hell Vision

October 31, 2010
PS
Twenty-eight days ago, the Holy Spirit showed me a vision in my slumber:
My wife and I were in a hotel without measure, it stretched beyond the horizon and was filled with all the desires of one’s heart; the number of rooms were countless.
On several occasions, I left the hotel and my wife followed; however, each time she returned to the room.  As I walked through the maze again to the exit, people were flowing into the hotel like a flood, but only a few could find their way out, for the exit became more and more complex to navigate, due to the multitude of distractions – if only they would follow the light!
I noticed my wife had turned around again.  When I returned to the room, my wife was laying on the bed and there was a man, a hotel employee, standing in the room.  My wife appeared to be in a trance and unclothed herself.  I asked her, what are you doing? Upon hearing my voice she clothed herself.  I then turned to the man and said what is going on?  He said, nothing is going on.  He walked into the bathroom and said, it is not what it looks like, as he vainly looked into the mirror.  When I looked into his eyes and his into mine, I saw the birth of his fear.  He said please don’t kill me, I don’t want to die.  I replied, what are you talking about, all I want to know is what is going on?
He ran from the room and I followed him.  He kept saying, I don’t want to die.  His eyes now showed an insurmountable avalanche of fear, as if his spirit became aware.  It then appeared he could not control his body, as if a powerful dark entity took over.  He placed the bible into his mouth and as it touched his lips, it burst into flames!  The fire engulfed his head, and with his other hand, he placed a pistol into his mouth through the burning bible and pulled the trigger!  I saw his soul leave his body and the Holy Spirit instructed me to follow his soul into hell, deep into the earth.  The demons told him we’ve been waiting for you.  There was wailing and gnashing of teeth, as his skin and muscles and sinews melted from his bones, and fell into a bloody heap, while his eyes beheld the terror, which were the last things to melt!  I felt he could see me, though the demons were not aware of my presence, for I was shielded by the Holy Spirit!  The demons then turned to each other and said, it is time.  As far as my eyes could see in hell, the demons were boarding what appeared to be ancient tunnel boring machines.  When the doors closed, they started to bore into the roof of hell.  The Holy Spirit instructed me to follow them, they bored through the layers of earth and when the machines broke the surface, I was awakened by the Holy Spirit to pray!
Oh my soul cried out to Jesus!  I prayed for God’s people and the lost souls on the outer edges of darkness!  I prayed for God’s watchmen and prayer warriors!  I prayed for spiritual edification and confirmation.  I looked at the clock, it was after 3 am.  The next day the Holy Spirit led me to a prayer warrior; she edified that our loved ones are being seduced back to the world.  I prayed for God’s will and strength and for further edification.  The Holy Spirit told me that the hotel represents the world, and we are in this world, but not of this world, for our true home is in heaven.  That our life in this realm of the flesh wars against the soul and our time here is but a vapor.  That God’s people are destroyed by the lack of knowledge and how easily we are distracted by the lust of this world.  That the man in the vision represents ministers that preach false teachings and doctrines that lead His people astray.  That many churches are the gateways to hell, woe unto them!
My brother, you are 1 of 3, the Holy Spirit instructed me on who to witness to and of the timing.  God be with you for we stand as free beings in Christ, proclaiming the good news of salvation across all the land, fighting the good fight with the strength of the lion of The tribe of Judah, for there is live saving, soul redeeming POWER in the BLOOD of JESUS – Hallelujah!
Your brother in Christ Jesus,

We’ve gotta job to do.
We’re runnin’ out of time to do it.
You’ve got a gift to use.
Get out in the world and use it.
Bury your foolish pride.
We’ve gotta unionize.
Hey, don’t you think it’s time
to boycott Hell?

Boycott Hell.

Don’t let a neighbor go,
form a holy picket line.
We’ve gotta let them know.

Don’t you think it’s time
to boycott Hell.

We’ve got the strength to win
standing arm in arm together.

Forget our differences,
we can change the world forever. …

I don’t believe that an apple tree’s got to do anything to become
an apple tree
.
It’s given that; it’s from God.
But it better make apples if it wants to stay
in the orchard

Jesus
in John 15:

5 I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If a man doesn’t remain in me, he is thrown out as a branch, and is withered; and they gather them, throw them into the fire, and they are burned. … 10 If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and remain in his love. 11 I have spoken these things to you, that my joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be made full. 12 This is my commandment, that you love one another, even as I have loved you.

Keith Green:

There’s nothing we can do on our own.
We’re helpless creatures without You.

And in you, Lord,
we’re more than conquerors.

Lord Jesus,
help us conquer the hypocrisy around us,
and help us conquer the hypocrisy right inside of us
through Your Spirit and through the blood you shed.

And as we go, Jesus,
let us realize that the word ‘Christian’ means little Christs,
and we’re supposed to be little Jesus walking around
,
by Your grace.

And in Jesus’ name we ask that you let that be in our lives,
in the next few days, the next few years,
so that when you come back we won’t be ashamed at Your appearing.”

1 John:

2:28 Now, little children, remain in him, that when he appears, we may have boldness, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

4:16 We know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him. 17 In this[,] love has been made perfect among us, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment, because as he is, even so are we in this world.

Imagine what Hell is like with billions of people screaming to this maximum degree, 24/7 — no breaks, forever, no hope … no way out! Now is our chance to make completely SURE we're going to heaven!

I just wrote this as a comment #37 in Bill Wiese’s 23 Minutes in Hell — What is it like in Hell?
Some readers are accusing Bill Wiese of fabricating his Hell experience, in part, thinking Hell can’t be that bad. Oh yeah?!!??

_______

For those of you who are making fun of Bill and don’t think hell could be that bad:

Perhaps you should just listen to this one dog scream in total terror, and imagine what billions of humans screaming to this same degree sound like, 24/7 — no breaks, forever, no hope of it ever stopping — no way out.

Missouri SWAT Raid 2/11/2010. Cops Shoot Pets With Children Present.

It behooves all of us to make sure we’re right enough with God and all people to be able to go to heaven. This is what the Bible really says about who really goes:

Who-Goes-To-Heaven Scriptures — Narrow is the Way

Incidentally, why do you think hardly anyone wants to study this, the most important topic, in order to totally make sure…?

Why did Paul say “work out your salvation through fear and trembling,” and so many preachers and ‘Christians’ just totally blow this off?

This is part of the great deception — ‘Christians’ James-3 cursing [praying — see my ‘Christians’ cursing people posts] that people believe their doctrines without question. And most of the people just fall into line.

Wouldn’t you say it behooves us to absolutely make sure!

Break out of the trance.

Because of willful sin that opens the doors, and because demon driven people are praying (James-3-cursing) all kinds of demon-driven prayers on people, most ‘Christians’ are inhabited by demons that not only drive them to do what is forbidden, but also keep them from peacefully, in rest, researching the truth — so we can be free!

How Many Will Be in Heaven? How Many are Finding the WAY? Only 1 in 40 — 2.5%?!!

Howard Pittman was told this 2.5% figure at the gate of heaven 30 years ago (having died on the way to the hospital) — before once-saved-always-saved was mainstream, before internet porn even existed, before the low-cut-top epidemic hit America, when more people were honest, and hate and anger wasn’t off the charts.

The figure may be less than 2.5% now.

_________

From: 888c.com

How many will be in Heaven ?

The Bible gives us a clue below when it says that: “few there be that find it.”  We might ask, how few ?

Mat 7:13 Enter ye in at [through] the strait [the narrow] gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way [road], that leadeth to destruction [leads to eternity in Hell], and many there be which go in [enter] thereat [through it]:

Mat 7:14 Because strait [small] is the gate, and narrow is the way [road], which leadeth unto life [leads to eternity in Heaven], and few there be [only a few] that find it.

Since the Bible suggests comparing a narrow way (road) with a broad way (road) to get the answer, let’s quantify this example.

A narrow way or road such as a single lane country road may be only about 10 feet wide.

A broad way or road such as an urban expressway with numerous lanes going both ways can easily be about 400 feet wide.

The ratio in this example is on the order of 1 in 40 (400 divided by 10).  How many will be in Heaven?  This example would conclude that only about 1 in 40 goes to Heaven.

Few (1 in 40) there be that find it (eternity in Heaven).

This is only about 2.5% of the world’s population making it to heaven.

Many (the other 39, or 97.5%) go to destruction (eternity in Hell).

Let’s examine another example.  On August 3, 1979, Howard Pittman describes (in his booklet “Placebo”) his near-death experience.  While the physicians were working on him, he suffered physical death.

During this death interval, he was permitted to watch 50 saints (true Christians) enter Heaven.  It was explained to him that “at the same time those 50 saints died on Earth, 1950 other humans also died; or only 50 out of 2000 made it into Heaven.  The other 1950 were not there.”

The ratio in this example is also 1 in 40 (2000 divided by 50).

Based on this example, only about 1 in 40 is going to Heaven.  (50 in 2000)

That’s about 2.5% (saints, true Christians) going to heaven, and 97.5% going somewhere else.

Hell is Real — There were some ministers there with their whole congregations gnashing their teeth on this minister: "You told us you had the truth. We followed you!"

From: Sid Roth’s It’s Supernatural

On It’s Supernatural:

At age 12, Franklin Walden was carried into the heavens
and told he would minister healing to hurting people,
and that it would be seen and heard throughout the world.
He has seen the lame walk, the blind see,
and the dead being raised to life. …

Sid: Why does one doctor call you “the miracle man”?

Franklin: Well, I left my body for 21 days.

Sid: What happened? Did you have a heart problem?

Franklin: No, I had a ruptured colon, and I almost bled to death.

Sid: So you’re laying in the hospital bed,
but you’re not in that bed, you’re somewhere else.
Where are you at?

Franklin: First I was at a place with my family,
then my wife and I went into the heavens.
God carried us to a place I believe was paradise.
Then I came back, and carried me beneath the earth,
and went into hell. That’s the sad part.

Most people don’t know, but hell is real.
When I saw what’s going on,
and heard the gnashing of the teeth
and the screams of the damned and the doomed,
then I looked and there were some ministers there
with their whole congregations
.

They were gnashing their teeth on this minister,
and he couldn’t get away.
They said You told us you had the truth.
We followed you
.”

Sid: Was that minister suffering? It sounds like it.

Franklin: Oh my, was he going through it.

[video] Bill Wiese's 23 Minutes in Hell — What is it like in Hell? — "How bad could it be? You can't breath; you can't eat; you can't sleep… you're tormented. And all this you have to endure for eternity."

Bill Wiese saw the searing flames of hell, felt total isolation, and experienced the putrid and rotting stench, deafening screams of agony, terrorizing demons, and finally, the strong hand of God lifting him out of the pit.

Wiese’s visit to the devil’s lair lasted just twenty-three minutes, but he returned with vivid details etched in his memory. Since this life-changing ordeal, he has spent the last seven years studying the Scriptures to find answers and has listed more than 150 Bible verses referencing hell.

* * *

“The scripture says in Romans 8:13, ‘if you live after the flesh you will die.’

And Jesus said, ‘if your eye offend thee, pluck it out. It’s better for you to enter into life maimed than enter into hellfire.’ And the word ‘offend’ means ’causes you to sin.’

So if you’re doing something. If you’re into pornography, if you’re just like you said, living with your girlfriend, if you’re living some compromised lifestyle, you don’t want to do that. He said that you’re in danger of hellfire.

So why would you want to take a chance and live like that.”

– Bill Wiese
