Making a Purity Covenant: Seven Practical Commitments

  1. prophetic word for IHOP-KC (march 23, 2008)
7 To the…church in Philadelphia write…, “8 I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you…have kept My word…10 You have kept My command to persevere…11 Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown. (Rev. 3:7-11)
    1. The Lord will visit IHOP-KC with an open door of glory in the spirit and a door of ministry to the nations. When Jesus opens a door of glory to release more of His manifest presence then He requires more agreement with His heart (a higher standard of obedience). We are at a crossroads as the Lord will open a door of His glory. This is a promise with a warning (of judgment).
    • 51 You shall see heaven open, and the angels…ascending and descending… (Jn. 1:51)
    • 9 How is it that you (Sapphira) agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? The feet of those who have buried your husband (Ananias) are at the door, they will carry you out. (Acts 5:9)
    1. An open door to the nations causes the “spiritual DNA” of a ministry to be imparted with its good qualities and its deficiencies. Immorality is like an infection or virus in the spiritual DNA.
  1. Jesus requires that the Church not tolerate immorality
    1. The church of Thyatira was affirmed for growing in love and faith and enduring persecution. Yet, they lacked zeal to take a stand against all allowance of immorality in their spiritual family.
    • 19 I know your works, love, service, faith, and your patience (endurance)…20 I have a few things against you, because you allow (tolerate, NIV) that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess…to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality… (Rev. 2:19-20)
    1. Immorality is “all sexual activity” that is outside the marriage covenant whether heterosexual or homosexual in all areas of life including physical, verbal or technological (internet), etc.
    2. Immorality in the Church grieves Jesus’ heart, injuries our heart and family (natural and spiritual) and gives Satan “legal doors of access” into our lives. Immorality causes Jesus to lose part of His inheritance in His people as well as part of their inheritance in Him.
    3. The church of Pergamos was affirmed for holding fast to Jesus’ name in a city so wicked that it was described as the place of Satan’s throne. Yet, they lacked zeal to confront immorality in the ministries of those who held to the doctrine of Balaam. For the story of Balaam see Num. 22-25. Jesus’ correction of a ministry or a person is not rejection but an offer of deliverance.
    • 13 I know…you dwell where Satan’s throne is. You hold fast to My name…14 I have a few things against you, because you have there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before…Israel to…commit sexual immorality…16 Repent, or I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth. (Rev. 2:13-16)
    1. The sword of Jesus’ mouth refers to His power being released in our life by the command of His mouth. If we receive the sword of His Word it will free us but if we reject it then it will hurt us. He sends His sword as our friend or foe, depending on how we respond.
    2. Judgment begins in God’s house with God’s sword. If we voluntarily judge ourselves with the sword of God’s Word then He need not judge us in a more severe way with His sword.
    • 17 For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God… (1 Pet. 4:17)
    1. The option to reverse God’s judgment is offered to all who repent (Rev. 2:16, 23). Repentance dramatically changes things as it positions us to receive God’s mercy and our full inheritance.
    • 17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart— these, O God, You will not despise. (Ps. 51:17)
    1. Jesus promised to make a way of escape for us both as a movement and as individuals.
    • 13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; God is faithful, who
    • will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. (1 Cor. 10:13)
    1. IHOP-KC made a covenant before the Lord on March 24, 2008 to consistently, comprehensively and tenderly resist all forms of immorality in our midst. In this covenant, we asked the Lord to open a door of glory with His sword of deliverance or His sword of judgment (if we refuse Him).
    • 10 It is in my heart (Hezekiah) to make a covenant with the LORD…11 My sons, do not be negligent now, for the LORD has chosen you to stand before Him…15 And they gathered their brethren, sanctified themselves…to cleanse the house of the LORD. (2 Chr. 29:10-15)
    1. The Lord will release bold zeal and clarity of conviction that is filled with the tender mercy of the Bridal paradigm. We seek purity that flows from humility and tenderness not angry holiness. We do not have to choose between zeal for high standards and tender mercy. We can have both.
    • 13 Mercy triumphs over judgment. (Jas 2:13)
    1. The Lord promised to release the “grace of immunity” which includes “amnesty” for our past failures before we made this covenant on March 24. Immunity is the state of being immune to a disease or the condition that permits resistance to disease. Amnesty is a pardon for offenses granted before the trial because of an act of forgiveness for past offenses.
    2. The Lord wants us to have confidence in God that we will not come under His judgment for our past sins as we make this covenant together. Confidence in God is essential to spiritual vitality. He wants us to know the immunity from the “infected thinking” of the accumulated affect of shame (for past failure), fear of rejection (in being exposed), hopelessness (of experiencing a breakthrough), and of giving up on our highest calling. He wants our commitment to be strengthened by confidence as we proceed together. We are to have solidarity as a spiritual family in our unified stand to bring this “Purity Covenant” to the nations knowing the enemy will strike hard in a counterattack against us.
  1. seven personal commitments before the Lord (6 month commitment)
16 Confess your trespasses to one another…that you may be healed. (Jas 5:16)
    1. Commitment #1: I commit to refuse to participate in conversations that promote or joke about immorality. If I do speak in this way, I will confess to those I was conversing with that I sinned.
    2. Commitment #2: I commit to confess to the same trusted friend (who embraces this covenant) each time I view pornography or have any sexual contact with someone (not my spouse).
    3. Commitment #3: I commit to register with the technology of choice that promotes the wisdom and safety of accountability whether or not I struggle with pornography. Accountability Software: These programs track your internet activity and send an email to the accountability partner that you choose. If you uninstall the software it triggers a report to your partner. See www.covenanteyes.com ($2.50 per month); www.x3watch.com (Free); www.integrity.com (free); www.accountable2you.com (free). Web Filtering Software: Programs that block sexual content including pornography, gambling, violence: www.integrity.com ($49.95); www.bsafehome.com ($49.95); www.intego.com (For Mac’s); www.cyberpatrol.com (39.95).
    4. Commitment #4: I commit to hold any confession of my friend’s failure in strict confidentiality. If I do speak it to another then I commit to tell it to the one who confessed their sin to me. The one who breaks confidence should confess also to the one to whom he broke the confidence.
    5. Commitment #5: If I “repeatedly” stumble in immorality, I will show the fruit of repentance by going with my friend to confess to the leadership and then accept the boundaries they give me.
    6. Commitment #6: I commit to share with the leadership if my friend “repeatedly” stumbles in immorality. I will first tell my friend before sharing with a leader to convince him to go with me.
    • 15 If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. 16 If he will not hear, take with you one or two more…17 If he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. (Mt. 18:15-17)
    1. Commitment #7: For leaders: I commit to follow the process of bringing those who ‘continue’ in immorality to the appropriate level of “discipline” instead of offering them “unsanctified mercy”.
    • 20 Those who continue in sin, rebuke in the presence of all… (1 Tim 5:20, NAS)
    • 5 Deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. (1 Cor. 5:5)
    1. We will not bring public shame to anyone who repents. We hope to never expose one’s sin publicly. There are many levels of discipline that do not require personal exposure.
    • 8 Above all things have fervent love…for love will cover a multitude of sins. (1 Pet. 4:8)
    • 9 He who covers a transgression seeks love… (Prov. 17:9)

Wes Hall: It's Not Just Porn! "You're asking for power and there are areas of hidden compromise in your life. … I'm not talking about the R-rated movies. I'm talking about the PG-13s … certain sitcoms, TV shows where your spirit is being defiled."

Transcribed by Jeff Fenske from IHOP awakening, 1/2/10 PM

Some of you say: ‘God, commission me,’ but there’s pockets of darkness in your lives — secret, hidden sin.

I felt like the Lord gave me two words: lust and perversion — lust and perversion, immoral thinking — agreement with darkness — in areas of lust and pornography and perversion and perverse behavior, talking and lewd talk, immoral talk — filthy jokes — things that you watch, compromise in the things that you watch.

I’m not talking about the R-rated movies. I’m talking about the PG-13s — where you feed your spirit on perversion. I’m talking about certain sitcoms, TV shows where your spirit is being defiled by thinking in the ways of the world.

There is no room. There is nothing that darkness has to do with light. And you’re asking for power and there are areas of hidden compromise in your life.

The Lord is saying to you now: there is a window to repent. There is grace to repent and turn from that.

What has darkness to do with light? You’re saying, “God, send me as a messenger of light, but there’s a pocket of darkness in your soul.

I’m not talking about great introspection: “Lord, where is it?” I’m talking about those things that the Holy Spirit brings to mind right now. …

You need to confess that as sin before the Lord, right now. I encourage you to confess it before the Lord, right now. Make a determination in your heart to turn from it, right now.”

Wes Hall: IHOPU Awakening Testimony — "I was leading that first class … We had some SKEPTICS who came in … I WAS ONE of them" — "THAT RIVER that flows from the throne"

Transcribed by Jeff Fenske

I tried to get a hold of the worship leader to come and lead us in a worship song, because, you know, when we worship Jesus the flesh kind of dies down. But what happened:

We began worshiping Jesus and His activity intensified!

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBXACTfrYQE]IHOP Awakening Wes Hall Testimony

The Lord showed up at our classes at IHOPU, and began releasing His joy, began releasing a fresh window of His presence and setting many of our students free from chains of self-hatred and shame, and encountering those who never encountered the love of the Father in a real meaningful way. The love of the Father was a concept, but now it has become a reality.

And we had some skeptics who came in. In fact, I was one of them. I was leading that first class, and things started getting a little bit crazy in the class — and I’m the provost of the university. And I was holding onto this podium and I couldn’t stand up. I was pinned to the floor.

And the class was going crazy. There were some of the most sensible students rolling on the floor, laughing for about an hour and a half.

And I thought, you know what, this has got to be mostly the flesh and a little bit the Holy Spirit.

And so I tried to get a hold of the worship leader to come and lead us in a worship song, because, you know, when we worship Jesus the flesh kind of dies down. But what happened: we began worshiping Jesus and His activity intensified.

I was like, ‘okay, You’re doing something unique here.’ And so the Lord began touching some of us who pride ourselves on being sedate and in our right mind for the gospel.”

Ezekiel 47 speaks of the River that flows from the throne of God. And it says it’s a River of Life, and it’s a river that brings life and it brings healing wherever it goes. The Lord says I’m releasing My Holy Spirit. I’m releasing that River that flows from the throne of God. It starts at the throne of God.

And the Holy Spirit is not a thing. He’s a person. He is God. And He’s pictured as a river, but it doesn’t mean you can scoop Him or do backstroke in Him — because He is God.

But He comes like a river to bring life to the barren areas of our hearts. And He’s come because He wants to flow like a river, not just in us, but through us. But until we encounter the life of the Spirit in our inner man, that River is like damned up. It comes into us but it never flows through us.

And if you study Ezekiel 47, you will see that that river flows from the throne, and it ends up in the sea. And it brings life to the sea. And in the sea is suddenly a multitude of fish.

The Lord says that I want that River of Life to flow in you, to break down every barrier to My love, to break down every barrier to you being who I created you to be.

We have testimony after testimony after testimony of how the Lord has released His life in new ways. In an instant, deliverance from demonic affliction; in an instant, deliverance from years of addiction, same-sex attraction; deliverance in an instant from eating disorders, self-hatred, shame — things that have taken years years of counseling. In an instant, the Holy Spirit has come with His power and set people free and set hearts free.

And sometimes when the Holy Spirit touches us, He reacts in a funny way with our bodies….”

Wes Hall: Why do people laugh and shake under the power of God? | "The Lord has released a revelation of the Father's love I'll never forget"

Transcribed by Jeff Fenske from IHOP Student Awakening, 12/18/09
Wes Hall explains some of what has been going on for six weeks now at IHOP (International House of Prayer). It was in Wes’ classroom that the revival broke out:

When the Holy Spirit hits your body, sometimes your body does unusual things, because we’re not talking about 50,000 volts [he had just explained what it felt like to be personally hit with a taser during a recent security demonstration], we’re talking about very God interacting with your human body to set you free from bondages and sicknesses and depression and all manner of things. And sometimes your body can’t handle the power that is needed to set you free, and you start shaking and laughing and doing funny things.”

______________

The Lord has released a revelation of the Father’s love I’ll never forget.

The first day that this awakening began, a young man comes shaking up to the platform. … I said, ‘do you normally do this?’ He said, ‘no, I made fun of everybody who used to do this. I thought it was flaky and weird.’ And he goes, ‘I can’t stop.’

And I said, ‘what has the Lord done for you?’ He said, ‘I have three dads’ — he is one of our students here — ‘I’ve had three fathers during my life. ‘I have never understood the love of the Father experientially in my life. I’ve never understood it. It’s never been a reality to me.’

He goes, ‘I’ve been to every person’s Father-heart seminar and paid tons of money to get the revelation of the Father, and it never took.

And he said in a moment, God broke in and revealed Himself as a father to him. And he says, ‘and I just can’t stop shaking under the power of God.’

What weeks and decades of inner healing couldn’t do the Lord has done in a moment.

The Lord has set free pastors who have been in ministry for years — those who have preached on the love of God — those who have ministered to people from shame and self-hatred, but themselves never felt the love of God. And the Lord in an instant has set them free.”

I’ve gotta go deeper, deeper
The River flows!

I get lower

I’m encouraged!
A song with The River theme was HOT at the IHOP revival last night! And then they sang “YOU are Good” — my favorite song from John Tesh’s Worship at Red Rocks. (Red Rocks Platinum is still available for $12 — 2 CDs & 1 DVD!)

Lord You are good
And Your mercy endureth forever

You are good, all the time
All the time, You are good

Red Rocks was good, but this last 45 minutes of today’s 6-hour revival was INCREDIBLY, POWERFULLY WONDERFUL!!!!!!! I probably watched it 5 times already (possible for subscribers).
Worship leader was Matt Gilman. Awesome job! All the glory to God!!! Everyone was having so much fun — clean fun! And the lead guitarist— WOW!! I hope The Edge gets to see this. This is how U2 concerts should be — clean, with hearts magnifying God! And…
And Jesus was clearly smiling too; and smiling on — empowering — making this night sooooooo special!!!!!!!
And then the clapping sounded like Riverdance!!!
It would be great if IHOP would put together a best-of DVD set, or post some of this online. If anyone finds key footage somewhere, please let me know.
May God’s people arise!

Drink from THE WELL that will never run dry!
Drink from THE WELL that will never run dry!
Drink from THE WELL that will never run dry!!!

Psalm 46

1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

2 Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas;

3 though its waters roar and are troubled, though the mountains tremble with their swelling. Selah.

4 There is a river, the streams of which make the city of God glad, the holy place of the tents of the Most High.

5 God is in her midst. She shall not be moved. God will help her at dawn.

6 The nations raged. The kingdoms were moved. He lifted his voice, and the earth melted.

7 Yahweh of Armies is with us. The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

2 Cor. 1:3-5

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound to us, even so our comfort also abounds through Christ.

1 Cor. 10:13

No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

'Revival' Happening at IHOP (International House of Prayer in KC)

This isn’t what I would call ‘ONE’ yet, which may not happen until we get our doctrines right, especially salvation doctrine. But it’s GREAT to see people being set free (though many still aren’t out of the danger zone)!
Many are powerfully and visibly being touched by God — set free from pornography, homosexuality, anger — and healed, emotionally and physically!

A letter from Mike Bickle and Lou Engle concerning the critical hour in which we live.

It is time to encounter God and take action.

We stand at a critical juncture in our nation’s history. It is time to encounter God and to take action. The Holy Spirit is visiting His people with power. At the same time, the powers of darkness are raging against the moral fabric of our nation. The light is getting brighter as the darkness gets darker.

Many of you will have heard of the spiritual awakening at our Bible school. On Wednesday, November 11, the Spirit fell on a class for more than 15 hours. The word spread quickly and over 2,000 people spontaneously gathered in the auditorium from all over Kansas City, as deliverance and physical healings continued to increase. We canceled our classes for the next week so that each one of our 1,000 students and interns could receive from the Spirit in an extended way.

We decided to meet nightly from 6:00pm to midnight because His manifest presence continues to increase. Visitors are pouring in from many places across America to partake of this spiritual awakening.

I’ve finally shared much of what I know about and what can be done through the TREMENDOUS and mostly misunderstood and underused gift of tongues. A reader thankfully put me over the edge : )

I finally spilled the beans about what I know about praying in tongues. It started with this very much appreciated comment by Monica, where I lay it out.

I first respond by talking about forgiving to get free, and then share what I’ve learned and refined since the early ’80s about how to get free by praying in tongues, how to pray for others to get free — even how we can know who is cursing us (bullies beware), lying to us, etc..

And it’s all related to this part of the Let Us Be ONE prophecy: A Gift that Will Set Many Free! (A Death Warrant is Out for Your Souls)

Someday, I’ll probably write this up more formally. But this should help many a lot — those who choose to read this cutting edge, freedom producing overview of what tongues is really about and why it’s for everyone!

God bless!

The people of Uganda call it Balokole. In the Luganda language it means “the saved ones,” but the word became synonymous with the East African Revival˜one of the most significant Christian movements in modern history.

This revival had humble beginnings in September 1929, just before America’s Great Depression. Historians trace it to a prayer meeting on Namirembe Hill in Kampala, Uganda, where a missionary to Rwanda, Joe Church, prayed and read the Bible for two days with his friend Simeoni Nsibambi. They felt God had showed them that the African church was powerless because of a lack of personal holiness.

It is impossible to explain exactly what happened after this prayer meeting or how the resulting spiritual fervor spread. When God comes, unusual things happen. Within weeks after the Rev. Church returned to Gahini, Rwanda, Christians gathered to pray and confess their sins openly. A heavy spirit of conviction fell on the people. Whenever they repented for their sins and failures they would weep uncontrollably, ask others to forgive them and pledge to make restitution.

The weeping spread to farmlands and open fields. Unbelievers who visited these gatherings were converted after they witnessed the sincerity of the Christians. Repentance went deep. Husbands publicly apologized for adultery and farmers repented for stealing cows from each other. Eventually, as the revival spread from Rwanda to Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Burundi, even the centuries-old tradition of polygamy (which was still common among professing Christians) was unraveled in some areas.

Balokole changed African Christianity forever. In a 1986 article for Christian History, Michael Harper writes of the revival: “It’s effects have been more lasting than almost any other revival in history, so that today there is hardly a single Protestant leader in East Africa who has not been touched by it in some way.”

I spent the past two weeks ministering in Uganda and Kenya, and everywhere I went I met people who still talk about the East African Revival˜80 years after it began. It breathed resurrection power into dead, traditional churches and triggered aggressive church-planting movements that affected a variety of denominations.

Whether sermons were delivered from pulpits or under trees, six important themes were emphasized in those days: 1) the blood of Jesus; 2) the name of Jesus; 3) the cross of Jesus; 4) the Word of God; 5) the testimony of the saints; and 6) the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

Leaders also stressed the message of 1 John 6-7: “If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His son cleanses us from all sin (NASB).” As was true in other spiritual awakenings in history (such as the Asbury Revival in Kentucky in 1970), people stood in front of each other and admitted their sins, no matter how embarrassing. The honesty cut deep into human pride and dealt a fatal blow against entrenched sin and religious hypocrisy.

After hearing more details about the East African Revival while I was in Uganda last week, I was convinced that this type of movement is the only thing that will pull the United States out of its current despair.

We must have a spiritual awakening, or we die. Political engineering, economic policies, government bailouts and stimulus packages will not save us. No politician, Democrat or Republican, will reverse our course toward destruction.

Our only hope is that a backslidden American church˜a church that is as smug, blind and lukewarm as the Laodiceans-˜will “be zealous and repent” (see Rev. 3:19).

What encourages me is that God, not man, initiated all the spiritual awakenings of the past˜including the First Great Awakening, which gave our country its historic Christian identity. Yes, we play our feeble part by praying, and we must storm heaven. Yes, awakenings come in response to our weak attempts to repent, and we must passionately seek a fresh baptism of holiness.

But we cannot manufacture revivals. [I disagree. God has been manufacturing a permanent revival for decades but the church refuses to be Holy Spirit led. God won’t make us repent and get right with those who have been hurt. He won’t make us follow Him. The Holy Spirit has been actively calling us to repent for decades. I know, because I have been one of those whom God has tried to speak through, and the resistance has been shockingly powerfully active and fierce, especially from church leaders. See my ‘Christians’ Cursing People Posts. The James-3 cursing is done mostly in secret (continuing to this day), but I’ve also been accused of being divisive while pleading for unity — Jesus’ heart-cry for us to be ‘ONE’ in Himself (John 17). At one point, I got so frustrated that I wasn’t spirit-led either. I ended up saying too much to those who would listen and had to apologize. The point is that God has wanted real Christianity throughout the church age, and perhaps a real revival 10 or 20 years ago (even just five) would have averted what is soon coming to our once-great nation. But it’s not too late to save ourselves spiritually, and maybe even then to some extent physically – editor, Jeff Fenske] Pentecostal fire comes from heaven alone. It is a sovereign blessing from a God who loves us and desires to rescue us from ourselves. We charismatics have generated a lot of our own sound and fury in the past 30 years, but much of what we have created is a shameful substitute for revival. We must become desperate for the real thing.

Today our movement is mired in the shallow waters of self-centered, carnal Christianity. May God mercifully send us our own version of Balokole. May gut-wrenching repentance and public confession of sin interrupt our trendy worship services. May this holy fire spread until the people of the United States see genuine Christians living the message we preach.

This is what I call elsewhere in this blog, partysville, a put-on joy of the Lord, complete with fake smiles, “hah, hah, hah,” but inwardly there can be even hate and control, for which James 4 is the remedy: The Remedy for James-3 Cursing & Partysville in Today’s Church is James 4.
When people are right with God and their neighbors, when we’ve truly entered into His rest, the presence of God can be tangibly felt. Love comes from within, from the Holy Spirit. The joy of the Lord is natural, not manufactured by man. There’s no hype, just people resting in God, right with each other.
Then pastors [most pastors today are con-men (confidence-men) — con-artists] won’t have to say: “that was great worship.” It will be obvious to everyone that it really was. And the presence of God won’t stop when the music stops — all resting in God, right with each other.
“Then the world will know,” Jesus said in John 17 — instead of “THE SHOW must go on.”

From: acidri’s blog

“The show must go on” is a well-known phrase in show business, meaning that regardless of what happens (such as the lead performer breaking a leg), the show must still be put on for the waiting patrons. The other day a church invited teenagers to come to church and play a game Halo3 with the hope that they would in so doing meet Christ. This is the modern day evangelism, connection with the youth as it is. Another church was offering Wii game consoles to any body who accepted Jesus into their hearts.

Is it possible that in the last days there will come times of difficulty? People will be lovers of self… lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power? [Whatever] happened to the power of the gospel? Does Christ have to be disguised to a point where we use sleight of hand? Is this the level to which friendship evangelism has fallen?

When love begins to sicken and decay it uses an enforced ceremony. [Julius Caesar]-William Shakespeare

Many great men of God in the Bible kept the show going. Putting on an [outward] façade that all was going well despite having long lost the anointing. So take heed. Samson lost his hair, the symbol of his anointing while he slept and woke up saying, “I will go out as at other times and shake myself free.” But he did not know that the Lord had left him. Too many programmes and activities do not mean growth. Counterfeits and hypocrites cast the same shadow of deception. Sometimes a deception can bring in many converts because it is appealing. Well, the show just keeps going on. But the Spirit of God is not in it.

A Crossless Church; A Christless Gospel

From: acidri’s blog

The spiritual ignorance of the modern day believer is cushioned by social media and mass television programming that never talks about sin, righteousness or judgement. It’s no wonder when Paul writes of such a time as when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions. 2 Tim 4:3,  2Pe 2:1-3, 1Tim 6:8-10, Heb 13:5

There’s hardly any difference between the pursuits of the secular and Christian believers. Materialism is the preoccupation of the spiritually deluded and lost. When self importance and temporary life enhancement  preceed self denial and good discipleship then man begins to wonder into pursuit of a seemingly moving target.

Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons 1 Tim 4:1

For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things. Phil 3:18-19

There indeed was once a time when the deepest urge of a Christian was to be like Christ. But like the Laodicean Church we have said I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked. Jesus beckons, “I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness may not be seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, so that you may see.” Rev 3:17-18.

The most gut-wrenching bit about all this is that the Church in Laodicea  seemed to have locked Christ out of “Church” as in the next verse He earnestly pleads and says I stand knocking on the door if any one hears my voice and opens the door I will come and eat with him and he with me.

Remember those who have run the race and fought the fight and have passed on ahead into glory. Remember their parting sermons and songs. They stayed true to the calling; true to the word of God. It’s time to get back to scripture and seek God like never before. We need a sense of urgency that only the Holy Spirit can give. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

A. W. Tozer (1897-1963): "What is needed DESPERATELY today is PROPHETIC INSIGHT. Scholars can interpret the past; it takes PROPHETS to INTERPRET the *PRESENT*"

Ephesians 4:

10 He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things. 11 He gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, shepherds and teachers; 12 for the perfecting of the saints, to the work of serving, to the building up of the body of Christ; 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a full grown man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14 that we may no longer be children, tossed back and forth and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error; 15 but speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him, who is the head, Christ; 16 from whom all the body, being fitted and knit together through that which every joint supplies, according to the working in measure of each individual part, makes the body increase to the building up of itself in love.

PROPHETIC PREACHING
-by A.W. Tozer.

If Christianity is to receive a rejuvenation, it must be by other means than any now being used. If the Church in the second half of this century is to recover from the injuries she suffered in the first half, there must appear a new type of preacher. The proper, ruler-of-the- synagogue type will never do. Neither will the priestly type of man who carries out his duties, takes his pay and asks no questions, nor the smooth-talking pastoral type who knows how to make the Christian religion acceptable to everyone. All these have been tried and found wanting.

Another kind of religious leader must arise among us. He must be of the old prophet type, a man who has seen visions of God and has heard a voice from the Throne. When he comes (and I pray God there will be not one but many), he will stand in flat contradiction to everything our smirking, smooth civilization holds dear. He will contradict, denounce and protest in the name of God and will earn the hatred and opposition of a large segment of Christendom. Such a man is likely to be lean, rugged, blunt-spoken and a little bit angry with the world. He will love Christ and the souls of men to the point of willingness to die for the glory of the One and the salvation of the other. But he will fear nothing that breathes with mortal breath.

This is only to say that we need to have the gifts of the Spirit restored again to the Church. And it is my belief that the one gift we need most now is the gift of prophecy.

“Of the sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, their chiefs were two hundred” -1 Chr 12:32. A prophet is one who knows his times and what God is trying to say to the people of his times….

Today we need prophetic preachers; not preachers of prophecy merely, but preachers with a gift of prophecy. The word of wisdom is missing. We need the gift of discernment again in our pulpits. It is not ability to predict that we need, but the anointed eye, the power of spiritual penetration and interpretation, the ability to appraise the religious scene as viewed from God’s position, and to tell us what is actually going on….

Where is the man who can see through the ticker tape and confetti to discover which way the parade is headed, why it started in the first place and, particularly, who is riding up front in the seat of honor?…

What is needed desperately today is prophetic insight. Scholars can interpret the past; it takes prophets to interpret the present. Learning will enable a man to pass judgment on our yesterdays, but it requires a gift of clear seeing to pass sentence on our own day….

“Lord, I pray for that gift of prophetic insight. Move me beyond the knowledge You’ve enabled me to gain through education, reading, and study. I pray that I might lead as one ‘who has seen visions of God and has heard a voice from the throne.’ Amen.”

WITHOUT REVIVAL THE PEOPLE PERISH: Why the Present Church Doctrine Makes Revival Unlikely [Or Why Sound Doctrine Would Make Revival Likely]

WITHOUT REVIVAL THE PEOPLE PERISH
Why the Present Church Doctrine Makes Revival Unlikely
.

THE NEED FOR REVIVAL AND ITS DIFFICULTY

Dr. Stanley Monteith, host of many radio and internet hours on Radio Liberty.com, usually ends his program by asking the audience to pray for revival and for his ministry. He has stated that the only hope for saving America from destruction in the near future would be by revival. I think God will let Satan destroy America unless we can get back on God’s side in Satan’s war with Him. Many individuals need to revive spiritually but are unaware of it because many of today’s Protestant pastors do not teach congregations that they need to stop sinning. For the last fifty years in America that idea has simply been ignored – which is a way of covering up the need for it. For that reason the revival that is necessary to save America is very unlikely; it will require a lot of help from God and a lot of prayer from us because God will not help us unless we ask for it.

There are many deceptions that are keeping revival from occurring. The western world has been brainwashed and blinded to the need for revival. This is occurring in churches and in all the other major organizations that are in control of what people think and supposedly “know.” We are all living in an illusion created for us by the enemies of God.

Are those enemies affecting what the church teaches? “Dr. Stan” also repeatedly mentions that the message and the music of the church have been changed in the twentieth century – and it is not for the better. The purpose of the treatise you are reading is to explain in considerable detail how and why the message has been changed.

Before God ends the history of the earth his enemies plan to destroy the American civilization we have known. The destruction of the earth in “the day of the Lord” will be by God’s unilateral action; but the destruction of America is being implemented by deliberate actions of men who are led by the serpent who deceived Adam and Eve. God is allowing Satan to rule over us until or unless his “born-again” believers start following Him instead of the devil. As God says, they need to “humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (2 Chron. 7:14)

THE NEED TO KNOW THE TRUTH

The reader should patiently bear with this complex exposé of how and why we are being told things which are not true. Unless we understand how and why that is happening we will not know who our enemies are and what we must fight against to be on God’s side. And unless I can tell you the truths of the Gospel that are being concealed or covered-up by the brainwashing we have all received we will remain blind to the deceptions and continue on in the illusion to our doom.

For 50 years churches have avoided teaching about the consummate importance of living righteously and what will happen to Christians who fail to do so. Christians used to be told they could go to hell if they sinned, but not anymore. One of the church’s reasons for not doing that today is that it is being too “negative” about the gospel and using “scare” tactics instead of preaching only about God’s love for sinners. So they throw out the baby with the bath water. But there are several other reasons also, which we shall see.

The Apostle Paul’s writings contrast drastically with the doctrine most Protestant churches proclaim today that has been created mainly by using some of his statements. A mass revival will be impossible in America unless churches again teach the basic truths that have been omitted and concealed in the last two generations. The most essential truth is that believers who willfully, deliberately continue to sin against God and his commandments will not go to heaven; they will end in that “negative” destination that no one wants to talk or hear about.

BELIEVERS CAN GO TO HELL IF THEY CONTINUE TO SIN

BUT THE CHURCH DENIES IT

Believers can still go to hell for continuing to sin. Although the penalty for sin is death, we should realize that it means both physical death and hell. The term “the second death” is a euphemism for hell, because it really means eternal life in hell instead of heaven.

There are innumerable warnings about hell in the Bible which are not being taught to us anymore. There are four passages especially that hit the target directly. Hebrews 10:23-39 is the most frightening and direct about what will happen to Christians who keep sinning because they do not think they can stop or have given up trying. But three other very direct and compelling warnings that can be seen easily are in Galatians 5:19-21, First Corinthians 6:7-20, and Second Thes. 1:7-12. It would be well worth your time to study those three yourself and realize what Paul is saying to Christians today. We will study the Hebrews passage together.

[video] Sid Roth Interviews John Paul Jackson On The Coming Perfect Storm. "The Woes of 2012! The Woes of 2012!" And Beyond-Asbury, 'ONE'-Happens, All-Get-Healed REVIVAL!!!!!!!

[Portions of transcript below]

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRTglw2Q8o0]

God has given proven prophet John Paul Jackson insight into the future of America. This week John Paul shares what God has shown him of a coming “Perfect Storm” capable of bringing unpredictable calamity to the United States through the elements of war, politics, economics, religion and geophysical issues. Hear John Paul discuss these future events and how you can prepare for the coming Perfect Storm.

Select excerpts from the It’s Supernatural transcript, (available here as pdf file):

SID ROTH: Now you saw some specific dates. What were they?

JOHN PAUL JACKSON: I saw the year 2010 was going to be very difficult, especially as you get further into 2010. I saw the year, I kept hearing an angel saying in a deep loud voice, “The woes of 2012. The woes of 2012. The woes of 2012.” I don’t know what those woes are, Sid. The angel did not tell me about those woes. But there was more emphasis on those woes than almost anything else that I was given.

[…]

JOHN PAUL: Some of the things I saw that were going to be coming or were quite shaking. And one of them was the issue of drought and the issue of water becoming very, very expensive, and at some point in the future, there will be cities that water from tap, right from your kitchen faucet will be more expensive than oil is. So it’s not like talking about going to the store and buying a gallon of water. We’re talking about water that’s normally fairly inexpensive becoming very expensive. In fact, some of the things that I saw was there would be various cities in the United States that would have to evacuate thousands of people because there wasn’t enough water in the reservoirs and in the aquifers that they get the water from, to get water to all the people.

SID: What about food?

JOHN PAUL: I saw a blight coming to hybrid seeds, and that would bring a type of famine to the United States. So the hybrid seeds that have been propagated by various large, huge corporations [Monsanto – editor], supposedly resistant to all kinds of things, there’s something in the DNA structure of how they propagated everything, and it will actually allow for a blight to come. Some of the seeds won’t break the ground. Some of the seeds will break the ground but never bear fruit, and so you’ll end up seeing maybe green out in the fields. There will be enough rain for them in certain areas, but they won’t come to seed. So there won’t be the corn that will be normally in the ear. There won’t be the wheat that is normally in the head of wheat. So that creates a major food shortage.

SID: Will that increase crime?

JOHN PAUL: Which would increase crime. Right.

SID: What did you see?

JOHN PAUL: Well crime, I saw crime increasing for several reasons. One, economically because there’s so many people unemployed. We’re at double-digit unemployment. And I’ve been talking about as high as over 12 percent unemployment before it’s all said and done. And that was way before, you know, at that time it was 4.5 percent, I believe, when I started talking about. But I also saw unemployment because of the economic decisions that are going to be made. I also saw the food shortages further harming the unemployed because food will be so expensive they couldn’t afford to get it. And so then, you end up seeing people actually robbing food trucks that would carry food to grocery stores. And when they would come and there would have to be armed guards riding the food trucks in order to keep the food truck waylaid or hijacked.

SID: It sounds to me like there’s going to be a great deal of fear going on.

JOHN PAUL: Yeah. One of the plans of the enemy–There’s going to be fear because of just God saying, “I’m God, you’re not,” and one of return of the fear of God to the church, first and foremost, and then to the nation. But one of the plans of the enemies is going to try to capitalize on that fear. So you have enemies of the United States that are going to be doing issues. Both China as well as the Islamic community are doing things to the United States. They’re going to begin to generate fear. And so they’re going to be doing things with the school systems. They’re going to be doing things with malls, shopping malls. There will be explosions in shopping malls that will make people afraid to go to high-traffic areas like malls would be.

SID: As a matter of fact, you saw a lot of malls closing down.

JOHN PAUL: I did. I saw a lot of malls closing down, and interestingly enough, because of the storms that happen in some of the cities, the malls were actually used as housing for the people who didn’t have homes.

SID: Hmm. And then you saw a migration of people out of the big cities.

JOHN PAUL: I did. I saw a migration of people out of big cities because of the fear that was there. There was fear of what would happen in the school systems. There was fear of what was going to be happening in just high-traffic volume areas.

[…]

SID: And with all this devastation that you see–

JOHN PAUL: Right.

SID: You saw the glory of God invading Planet Earth.

JOHN PAUL: I did.

SID: Tell me what you saw.

JOHN PAUL: Well the Bible talks about a time of Jacob’s trouble, a time of incredible hardships, incredible difficulties. But a lot of people don’t look at what the Lord said about the Jacob generation. The generation that’s going to see that trouble, is also going to see His glory. For in Psalms 24, it talks about the glory of God that’s going to come in. Who is this king of glory? That is the chapter that asks that incredible question. And it talks about what is going to happen. “He who ascends to the mountain the Lord with clean hands and a pure heart has not lifted up his soul to vanity.” These type of people are going to see incredible things of God. And what I saw, was I saw the glory of God invading His church again. I saw the glory of God invading homes again. I saw the glory of God invading places of worship.

SID: Get specific.

JOHN PAUL: The glory of God, what I saw was like it was thick, it was honey-like, it was like you see on the road. On a hot day, you look down the road and you’ll see a shimmering on the highway. Well this happened in the churches that I saw and the places where the Lord came down. There was a shimmering like a cylinder, a large cylinder, and varying sizes of cylinders of this shimmering, honey-colored, amberesque-colored light. But it was very thick. It was thicker than what you thought. When you got into it, you found it very difficult to move, not because you were paralyzed, but because of the thickness of the presence of the Lord. And whoever entered, Sid, anybody who walked into that glory was healed. Anybody. Anybody.

SID: Oh I love it. Let’s have it on this show.

JOHN PAUL: Amen. And I watched people; I watched mothers and fathers cry out for their children in that cylinder of glory, in the glory of God. I watched them cry out. And before they were done praying, the children ran into the sanctuary, ran into the place of worship, ran into the home declaring that they had been touched by God, and they were giving their life to Yeshua, and giving their life to the Messiah who they had now seen.

SID: You saw multiplication of food. Explain.

JOHN PAUL: I saw multiplication of food. I saw where there’s no food on tables, people, this Jacob generation would close their eyes and pray, and they would hold hands in unity, and while they were praying, food would be put into the pots that were the table. They took the lids off the pots, and there was the food, and they delivered and dished out the food to the people who were praying there. And this didn’t happen at one location. It was multiple, multiple locations. God is drawing us back to a purity of relationship with Him through Jesus.

SID: Speaking of purity, you saw in the Church no absolutes. What did you mean?

JOHN PAUL: Well I saw a growing time where the Church failed to realize the absolutes of God. They began to diminish the Word. And so there was no absolute way to get to God. And then there became no absolute one God. So then, it ended up being more of a polytheistic view of God or many types of God. And each one of us have our God…

SID: You saw horrible immorality in the church.

JOHN PAUL: I saw horrible, horrible immorality in the church. It was going to be–

SID: Some of the things you talk about here, it’s difficult to even express.

JOHN PAUL: It is. It is so vile. It is so ugly.

SID: But there’s got to be a separation of God’s people, of Jacob’s generation.

JOHN PAUL: Right.

SID: And everyone else.

JOHN PAUL: It’s a Malachi 3 passage. It says, “And there’s a clear distinction between those who know God and those who don’t know their God.” And that’s what we’re going to begin to see, Sid. We’re going to see a clear separation, a clear distinction. We’re going to see leaders arise in the midst of turmoil. We’re going to see people with ideas that meet the needs of people in the midst the turmoil. We’re going to see people with innovations that meet and facilitate the delivery systems, and systemization of things. And these will be the believers that God shows his secrets to.

SID: Supernatural wisdom.

JOHN PAUL: Supernatural wisdom. Exactly.

SID: It’s the Issachar.

JOHN PAUL: Here’s a verse that’s very important. It’s found in Psalms 25:14. “The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him.” Now what is the secret of the Lord? It’s anything that God hasn’t revealed. Meaning, how do you do this? What is the secret to DNA? What is the secret to this particular type of healing process? What is the secret to various things? And you’re going to have people being given secrets from the Lord, because He’s going to keep his covenant with them.

Chuck Crismier: 7 Reasons Why Saints Are Easily Seduced Sexually And Spiritually

“It is the last time”

As ye have heard that antichrist shall come,
even now there are many antichrists;
whereby we know that it is the last time.

I John 1:18
.

7 Reasons Why Saints Are Easily Seduced Sexually And Spiritually

1. They are conforming to the ways of the world
(Rom. 12:1-2).

2. They “love not the truth”
(II Thess. 2:10).

3. They have “pleasure in [un]righteousness”
(II Thess. 2:12).

4. They do not truly love God
(I Jn. 5:2-3, Rev. 14:12).

5. They have lost the fear of the Lord and do not truly believe they face judgment (Mal. 2:17, 4:2, Psalm 86:11, Hebrews 12:25-29).

6. They “love the praises of men more than the praise of God” (Jn. 12:43).

7. They are not diligent “to make their calling and election sure (II Pet. 1:10).

WHO IS the GREATEST PROPHET? How many prophets do you know who are preaching repentance?

From: Andrew Strom

WHO IS the GREATEST PROPHET?
-by S. Hill.

Would that be Ezekiel due to the intensity of his visions? Would that be Isaiah due to the accuracy of his revelation of Jesus? Would that be Daniel due to his wisdom and ability to interpret dreams that kept him at the power centers of two world empires? Would that be Enoch who had such a powerful encounter with God that he literally was not here anymore?

According to Jesus the greatest prophet was John the Baptist who came preaching “repentance for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand”. So far as we know John never had a vision, dream or angelic encounter. Yet Jesus called him the greatest prophet!

How many prophets do you know who are preaching repentance?

It is difficult for them to preach repentance from the practice of casual divorce and remarriage since such would close “ministry doors” to them and offend folks who pay for their conferences and buy their books.  But Jesus did so in Matthew 19:9!

It is difficult for them to preach repentance from selling the gospel and making merchandise of the people of God since most have embraced the same values.  But in Matthew 10:8 Jesus commanded us to freely give as we have freely received. In II Corinthians 11:5- 21 Paul said that the  difference between the true and the false was not in message, anointing or gifting but in how they related to the people and money!

It is difficult to for them to preach repentance from self promotion,  the love of position and title since most have embraced celebrity status but Jesus did so in Matthew 23:1- 12.

It is difficult for them to preach repentance from seeking special experiences and angelic encounters since those experiences are their tickets to “prophetic” status in a world that values experiences above obedience.  But Paul did so in Colossians 2:18- 19.

You cannot preach repentance from inside the camp!  You support the camp.  You can only preach repentance from outside.  The court prophets support the court.  The prophets from the wilderness are free to preach repentance.  That is why Hebrew 13:13 calls us to follow Jesus outside the camp.

Jesus said that “the pure in heart shall see God”. The result of true repentance should be a pure heart to see God.

Once you see God the claims for revelation from the prophets will literally be seen in a different light.  Once you see God all dreams, visions and words will take their proper place.  That some talk about third heaven experiences as casually as a trip to Pizza Hut and claim to be able to teach others how to have them, shows that they have never been farther than their own imaginations.

Maybe the fascination of the general church world with the supernatural experiences, dreams, revelations  is simply because few of them have ever seen God?  Maybe we put prophets in a wrong place because we do not have God in the right place?

Maybe we would be less fascinated with “supernatural experiences” if we understood the vision of God that Jesus presented to us? Yes, He came to show us the Father but He also said that if we served the least, we served Him.

He placed the face of God on every suffering child.

The pure in heart will see God and when they do the whole religious game of status, money, recognition, book sales and numbers will fade away.  They will see God and they will see His face as the face of human need and they will serve.

Jesus is the greatest Prophet!
Hear Him!

Something Good is Going to Happen? Abbott Loop CC Cup — "Jesus is Lord." We MUST Die In Order To Live!!!

Watch this place: Abbott Loop Community Church, it’s now called. This is where I attended Bible school and had many great moments.
I also learned a lot of really hard lessons — “a torture chamber” — but better days ahead.

After attending there yesterday morning, I decided to put together this shot (with mostly Alaska wildflowers) —— for something really good may soon bloom!

I’ve been drinking out of these cups for decades, hoping…

May we be truly ONE in Christ — no messing around.

Those who have been hurt…
what about them?

Will love happen?

Will you humble yourselves
and admit…?

“Then the world will know…”
and see…

Jesus’ heart-cry in John 17 realized

ONEcanhappen when Jesus is Lord!

Life in the Son!

I almost forgot: the cross and the wheat logo on the right cup
The idea comes from what Jesus said in John 12:

24 Most certainly I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains by itself alone. But if it dies, it bears much fruit. 25 He who loves his life will lose it. He who hates his life in this world will keep it to eternal life. 26 If anyone serves me, let him follow me. Where I am, there will my servant also be. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.

Paul taught (and Frank taught in Bible school) Jesus is The Pattern in Php 2:

1 If there is therefore any exhortation in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any tender mercies and compassion, 2 make my joy full, by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind; 3 doing nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself; 4 each of you not just looking to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others. 5 Have this in your mind, which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, existing in the form of God, didn’t consider equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, yes, the death of the cross. 9 Therefore God also highly exalted him….

12 So then, my beloved, even as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God who works in you both to will and to work, for his good pleasure.

14 Do all things without murmurings and disputes, 15 that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you are seen as lights in the world.

And in my logo at the top of the page is Galatians 5:22-24:

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, 23 gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts.

We must die in order to truly live!
Let’s do it! Let’s be million candlepower lights — our flesh crucified — like Him — Christians!

Coach Daubenmire: The Hirelings are Responsible

America is in dire need of a revival. It will never happen with the hirelings currently occupying our pulpits. It is at their feet that we must lay the killing, stealing, and destroying of the Christian heritage from this nation. It is time for a reformation*.

*reformation?
I’ve long said that what we need is a reformation of The Reformation. Luther didn’t get it, and neither are the vast majority of our current day church leaders. Their cisterns won’t hold water. They can’t pull us out of this mess, but some of them could if they had the right tools, the right idea.
Why isn’t God showing up, eh? He wants to.
I agree with what the coach says here. The cause for the fall of America is the church leaders. But beneath that, the deepest cause is the false doctrine that prevails in pulpits and on ‘Christian’ radio and TV.
My heart longs for people (even some of these church leaders who are often well meaning) who will be willing to discuss what the Bible really says about who goes to heaven, tithing, ‘Christians’ cursing people, power-under verses power-over, being totally right with God and people (Jesus’ Greatest Two Commandments!), even Holy Spirit led — the points I address in this site.
Let’s talk. Please?

From: News with Views

…last week I promised to take on another issue, that of “the hirelings” in the pulpits.

Let me remind you that I am not a theologian; I have never attended seminary, and do not consider myself an expert on any Biblical issue. But I can read, and I can think. As I have taken time to do as the Bereans who “searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so” I have found that many things I previously had been taught just simply did not line-up with Scripture. It was through my own study that I ran across something that up to now no one has been able to refute to me. Perhaps you can….I am not afraid of the Truth. …

John 10 is clear if read with an open mind. Hirelings are Pharisees and the Pharisees were hirelings….professional “ministers.” Jesus warned us about both.

How can we possibly restore righteousness to this nation when we can’t even get those who stand in the pulpit to honor the Word of God? How can we expect our elected officials to stand publicly against evil when the “men of the cloth” are too cowardly to do so?

Jesus’ anger was not directed towards the secular government but towards those who changed his house of prayer into a “den of thieves.”(There are those thieves again) He cleaned the house and today we need to do the same.

Christians have lost all credibility with the world. For the most part the public image of Christian leaders is money grubbing, hypocritical, and Republican, a far cry from the Christ we claim to serve.

America is in dire need of a revival. It will never happen with the hirelings currently occupying our pulpits. It is at their feet that we must lay the killing, stealing, and destroying of the Christian heritage from this nation. It is time for a reformation.

Instead of all of this talk about “reclaiming America” perhaps we should refocus on reclaiming our faith. Has there ever been an institution with more pathetic leadership than we see today in American Christianity? Nothing is more debilitating to an army than cowardly leadership.
