[Warning] Men: May we not lust watching the Super Bowl today

Men,
Word is out that today’s Super Bowl will have the “sleaziest ads of all time.” It will be almost impossible not to sin unless our guard is up to the max or by avoiding the spectacle completely. And lust is a salvation issue, regardless of what is taught (or what isn’t taught). I’ll explain.
This is serious!

The Kingdom of Heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force – Jesus (Matthew 11:12b)

It’s not okay to look. That is the Devil’s lie. Nowhere is this in the Bible. Our hearts must be pure.
And the TV won’t give us a warning so we can look away when body parts appear.
If we just willfully lust one time, it lets the lust demons in. And it’s so subtle that most “Christian” men in America probably have given in, and are in danger of losing their salvation. And this is even true of pastors.
I had a dream years ago in which I was told that I was in danger of losing my salvation because of willfully lusting while watching TV. And then I was told a summary of what Jesus said in Matthew 5, which I’ll present in full here.

“You have heard that it was said, a ‘You shall not commit adultery;’ but I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart. If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish, than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna. If your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off, and throw it away from you: for it is profitable for you that one of your members should perish, and not your whole body be thrown into Gehenna. (Mt. 5:27-30)

Jesus is saying here that we need to do whatever is necessary to not sin in this way so we won’t be thrown into hell if an airplane engine would fall through the roof. There is no other way to read this or the numerous other warnings in the Bible, which I’ve summarized.
If this means not watching the game, or preemptively looking away or bouncing the eyes every single time, then this is what we have to do. We need to fight to win!!!
We must worship God, not His creation (Rom. 1).
I’ll share a vision I had that may help illustrate what happens.
I saw a lust demon just outside of my body. He couldn’t get in because I hadn’t lusted in my heart. But then I did think just one lustful thought and ah ha! His face burst into a big smile, and he jumped in! For I had given him the right to enter—a “place” (‘topos’ in Greek—not a “foothold” like the NIV erroneously says). This is similar what happens with unforgiveness/anger and a spirit of bitterness in Eph. 4:27. And this is the state of many, if not the vast “Christians” and “pastors” in America today. And many don’t even know that its largely lust demons that are driving them to sin in this way.
If we’re driven, we’re not free. The only way to be safely lust free is to be 100% vigilant, gazing not at the unclean thing at all in this fallen world, in which we’ll stand out as lights in this dry and weary land—full of the joy of the Lord—free!!!
Prov. 4:20-27

My son, attend to my words.
Turn your ear to my sayings.
Let them not depart from your eyes.
Keep them in the midst of your heart.
For they are life to those who find them,
And health to their whole body.
Keep your heart with all diligence,
For out of it is the wellspring of life.
Put away from yourself a perverse mouth.
Put corrupt lips far from you.
Let your eyes look straight ahead.
Fix your gaze directly before you.

Make the path of your feet level.
Let all of your ways be established.
Don’t turn to the right hand nor to the left.
Remove your foot from evil.

May we be freeeeeeee!
And ONE!

Benny’s version back on YouTube here:

Benny Hester: “When God Ran”

• • •

It’s too bad that Benny’s now-secular-owned record company chooses to ban this song on YouTube, which will certainly NOT help record sales. But I’m not sure that’s their main goal. It was a sad day when the Christian record companies sold out to the corporatocracy.
I first heard this wonderful song played at the Evanston [Ill.] Vineyard in about 1990, during the pastor’s message, entitled ~”The Father-Heart of God.” It’s one of my all-time favorite songs, and the other renditions I see online aren’t anywhere nearly as powerful as Benny’s original version.
Since we can’t hear the song, I now include here some of the lyrics.
Oh, here’s a version at Vimeo!

Almighty God,
The Great I Am
Immoveable Rock,
Omnipotent powerful

Awesome Lord,
Victorious Warrior
Commanding King of Kings
Mighty Conquerer,

And the only time,
the only time I ever saw Him run
Was when

He ran to me,
Took me in His arms, held my head to His chest
And said “My son’s come home again”.
Looked in my face, wiped the tears from my eyes
With forgiveness in His voice
He said “Son, do you know I still love you?”

It caught me by surprise when God ran

The day I left Home,
I knew I’d broken His heart …

Lust: A Discussion Within—BODY (heart?), MIND & SPIRIT

The key is to stop this internal discussion before it gets rolling–to nip it in the bud–to not give the Devil a ‘place’–an entry point (as it is with anger–Eph. 4:26,27).
Once the place is given, however, demons can then actually drive the heart’s desire to lust, cranking up from what maybe was a 3 to a 10! Many people live like this constantly–never finding FREEDOM.
Paul said: “To be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” (Rom. 8:6)
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts.” (Gal. 5:22-24)
This is normal in order to be a child of God.
We must obey.
Freedom in Christ!!!

“Sometimes my mind wants to do one thing, like when it comes to, let’s say, I see a beautiful woman.
And my body says, ‘boy, it would be nice to be with her.’
And my mind says, ‘yeah, but if I do and she’s married, I might get caught; I might face the consequences’–a very logical reasoning.
And then my spirit says ‘that’s morally wrong to have sex with her outside of marriage.'”

Jesus shows in Matthew 5 that lust originates in the heart, and leads to death:

27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: 28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. 29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. 30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

This is a very serious matter.
We must overcome and be free!

Carlos Santana: “If you fight with joy, you’re the solution”

Transcribed by Jeff Fenske from: Herbie Hancock: Possibilities, The Movie Channel, 2006

“This is the thing, man. We don’t have to worry about anybody else’s doing. All you need to do is that:
Everyday it’s a battlefield. But if you fight with anger, you’re the problem. If you fight with joy, you’re the solution.”

Conviction is from your soul. You have to go out there with conviction and say, ‘you can’t stop me. You cannot break my spirit.’ Before I go [strongly exhales] and I’m done with this body there will be some hearts that will be touched by my spirit.”

– Carlos Santana

The Day that Tithing Ended, to Now Be Led By the Holy Spirit — No-More-Tithing Scriptures

The Day that Tithing Ended, to Now Be Led by the Holy Spirit — No-More-Tithing Scriptures

Compiled by Jeff Fenske

The better, new covenant way:

John 16:13 (WEB) …when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth….

Gal. 5:18 (WEB) But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

2 Cor. 9:7 (WEB) Let each man give according as he has determined in his heart….

Rom. 8:1-4, 14 (WEB) 1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death. 3 For what the law couldn’t do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh; 4 that the ordinance of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. … 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God.

1 John 2:20, 27 (WEB) 20 You have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all have knowledge. … 27 As for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you don’t need for anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, you will remain in him.

Paul never mentions tithing, but says giving should be determined in our hearts, the deepest seat of our emotions. Giving isn’t meant to be a brain-only, formula based, emotion free decision. We are to feel right, deep within, about to whom and how much we give.

2 Cor. 9:7 (WEB) Let each man give according as he has determined in his heart; not grudgingly, or under compulsion; for God loves a cheerful giver.

Tithing puts people under a curse?/ the day tithing ended/ ”fallen away from grace”/ led by the Spirit:

Gal. 3:10 (WEB) For as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse. …

Gal. 3:13 (WEB) Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree.” [The Day that Tithing Ended]

Gal. 4:4 (WEB) But when the fullness of the time came, God sent out his Son, born to a woman, born under the law, 5 that he might redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of children. …

Gal. 4:21 (WEB) Tell me, you that desire to be under the law, don’t you listen to the law? …

Gal. 5:3 (WEB) Yes, I testify again to every man who receives circumcision, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. 4 You are alienated from Christ, you who desire to be justified by the law. You have fallen away from grace. …

Gal. 5:18 (WEB) But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

The elders gathered in Jerusalem to determine what should be retained from the old covenant, and tithing wasn’t one of them:

Acts 15:5 (WEB) But some of the sect of the Pharisees who believed rose up, saying, “It is necessary to circumcise them, and to charge them to keep the law of Moses.”

Acts 15:6 (WEB) The apostles and the elders were gathered together to see about this matter. …

Acts 15:22 (WEB) Then it seemed good to the apostles and the elders, with the whole assembly, to choose men out of their company, and send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas: Judas called Barsabbas, and Silas, chief men among the brothers. 23 They wrote these things by their hand: “The apostles, the elders, and the brothers, to the brothers who are of the Gentiles in Antioch, Syria, and Cilicia: greetings. 24 Because we have heard that some who went out from us have troubled you with words, unsettling your souls, saying, ‘You must be circumcised and keep the law,’ to whom we gave no commandment; 25 it seemed good to us, having come to one accord, to choose out men and send them to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, 26 men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 27 We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who themselves will also tell you the same things by word of mouth. 28 For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay no greater burden on you than these necessary things: 29 that you abstain from things sacrificed to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality, from which if you keep yourselves, it will be well with you. Farewell.”

The commandment to tithe was “annulled because of its weakness and uselessness.” Now we have a better way, through which we draw near to God, to be led by Him:

Heb. 7:4 (WEB) Now consider how great this man [Melchizedek] was, to whom even Abraham, the patriarch, gave a tenth out of the best spoils. 5 They indeed of the sons of Levi who receive the priest’s office have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brothers, though these have come out of the loins of Abraham, 6 but he whose genealogy is not counted from them has taken tithes of Abraham, and has blessed him who has the promises. 7 But without any dispute the less is blessed by the better. 8 tithes, but there one receives tithes of whom it is testified that he lives. 9 So to say, through Abraham even Levi, who receives tithes, has paid tithes, …. 15 there arises another priest, 16 who has been made, not after the law of a fleshly commandment, but after the power of an endless life: 17 for it is testified, “You are a priest forever, According to the order of Melchizedek.”

Heb. 7:18 (WEB) For there is an annulling of a foregoing commandment because of its weakness and uselessness 19 (for the law made nothing perfect), and a bringing in thereupon of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.

The much-quoted, Jesus’ admonition to tithe applied only to before he died on the cross and before the veil was rent (so we can all enter the Holy of Holies to talk to God directly). The Levitical priests are now all replaced by Jesus, our High Priest, who then sent the Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth (including to know to whom and how much to give).

Matt. 23:23 (WEB) “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint, dill, and cumin,a and have left undone the weightier matters of the law: justice, mercy, and faith. But you ought to have done these, and not to have left the other undone.
