‘Just War’ Doctrine Abandoned in America
Throughout the last 2000 years, humanity has been violent, many wars have been fought for many reasons, and much of humanity has adhered to Christianity. The very fact that wars occur, even among Christian nations, was a horrible thought, as Christianity is very clear that its adherents were to be peacemakers.
This dreadful dichotomy between the ideals and goals of peace, and the reality and harshness of life and the ‘necessity of war’, has meant that Christian thinkers from very early on had to grapple with the issue. We are commanded that murder is wrong by the Ten Commandments. Yet we also know that we have a responsibility to defend our families, communities have a responsibility to protect the citizens in them and, of course, that governments have an obligation and responsibility to protect and defend their people and enforce justice among the members. The taking of human life is wrong.
Therefore, Christianity worked out the Just War Doctrine, that laid out the various issues related to justice and war, and even though its foundation is Christian in origin, it is such a useful doctrine that any country can use it whether Christian or not, and it is extremely helpful in many areas of human relationships, not the least of which is foreign relations. …

The Seven Tenets of the Just War Doctrine:
- A just war can only be waged as a last resort. All non-violent options must be exhausted before the use of force can be justified.
- A war is just only if it is waged by a legitimate authority. Even just causes cannot be served by actions taken by individuals or groups who do not constitute an authority sanctioned by whatever the society and outsiders to the society deem legitimate.
- A just war can only be fought to redress a wrong suffered. For example, self-defense against an armed attack is always considered to be a just cause (although the justice of the cause is not sufficient–see point #4). Further, a just war can only be fought with “right” intentions: the only permissible objective of a just war is to redress the injury.
- A war can only be just if it is fought with a reasonable chance of success. Deaths and injury incurred in a hopeless cause are not morally justifiable.
- The ultimate goal of a just war is to re-establish peace. More specifically, the peace established after the war must be preferable to the peace that would have prevailed if the war had not been fought.
- The violence used in the war must be proportional to the injury suffered. States are prohibited from using force not necessary to attain the limited objective of addressing the injury suffered.
- The weapons used in war must discriminate between combatants and non-combatants. Civilians are never permissible targets of war, and every effort must be taken to avoid killing civilians. The deaths of civilians are justified only if they are unavoidable victims of a deliberate attack on a military target.
By these principles, that build upon one another, you can begin to see in how many ways our current foreign policy and reasons for war have violated the tenets that Americans, people of western civilization and Christians in general have held for years.
The first thing that is made plain: There is NEVER a justification for PRE-EMPTIVE war. All of America’s friends, allies and even the enemies took note that America had abandoned tradition and history and decided to go to war pre-emptively. That means that ANY COUNTRY, any leader, any provocation of any type could bring war down on their heads without recourse to diplomacy, negotiations, third party interventions. It made America DANGEROUS AND UNPREDICTABLE. It made our enemies step up their preparations for protective and possibly aggressive warfare. It also gave other countries an out and out justification to strike at us without warning, by any means they may choose.
It has put America and Americans in the greatest danger we have EVER been in.
The Just War Doctrine holds human life, and the well being of societies, to be of primary importance, and that the only point to war is to address damage that has been done already to a people and to return everyone to a state of peace as rapidly as possible.
The Constitution of the United States actually embodies the Just War Doctrine, implicitly if not explicitly. …

This is worth listening to.
But what hardly any pastors are teaching, including Osteen and MacArthur, is Jesus’ stated goal for us in John 17. Jesus prayed that we’d be ‘ONE,’ that the world would know.
Jesus said He would give us His GLORY to help us and empower us to be ‘ONE’ in Him and with each other, that the world would know.
Pastors should be teaching the absolute necessity for holiness and RECONCILIATION — right relationships with each other and God — actually abiding in Christ — being led by the Holy Spirit, God Himself — resting — filled with the Holy Spirit.
Then the world will know.
I don’t hear hardly any pastors talking about reconciliation — let alone leading by example — apologizing to those whom they’ve hurt — making sure they are right with everyone.
The time is short. Let’s get our act together before it’s too late. The Third Great Awakening is way overdue.
May we be ‘ONE’!

I just got a dream about US torturing. While sleeping, I heard very clearly these words:
“Why torture me? Why does the criminal government of America torture me?”
Then, for about an hour, I got all kinds of prayers for those involved, especially those who insist we vote for Presidential candidates who will continue the torture that was escalated during the Bush/Cheney regime. And I prayed for those who insist people don’t vote for Ron Paul, the “Jesus’ Golden Rule” candidate.
And then I heard, awake this time: “The first thing to repent of is First Love.”
Which I assume involves the Greatest Commandment, not loving the Lord, our God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength — so then we don’t do the Second Greatest Commandment either: love our neighbors as ourselves. To many are following the crowd instead of the HOLY Spirit.
Then I heard: “Give to me your pride.”
“Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall” (Proverbs 16:18). Regardless of what our country is doing, please, let’s be holy and not participate in this madness that is destroying our country as we illegally and immorally hurt others.
In the first statement I heard, tonight, God actually calls our government a “criminal government.” I thought of how both Bush and Cheney won’t fly to certain countries now, afraid of being arrested for war crimes against humanity, but evangelicals are still voting for the same type of leaders.

I attended 33 of the 36 Rodney Howard-Browne meetings in 1992 in Anchorage, Alaska, in which violinist, Maurice Sklar played with great anointing.
One time, during group worship, WE COULD HEAR THE ANGELS SINGING. The keyboardist took his hands off of the keyboard to make sure it wasn’t his instrument.
The singing was the most beautiful and compelling I have ever heard — transcendent — a sound having so much upward energy that I would never tire of.
It sounded like it was coming from above the worship team, but in front of the stage [not anywhere near the loudspeakers].
Maurice and I were among the many (including my mom — so timely because Dad had recently died) who were GREATLY touched by the Holy Spirit during those 36 meetings, of which I attended 33.
One time, I wanted to talk to Maurice about microphones, but he was so touched by God that he had more important things on his mind.
Thank you, Maurice, Rodney and Anchorage Christian Center (now called City Church) — and Jesus!!!
May we make a home for God so He can dwell among us in fullness of joy and power!

Just War and the Iran Crisis

It would be wrong for the United States to engage at this time in an attack on Iran or to participate substantially in an Israeli action.
Before launching an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities, we must pause to reflect on whether such military action is morally justifiable. As heirs of the West, we Americans have the privilege of drawing upon a tradition of moral reflection on war that is at least 2000 years old. The greatest philosophers and theologians of our history have contributed to the “just war” theory, including Cicero, Ambrose, Augustine, Thomas Aquinas, Vitoria, and Suarez, and this tradition has been embraced by a broad consensus of theologians and moral theorists from many religious and secular backgrounds. Just war theory embodies two principal ideas: the sacredness of human life, and the impermissibility of “doing evil that good may come” (as St. Paul put it in Romans chapter 3).
For the sake of argument, I will assume in this essay the worst possible case….

Joe Schimmel’s “They Sold Their Souls for Rock n Roll” exposé is fascinating. I’ve watched the entire 3 hour and 10 hour versions many years ago, when they were VCR videos. This helps us really understand how Satan has used rock and rap to demoralize and spiritually weaken society.
It’s especially interesting to hear the actual quotes from the musicians we know, as well as what some of their lyrics really say.
The first video in this 4-hour version, starts out with the Columbine shooting. It can be started at the 15-minute mark to avoid that, or at the 21-minute mark to get more right into the music exposés. And then you can skip around if it’s not a band you’re interested.
What this doesn’t cover is country music, which I think is just as deceptive — in some ways even more so — because many country musicians hide behind Mom, God and apple pie, and of course, America — while they then push sex and the reverse-Christian wars in the name of God and country. Many listen to country as they drive around town in their big pickup trucks, living the reverse-Christian dream…

According to a new study carried out at the National Institute on Aging in Baltimore, fasting for one or two days each week may help improve the condition of individuals suffering from Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Researchers have found that stopping nearly all food intake for short periods of time triggers a protection mechanism within the brain which also works against the effects of neurodegenerative disorders.
Calorie intake impacts the brain
Professor Mark Mattson, lead author of the study and professor of neuroscience at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, explained at the American Association for the Advancement of Science in Vancouver that “reducing your calorie intake could help your brain, but doing so by cutting your intake of food is not likely to be the best method of triggering this protection. It is likely to be better to go on intermittent bouts of fasting, in which you eat hardly anything at all, and then have periods when you eat as much as you want. In other words, timing appears to be a crucial element to this process.”
The science team lead by Dr. Mattson discovered that reducing food intake to approximately 500 calories per fasting day yields optimal effects and can significantly improve long-term cognitive function. Foods that may safely be consumed during fasting days include an assortment of fiber-rich vegetables, unsweetened tea and water.

Paul was targeted with voter fraud and manipulation in many states, some of which has been proven, but the main reason Ron isn’t winning is because most evangelical ‘Christians’ will only vote for warmongers, which is so reverse-Christian — especially since we’ve been lied to about the real reasons for previous wars of this century; even the CIA doesn’t know for sure if Iran even has a nuclear bomb program at all; and it seems these same people are very reluctant to look at the solid 9/11 evidence that proves that those planes could not have taken down the twin towers (which I prove here at ToBeFree).
9/11 was the New Pearl Harbor needed so the people would back the globalists’ wars and accept the police state. Those who supported both Bush wars and the torture, and don’t want to admit they could be wrong — even though Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, and Afghanistan had little to do with it also.

It’s baffling to me how ‘Christians’ would be the main warmongers, along with the country western people. For almost every ‘Christian knows this verse:
“If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
And:
“Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord.”
War is supposed to be the last resort, not the first. I don’t hear much of a call for repentance or following the Holy Spirit.
We are living in a reverse-Christian society in which the ‘Christians,’ who are supposed to be salt and light, are poisoning this land — turning many people in many nations away from Christ, the Prince of Peace.

America is going down. Our only hope now is revival, real Christianity, ‘ONE’ (John 17) happening, so we can be filled with the Spirit and the grace we’ll need to navigate the difficult times ahead.

How did Ron Paul lose Alaska?

Paul’s ardent supporters here in the 49th state were on Wednesday casting a wide net, including allegations of polling impropriety, disenfranchisement and other shenanigans by Alaska Republican Party officials.
As the only Republican presidential candidate to make the lonely journey to Alaska this election cycle, and with a groundswell of support from the state’s libertarian-leaning independents, many national pundits and local political watchers had expected a Ron Paul win here on Super Tuesday.
It did not come to pass. Paul ended up placing third in Alaska’s presidential preference poll. Mitt Romney won Alaska by the skin of his nose, taking 32.4 percent of the vote, according to The Associated Press. Rick Santorum, in what seemed surprising, came in a strong second here, taking 29.2 percent. Paul received 3,175 votes, or 24 percent of the turnout. That should net Paul about six delegates to the GOP National Convention in August.
It all amounted to some serious, post-Super Tuesday head scratching for the Paul 2012 campaign after their man had lost three states he’d been predicted to win, including Alaska, Idaho and North Dakota.
Some of us attended Bible school in the structure on the left, still standing.
