Confronting the Error of Hyper-Grace

The biblical message of grace is wonderful, glorious and life-transforming. We can’t live without it for one second of our lives. But there is a message being preached today in the name of a new grace reformation, mixing powerful truth with dangerous error. I call it hyper-grace.

One of the foundational doctrines of the hyper-grace message is that God does not see the sins of his children, since we have already been made righteous by the blood of Jesus and since all of our sins, past, present and future, have already been forgiven.

That means that the Holy Spirit never convicts believers of sin, that believers never need to confess their sins to God, and that believers never need to repent of their sins, since God sees them as perfect in his sight.

It is easy to see how such teaching can be dangerous, especially to a believer being tempted to compromise.

One hyper-grace teacher wrote this: “When God looks at me, He doesn’t see me through the blood of Christ, He sees me—cleansed! Likewise, He sees us as holy and righteous. He sees us, and He loves what He sees!”

Really? Always? 24-7? God always loves what he sees when he looks at his people?

Yes, he loves us, but does he always love what he sees?

Did Jesus love what he saw when he rebuked five out of seven congregations in Asia Minor in Revelation 2-3? Did Paul, writing on behalf of the Lord, love what he saw when he warned the Galatians that they had fallen from grace and become trapped in legalism? Did James, also writing as a servant of the Lord, love what he saw when he rebuked his readers for being “friends of the world” and “adulterers and adulteresses”?

Do We Sin Every Day or Sin All The Time?

How distressing it is to hear a professing Christian nonchalantly say he sins all the time or sins every day! Such a person is a victim, held captive and duped by the popular security in sin, counterfeit grace, false gospel of once saved always saved, which has sent multitudes of once regenerated people to hell. After a solid indoctrination into that license to sin theology, the proponents are practically ruined spiritually with no fear of God, no fear of the dangers of sin or hell and basically disinterested and unable to discuss the things of God with a real Christian. Of course, they continue to believe they have awaiting them a sure arrival into Paradise and God’s holy loving presence as they openly admit they sin every day and all the time!

Unwittingly, the sad and deceived victims of the sin every day (or we sin all the time) belief are saying that it is impossible for them or anyone to obey God, for if one did obey God then he would not sin all the time! They are also indirectly admitting they are slaves to sin by saying they sin every day or sin all the time, but also think they are Christians who possess eternal life, which is violently antithetical to Biblical Christianity. They have no awareness of the basic radical changes that exist when one becomes a Christian:

But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life (Rom. 6:22)

The sin every day and sin all the time people have no clue that only the OBEDIENT have eternal salvation (Heb. 5:9)….

John MacArthur Gets The
Skull And Crossbones Award

Calvinist, John MacArthur gets the Skull and Crossbones Award for changing the grace of God into a “license for immorality” (Jude 4) with the following statements:

Yes, someone says, but can’t Christians put themselves outside God’s grace? What about those who commit abominable sins? Don’t they nullify the work of redemption in themselves? Don’t they forfeit the love of God? Certainly not … it’s preposterous to think that we can forfeit it [salvation] by anything we do. (John MacArthur, Jr., The Love of God, Word Publishing, 1996, p. 159, emphasis mine)

Believers will often fall into sin, but their sin is not more powerful than God’s grace. (John MacArthur, Jr., Saved Without A Doubt, Chariot Victor Publishing, 1982, p. 45, emphasis mine)

NOTE: As Charles Stanley teaches, You cannot outsin the grace of God, John MacArthur teaches EXACTLY the same way! In fact, John MacArthur teaches WORSE by also saying believers often fall into sin. Don’t misinderstand John MacArthur’s doctrine. He teaches a license to sin as a Calvinist. The above is clear proof, but there is even more. In his so-called “Study Bible” under his comments on 1 Cor. 6:9-11, John MacArthur comments:

Some who used to have those patterns of sinful life were falling into those old sins again, and needed reminding that if they went all the way back to live as they used to they were not going to inherit eternal salvation, because it would indicate that they never were saved (The MacArthur Study Bible, 1997, p. 1736)

NOTE: The listing of sins in 1 Cor. 6:9,10 identifies the unrighteous, not believers, but John MacArthur shockingly declares that a true Christian can commit ALL of those sins! However, the true Christian can’t go all the way back as before, for that would prove he was never really saved after all, according to John MacArthur. If he stops short, ever so slightly, from going all the way back, his salvation is real even though he is in those vile sins! That is not holiness! Here is the listing of sins that John MacArthur commented on:

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God. (1 Cor. 6:9-11, NASB)

The Sovereign God who perfectly understands grace disagrees with John MacArthur. Rev. 21:8 is a clear passage which God spoke from His throne about who will NOT enter His kingdom. The Apostle Paul, the real grace teacher, gives us other Holy Spirit inspired lists in 1 Cor. 6:9,10; Eph. 5:5-7; Gal. 5:19-21; etc. Who will YOU believe? Also, please note: John MacArthur, known for “Lordship” theology, teaches the same as Charles Stanley and Charles Ryrie on the believer’s security!

But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars — their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death (Rev. 21:8).

For of this you can be SURE: No immoral, impure or greedy person — such a man is an idolater — has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient (Eph. 5:5,6).

The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God (Gal. 5:19-21).

**John MacArthur To The Adulterously Married**

Under the subheading of Those That Are Illegitimately Divorced and Remarried John MacArthur teaches the obscene:

Now, there is only one other category. Some of you are saying, “I have a problem. I fouled up my marriage when I was a Christian and got a divorce that wasn’t legitimate. Furthermore, I am an adulterer (or an adulteress), because I remarried when I had no grounds. What is my status?” Well, you’re a sinner – welcome to the club. If you’ve already violated God’s laws as a Christian and you were illegitimately divorced and remarried (in other words, you’re in a union that the Bible defines as an adulterous union), you have only one recourse – to confess the sin, tell God the sorrow of your heart, and stay in that same union … (John MacArthur, Jr., On Divorce, Moody Press Edition, 1985, Chicago, p. 98, emphasis mine)

That is clear proof that John MacArthur is saying they would be lifestyle practicing adulterers, which he denies is possible at other times. Furthermore, he doesn’t say such lifestyle practicing adulterous people were false converts, but consoles them by welcoming them into the club of sinners! Moreover, he tells such adulterers to just tell God they are sorry and confess their adultery! According to John MacArthur, no turning away from their adultery (repentance) is needed for their forgiveness. John MacArthur’s teaching, therefore, is a poison-filled wicked abomination. BTW, the mere fact that John MacArthur denies King David lost his salvation when in adultery and murder should be enough to prove John MacArthur has a skewed understanding of Scripture.

WARNING! Dear reader, for your soul’s sake avoid John MacArthur’s Calvinistic version of saving faith. It is NOT the message of the Bible! John MacArthur needs to take to heart the compelling evidence found in The Believer’s Conditional Security, repent of his dangerous false teachings, and openly renounce his Calvinistic doctrines! Eternal Security is not true.

It’s true. Many charismatics are a bad example, particularly because most pastors now teach once-saved-always-saved (or it’s hard to lose one’s salvation), just like MacArthur. So sin is rampant, and the Holy Spirit hardly appears: “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” Evil spirits can then manifest and make a mockery of the spiritual gifts.

John MacArthur’s war against the Holy Spirit gifts is throwing the baby out with the bathwater, because he believes all spiritual gifts, including hearing from God ceased in 100 A.D., whereas once-saved-always-saved is the culprit.

Horrible!

Besides teaching the truth about who really are the children of God, the solution is also reconciliation:

Fundamentalist pastor John MacArthur is a gifted preacher, author and lover of Scripture. His Grace to You radio program points countless people to the Bible, and his Master’s Seminary trains hundreds of ministry leaders. He’s a staunch Calvinist….

In John MacArthur’s rigid world, anybody who has sought prayer for healing, claimed a miracle, received a prayer language, prophesied, sensed God speaking to them, felt God’s presence in an emotional way or fallen down on the floor after receiving prayer has already stepped out of the bounds of orthodoxy. … “No other movement has done more damage to the cause of the gospel.”

He doesn’t just write off fringe elements of our movement; he skewers the original founders of Pentecostalism and even goes after Baptist author Henry Blackaby for teaching that God can speak to people today.

MacArthur, who is 74, urges evangelical Christians to engage in a “collective war” to stop the spread of the charismatic movement, which he describes as a “deadly virus,” a “deviant mutation of the truth” and a “Trojan horse”….

MacArthur believes God’s miracle-working power stopped around 100 A.D. He says healing, tongues, prophecy, visions and other supernatural manifestations described in the New Testament don’t work today. MacArthur is particularly irked that charismatics emphasize speaking in tongues (which he calls “gibberish”); he also complains that we have a “perverse obsession with physical health” (in other words, if you get sick, just accept it because God doesn’t heal anymore). But the New Testament doesn’t tell us that heaven flipped a switch and turned off the Spirit’s power. …

Is It Right: To Judge, To Expose Error, & To Name Names?

Many today believe that it is wrong to expose error and to name names. Liberals have always seemed to believe this, but in recent times it has been widely espoused by evangelicals and Charismatics. Now we are seeing the same fatal error being declared by those who profess to be Bible believing fundamentalists. Those who are faithful in exposing error according to the Bible are now being widely denounced, and are accused of being unloving and unkind. In this tract we intend to present the teaching of the Bible on this vital subject.

I. It Is Right To Practice Biblical Judgment

One of the most misused verses in the Bible is, “Judge not, that ye be not judged.” (Matthew 7:1). Every Scripture verse should be read in its context, if we are to properly understand the true meaning. In vs. 2-5 of this same chapter it is evident that v.1 is referring to hypocritical judgment. A brother who has a beam in his own eye should not be judging the brother who may have a mote in his eye. The lesson is plain, you cannot judge another for his sin if you are guilty of the same sin.

Those who cling to “Judge not, that ye be not judged,” to condemn those who expose error should read the entire chapter. Jesus said, “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing…” (v.15). How can we know false prophets unless we judge them by the Word of God? If we know the false prophets, how can we fail to warn the sheep of these “ravening wolves?” All through the Bible we find proof that they should be identified and exposed.

“Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit” (vs.16,17). Did the Lord mean that we could not judge the tree (person), by the fruit of their life and doctrine? Certainly not, for you cannot know without judging. All judgment should be on the basis of Bible teaching, not according to whims or prejudices.

“Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” (John 7:24). Here our Lord commands that we are to “judge righteous judgment,” which is judgment based upon the Word of God. …

II. It Is Right To Expose False Teachers

False teachers are free to spread their poisonous doctrines today because there is a conspiracy of silence among many Bible believers. Wolves in sheep’s clothing are thus enabled to ravage the flock, thereby destroying many.

John the Baptist called the Pharisees and Sadducees (the religious leaders of his day) “a generation of vipers” (snakes) (Matthew 3:7). Today, he would be accused of being unloving, unkind, and unchristian. …

Standing face to face with these false teachers, Jesus Christ the son of God, called them “hypocrites,” “blind guides,” “blind,” “whited sepulchres,” “serpents,” and “ye generation of vipers” (Matthew 23:23-34). …

The Bible Admonishes Us To Expose Error

We are to TRY them. “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits, whether they be of God; because many false prophets are gone out into the world” (1st John 4:1). All doctrine and teachers are to be tried according to the Word of God. …

We are to MARK them and AVOID them. “Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them” (Romans 16:17). …

We are to REBUKE them. “Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith” (Titus 1:13). …

III. It is Right To Name Names

Many mistakenly believe that it is wrong to expose error and to name the guilty teachers; but they are wrong according to the Bible.

Paul named Peter publicly. …

Paul named Demas for loving the world. …

Paul named Hymenaeus and Alexander. Paul told Timothy to “war a good warfare; Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck: Of whom is Hymenaesus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme” (1st Timothy 1:18-20). …

Paul named Hymenaeus and Philetus. He told Timothy to “study” that he might be able to “rightly” divide “the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. And their word will eat as doth a canker….

Paul named Alexander the coppersmith. “Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works: Of whom be thou ware also; for he hath greatly withstood our words” (2nd Timothy 4:14-15). It is clear that this is not a personality problem, but a doctrinal problem. Alexander had withstood the words and doctrine of Paul. …

John named Diotrephes. …

In fact, the whole Bible abounds in examples of false prophets being named and exposed. All this modern day talk about love, used as an excuse for not exposing error, is not really biblical love but is really sloppy agape. …

Jude exposed “the error of Balaam” (Jude 11). John exposed “the doctrine of Balaam….

It seems to be believed by many that some people are too high and mighty to be named or exposed. Men in high places, pastors of large churches, and those with great radio of TV audiences, are supposedly above criticism. Whatever they may do or say, no matter how contrary to the Bible it may be, is supposedly all right. Nothing could be further from the truth. …

Yes, it is right to expose error and to name those who are in error. It is right to “earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints” (Jude 3). It was once delivered and it has never been recalled for revision. We had better beware of “false teacher…who privily shall bring in damnable heresies” (2nd Peter 2:1). Faithful messengers will warn the sheep of these heretics, and identify them by name. It is not enough to broadly hint of their identity, for the young lambs will not understand and will be destroyed by the wolves.

In Catholic Church, Doctrines of Demons?, Real History

This is so heavy. How can a person do so much yet be so empty — admittedly having lived a false life? Mother Teresa wasn’t a saint:

“The smile,” she writes, is “a mask” or “a cloak that covers everything.” Similarly, she wonders whether she is engaged in verbal deception. “I spoke as if my very heart was in love with God — tender, personal love,” she remarks to an adviser. “If you were [there], you would have said, ‘What hypocrisy.’

I remember reading this article in Time magazine, print edition, when it came out in 2007, which includes the above quote [entire article is here]:

Her secret letters show that she spent almost 50 years without sensing the presence of God in her life. …

A new, innocuously titled book, Mother Teresa: Come Be My Light (Doubleday), consisting primarily of correspondence between Teresa and her confessors and superiors over a period of 66 years, provides the spiritual counterpoint to a life known mostly through its works. The letters, many of them preserved against her wishes (she had requested that they be destroyed but was overruled by her church), reveal that for the last nearly half-century of her life she felt no presence of God whatsoever — or, as the book’s compiler and editor, the Rev. Brian Kolodiejchuk, writes, “neither in her heart or in the eucharist.”

That absence seems to have started at almost precisely the time she began tending the poor and dying in Calcutta, and — except for a five-week break in 1959 — never abated. Although perpetually cheery in public, the Teresa of the letters lived in a state of deep and abiding spiritual pain. In more than 40 communications, many of which have never before been published, she bemoans the “dryness,” “darkness,” “loneliness” and “torture” she is undergoing. She compares the experience to hell and at one point says it has driven her to doubt the existence of heaven and even of God. She is acutely aware of the discrepancy between her inner state and her public demeanor. “The smile,” she writes, is “a mask” or “a cloak that covers everything.” Similarly, she wonders whether she is engaged in verbal deception. “I spoke as if my very heart was in love with God — tender, personal love,” she remarks to an adviser. “If you were [there], you would have said, ‘What hypocrisy.’

Ughhh — did she then not really mean this? Was she just saying what she was supposed to say, or was she sincere?:

Mother Teresa wasn’t ‘feeling’ Christ’s love, and she could have shut down. But she was up at 4:30 every morning for Jesus, and still writing to him, ‘Your happiness is all I want.’

Her lack of joy is tragic, because Jesus wants to fill us with His joy, which is automatic when we are truly abiding in Him and truly producing fruit. Jesus in John 15:1-12:

Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can’t bear fruit by itself, unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me. I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. If a man doesn’t remain in me, he is thrown out as a branch, and is withered; and they gather them, throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, you will ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you. “In this is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit; and so you will be my disciples. Even as the Father has loved me, I also have loved you. Remain in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and remain in his love. I have spoken these things to you, that my joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be made full. “This is my commandment, that you love one another, even as I have loved you.

It’s tragic that many have done things for God without actually being in God. We can’t just say “Lord, Lord.” Jesus must be Lord of our lives. We must abide in Him. Jesus in Matthew 7:21-23:

Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will tell me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works?’ Then I will tell them, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you who work iniquity.’

Did Teresa’s false Catholic doctrines destroy her faith? The following quotes are from Mother Teresa wasted her life serving a false religion.

The Catholic church continues the old covenant priesthood; even though, Jesus did away with priests when He died on the cross and the veil was rent! Now, we can have direct access to the Father through Christ, our Priest. Teresa believed she needed the Priests to be able to access Christ:

When the priest is there, then can we have our altar and our tabernacle and our Jesus. Only the priest put Jesus there for us. … Jesus wants to go there, but we cannot bring him unless you first give him to us. This is why I love priests so much. We could never be what we are and do the things we do without you priests who first bring Jesus to us.

Teresa relied upon Mary (a person like you and me) to connect her with Jesus:

Mother Teresa was a Catholic through and through. She worshipped Mary as the mother of God and co-redeemer with Christ.

Mary … is our patroness and our Mother, and she is always leading us to Jesus.”

Jesus always did the things that pleased His Father, drawing people to His Father, not Muhammed, and not the false Hindu gods. And He did away with the Priesthood. Teresa helped people serve whomever:

I’ve always said we should help a Hindu become a better Hindu, a Muslim become a better Muslim, a Catholic become a better Catholic”

This should break our hearts that someone did so much “for Jesus” without really knowing Jesus — admitting she faked her smile, and spoke as though her heart was really in love with Jesus. It’s too bad she wasn’t open with the public about her dilemma so she could have been cured, instead of relying on the Catholic leaders, who apparently kept her in the false religious system which really isn’t life in the Son.

May we learn from her example and press into our high callings in Christ Jesus to live Jesus’ narrow way — life in the Son — where fruit remains and our joy will be full — always doing what pleases Him!

All of us can be real, overcoming, going-to-heaven Christians! When we do right we’ll feel right:

We must live in reality. This life is our only chance to get it right.

God loves us so much and wants us to be free!

Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness,idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

And then Paul says:

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts.

Too many willfully lusting ‘Christians’ are pointing the finger, when our focus should be in geting the plank out of our own eye. Then we can see clearly to take the speck out of our brother’s eye. Homosexuals won’t enter the kingdom of heaven, but heterosexual heart–adulterers (lusters) won’t also. We need to have a pure heart. I talk about my dream and more of what the Bible says in:

Use it now; it is for you to be free, to be built up in the might of My Spirit. Pray often, and do not faint. Do not let the world take control. I have overcome the world. You will too, if you walk in My steps, living a life of love.

We all must be holy, and not allow lust demons into our lives, whether they be homosexual or heterosexual spirits that drive lust:

I was talking to a dear Catholic friend a few days ago, who is a church history scholar, expressing to him part of how the once-saved-always-saved and “it’s hard to lose one’s salvation” deception is happening in the evangelical church today. It’s largely fueled by greatest hits verses, of which the current favorite seems to be the gutted version of Romans 8:1, in which the second part has been removed: “ who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”

K-LOVE is now running an ad, pushing this deception across America, 24/7, saying:

“Now, there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.”

“God has set you free from shame.”

But this is only when we obey, which is why willfully sinning ‘Christians’ still feel shame and condemnation, because according to what Paul really said, we’re only “in Christ Jesus” when we don’t walk after the flesh but according to the Spirit. And verses 2-17 also show this. But most pastors and K-LOVE prefer to preach 8:1a by itself, instead — deceiving the people.

I explain why the NIV and many other modern versions took out 8:1b in the links, below. Basically, most modern versions rely upon the corrupted Egyptian manuscripts (where scribes often intentionally altered the texts), instead of continuing to quote the more reliable Syrian texts, which the King James and some others rely upon.

The Devil knew he couldn’t add verses to the text, which would be too obvious, so he removed hundreds, based upon the manipulative research done by Westcott and Hort.

Pope Francis says “those who DON’T BELIEVE and who DON’T SEEK the faith” can GO TO HEAVEN by obeying their CONSCIENCE – Vs – LIFE IN THE SON is having a CLEAN CONSCIENCE. But we must KNOW Him to be cleansed by Jesus’ blood. “All have sinned….” Then, by the Holy Spirit we can overcome sin to keep our consciences clean.

The ‘Pope’ may have good intentions, trying to be inclusive, but he’s actually hurting many, giving them false, unbiblical hope.

Perhaps he doesn’t believe in ‘original sin.’ “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” We all must be forgiven by Jesus’ shed blood. There is no other way to get clean, so then we can live with a clean conscience, empowered and led by the Holy Spirit, abiding in Him.

“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.” – Romans 8:1

We don’t start out with a clean slate. We all must be forgiven to be able to then walk with a clean conscience, as we obey the Spirit and don’t walk according to the flesh.

Unreached people can have an encounter with Jesus without being preached to, but they still must know Jesus to be forgiven by Him. And then we keep our consciences clean (once washed) by overcoming sin through the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit, which the Bible clearly states:

The emphasis on having a clean conscience is completely biblical, but it’s impossible unless we’re forgiven and then empowered to obey, being led by the Spirit. We must be born-again, Jesus said. Then, from a clean slate we take up our cross and follow Him. We abide in Him where fruit remains and our joy is full (John 15), no matter what we have to go through.

“For as the sufferings of Christ abound to us, even so our comfort also abounds through Christ” (2 Cor. 1:5).

Life in the Son is about having a clean conscience, but we must know Him to be cleansed. Then we can live overcoming, Holy-Spirit-empowered lives to keep our consciences clean.

“For if you live after the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God.” (Romans 8:13, 14).

Jesus died on the cross so we could be free, indeed — taking up our crosses and following Him!

Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount teaching is so crystal clear. Lust is adultery and a damming sin:

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery;’ but I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart. If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish, than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna. If your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off, and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish, than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna. (Matthew 5:27-30)

Likewise, Paul was clear in his teaching toward Christian women:

I will therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting. In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works. (1 Timothy 2:8-10)

One author interprets shamefacedness this way:

The word shamefacedness comes from a Greek word which means literally “downcast eyes,” but it is meant in a good sense and refers to one who is ashamed to overstep the limit of womanly reserve.

In my Let Us Be One prophecy, God said it this way in the chapter I call Jesus’ Dress Code:

My people, live as one, not judging one another, being critical of how they dress, one more popular than another. We are all different. Everyone is unique. Give people space, as long as it’s holy. You need to have righteousness girded about your loins. Hide yourself. They don’t need to see everything. That is for your husband, only him. Be careful; this is right.

God designed women to be very attractive to men. And there are certain things that only the woman’s husband should see—no matter what the Devil through society is telling us.

“I know I’m inappropriate, but I’m trying to save time. I know I’m in the wrong. My mother would not approve,” the 30-year-old said sheepishly as she made a beeline from Mass at the Bethesda church to the gym. “But would it be better that I not come?”

A popular campaign aimed at young evangelical women called “Modest is Hottest” has triggered backlash by devout younger women who see the slogan as sexist. When the Bible calls for “modesty,” they argue, it refers to displays of things like wealth and is describing the depth of one’s spirit, not their neckline. Teaching women that their value rises if they have more clothes on is objectifying, a torrent of essays have argued.

“A woman’s breasts and buttocks and thighs all proclaim the glory of the Lord,” said Sharon Hodde Miller, a doctoral student at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School whose critique of “modest is hottest” in the online evangelical magazine Christianity Today was one of the best-read of recent years. “Modesty is an orientation of the heart, first and foremost. It begins with putting God first. To look at an outfit and say if it’s modest or immodest, I’m not sure you can do that.”

First, Chuck Baldwin posted this on his Facebook page this morning:

Several Christian people have excoriated me because I have publicly challenged the political and theological positions of notable Christian ministers such as Franklin Graham and John Hagee. They tell me that because these men are ministers I have no right to challenge them. Excuse me, but that is so much horse manure.

These men are speaking as public figures; they are public leaders. Both of these men (and others) volunteered to enter the public square. They are not just preaching in their churches (Graham doesn’t have a church, obviously), they are speaking to the country. They have political influence. They volunteered to enter the political arena and take definite political positions on various issues.

As a fellow minister and public figure, one who also represents a political view to a national audience, I have a DUTY to challenge what I perceive to be erroneous, unconstitutional, misleading, and unbiblical views. The public can decide for themselves what they believe or don’t believe; but the idea that these men are somehow protected from public challenge because they are ministers is absurd. They cannot proclaim political views to a public audience and then expect that those with opposing views have no right to compete in the marketplace of ideas. It doesn’t work that way.

Franklin Graham was wrong to endorse provisions of the Obama/Feinstein gun grab bill, and John Hagee is wrong to trumpet Middle East war and foreign interventionism, and to teach his duel covenant doctrine, that Jews are going to heaven simply because they are Jews.

In my opinion, America is in the mess it is in because of the misguided public leadership of too many of our nation’s religious leaders. I would be less than honest and honorable if I would not use the public platform that God has given to me to do my best to trumpet truth and expose error as and when I see and understand it. This I will continue to do.

What Does John Hagee Really Want?

John Hagee, and many other evangelical preachers, constantly beat the war drums. Without ceasing, they encourage America’s political leaders to wage non-stop wars of aggression–especially in the Middle East. They constantly trumpet America’s unconstitutional interventions in the Middle East with terms not unlike those used by militant Muslims. Hagee’s pro-war fanaticism is so extreme one must wonder how much he is being paid by the Israeli lobby. My guess is it’s a bunch.

Much of this Christian war fever is due to a convoluted interpretation of Scripture–especially prophetic Scripture. While I will leave most of this discussion for another day, let me simply say that whatever God plans to do in regard to the reestablishment of the Davidic Kingdom, it has precious little to do with the atheistic, apostate government currently headquartered in Tel Aviv. And Hagee, himself, teaches apostasy when he declares that Jewish people today have a special covenant with God and do not need to come to faith in Jesus Christ in order to be saved, and when he says that Jesus never even claimed to be Christ (Messiah).

Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father but by me.” (John 14:6 KJV) Now, either Jesus or John Hagee told the truth. I’ll take the word of Jesus. Plus, Mr. Hagee apparently forgot Simon Peter’s confession, which Jesus said was due to a revelation from God the Father, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.” (Matthew 16:16 KJV)

So, what is it that Hagee and the rest really want? Perpetual war? Total genocide? A global New World Order with the likes of G.W. Bush or Barack Obama at the helm? What do they really want? Do they really have such an inflated view of themselves that they truly believe that they are going to manipulate what God does or doesn’t do regarding the fulfillment of end time events? Is God their servant? Is God Israel’s servant? Is God America’s servant? Balderdash! God is no man’s (or country’s) servant.

I wonder what these warmonger-preachers think about all the “blowback” from these illegal and immoral wars of aggression that G.W. Bush (and now Barack Obama) has led us into. Not only are these wars provoking people all over the world against us and doing more to recruit volunteers for militant extremists in the Middle East than anything Al Qaeda could do on their own, they are having catastrophic results on missionary work.

Now think this through: these warmongering evangelicals beat the war drums; they encourage the young men from their churches to go off and fight these “holy” wars; they work tirelessly to elect pro-war politicians; and they twist Old Testament Scripture to fit these modern crusades. Then, the politicians whom the warmongers helped elect send the US military to invade, bomb, and kill hundreds of thousands of people, the vast majority of whom are innocent people. After which, these same warmonger-preachers get up in their pulpits and cry and weep about how we need to send missionaries to preach the Gospel to the same people they just got done trying to annihilate.

Exactly who is it that the missionaries are supposed to reach? The ones lucky enough to escape death and destruction from US bombers and drone attacks, I guess. And exactly what is the message our missionaries are supposed to deliver? “I’m from America, and I’m here to tell you about the love of God.” Oh, that is going to play really well with the loved ones of those family members we just destroyed.

I’ve had so many missionaries tell me how difficult it is for them to try to minister to people around the world today; and the chief reason is the bully reputation that America has built over the past several decades.

Furthermore, do these warmongering evangelicals really want to deal with the fact that we now have over 23 veterans and active-duty military personnel committing suicide EVERY DAY? That equates to more fighting men dying from self-inflicted wounds than from wounds received in the wars they are asked to fight. This is a first in US history. Is John Hagee interested in why so many of our fighting men are killing themselves?

Just recently, an Iraq War veteran killed himself and left a sad and compelling suicide-letter explaining why he ended his life. The letter was posted with the family’s permission. This young soldier was engaged in over 400 combat missions as a machine-gunner in the turret of a Humvee. He was also involved in the interrogation of countless Iraqis. In the letter, the soldier said, “The simple truth is this: During my first deployment, I was made to participate in things, the enormity of which is hard to describe. War crimes, crimes against humanity. Though I did not participate willingly, and made what I thought was my best effort to stop these events, there are some things that a person simply can not come back from. I take some pride in that, actually, as to move on in life after being part of such a thing would be the mark of a sociopath in my mind. These things go far beyond what most are even aware of.

“To force me to do these things and then participate in the ensuing coverup is more than any government has the right to demand. Then, the same government has turned around and abandoned me. They offer no help, and actively block the pursuit of gaining outside help via their corrupt agents at the DEA. Any blame rests with them.”

The distraught soldier went on to say, “Is it any wonder then that the latest figures show 22 veterans killing themselves each day? That is more veterans than children killed at Sandy Hook, every single day. Where are the huge policy initiatives? Why isn’t the president standing with those families at the state of the union? Perhaps because we were not killed by a single lunatic, but rather by his own system of dehumanization, neglect, and indifference.

“It leaves us to where all we have to look forward to is constant pain, misery, poverty, and dishonor. I assure you that, when the numbers do finally drop, it will merely be because those who were pushed the farthest are all already dead.

“And for what? Bush’s religious lunacy? Cheney’s ever growing fortune and that of his corporate friends? Is this what we destroy lives for?”

Iraq Vet Kills Himself After Being Ordereed To Commit War Crimes

What was the soldier’s lament? He was forced to commit war crimes and crimes against humanity. He was forced by the government to cover up these crimes. His government abandoned him in his hour of need. His pain and guilt was more than he could bear. The soldier’s own words were that his was “Not suicide, but a mercy killing.”

Mr. Hagee and the rest of you warmongering evangelicals out there, is this soldier’s suicide (and the suicides of over 23 active-duty and military veterans every day) what you had in mind when you beat the drums for America’s undeclared, unconstitutional wars of aggression? This young soldier saw the reality of these wars up close and personal–and he didn’t like what he saw. And don’t try to brush this off by saying it’s always been this way. No it hasn’t! We didn’t have suicides like this during World War I or World War II. Whatever the politics back then was or wasn’t, those were lawfully declared wars in which our men knew what they were fighting for. They went in; they fought; they came home.

The war we are fighting in the Middle East is now America’s longest war, and there is no end in sight. Bush and Obama have made perpetual war an official US policy. In addition, this “War on Terror” has transformed the American people from citizens into suspects–every last one of us. Military drones by the tens of thousands are, or soon will be, flying over the skies of America. The American citizenry is being spied on relentlessly. Two super spy centers are currently being built: one in southern Utah and one near San Antonio, Texas. These super spy centers are designed primarily to spy on the American people. Liberties once protected by the Constitution and Bill of Rights are now publicly and blatantly abused. And evangelicals such as John Hagee say nary a word of protest. Instead, they continue to support and promote this so-called “War on Terror.” At what cost, Mr. Hagee? At what cost?

Hundreds of thousands of innocents are being killed; animosity against the United States is growing exponentially; in an effort to keep our country at war, our economy is being overburdened and overtaxed to the point of no return; in the name of the “War on Terror,” America is on the verge of becoming a giant police state; we are inciting China and Russia into nuclear war; and America’s military veterans are killing themselves more frequently than are enemy bullets. Is this what you want, Mr. Hagee? Is this really what you want?

When I stumbled upon a museum in Hollywood California named: Psychiatry, An industry of death, I was of course very intrigued. The staff were very patient and helpful. They were eager to answer any questions people had. When I found out that thorozine could be one of the causes for my tourette’s syndrome I could feel the anger rising inside of me. Thinking back to the mental “hospitals” I was forced to stay in. I was locked in my room on a 24 hour a day basis and if I said or did anything that could possibly be taken as less then submissive and obedient I was taken to the “seclusion room” (which is kind of fucked seeing as how I was in 24 hour a day seclusion anyways) and put in 4 point restraints, injected with liquid thorozine directly into my neck. When I was allowed passes to go home for the day with my mom, I was too tired to do anything with my family, I just wanted to sit in the chair and sleep, I remember thinking what is the point of being ALLOWED to come home for the day if I am just going to sit here sleeping? I can do this just as well back at the hospital. When I went back that night I told the nurses that I wanted different medication, this started the chemical cocktail experience that would be my life for more than another YEAR.

Are there people that have benefitted from psychiatric “medicines”? Well I’m sure there are. .

The people that were forced into these criminal hands had no choice for the most part. Their human right were stripped from them so a very small group of people could make more money than most people can even conceive of. …

It’s a short jump from the hyper-grace message to complete antinomianism, which literally means “against law.” In practice, it means that “anything goes,” since Jesus has set us free. “You’re not going to put me into bondage….” The problem is, Jesus didn’t set us free to sin; He set us free from sin.

Once again there are scriptural truths that antinomians emphasize, such as we are under grace, not law (Rom. 6:14); we died to the law so that we could now live to serve God (Rom. 7:1—6); and we are no longer under the tutelage of the law (Gal. 3:24—25).

What they fail to realize is that now, under the new covenant, the law is written on our hearts (Heb. 8:10), and Jesus died for us and broke the power of sin on our lives, so that now, by the Spirit, we can live out the righteous requirements of the law (Rom. 8:1—4).

And they fail to realize that Jesus calls us beyond the requirements of the law in His teaching, stating, for example, that adultery refers to adultery of the heart and not just the physical act (Matt. 5:27-28). …

If we choose to live in this “freedom to sin,” then we need to know the “fate on the other end.” …

Sin will take hold of your hand, kiss you on the cheek, whisper empty promises into your love-struck ear, woo you into the bedchamber, lull you to sleep, and then stab you in the back. … Sin will love you for a season and curse you for eternity.

Challenging the authority of the Word

For the most part, the challenge to the authority of the Scriptures is subtler, and some of it flows out of the deification of man: “The Bible must live up to my standards. I will judge the God of the Bible based on my morality rather than the God of the Bible judging me based on His morality.”

Because of this mentality it is more and more common to hear believers talk about the problem they have with the God of the Old Testament or to question whether the Bible really means what it says, a case in point being a pro-homosexual reading of Scripture. The problem is not that the verses aren’t clear. The problem is that we know homosexuals who say they really love the Lord and seem to be very Christlike, and they are devoted to each other as a couple and even pray together in the Spirit.

So what do we do? Rather than say to the practicing homosexuals [or to hating, heterosexual lusting, envying, lying, or etc. ‘Christians’], “You may be very sincere, but the Word of God is very clear,” we question what the Word says despite its clarity. And so, rather than speaking the truth in love to sinners and telling them that if they want to please the Lord and be in right relationship with Him, they must take up the cross and follow Him, we reinterpret (or rewrite) the Word.

In short, When the Scriptures contradict our feelings and preferences, rather than crucify our feelings and preferences and bow down before God and His Word, we question God’s Word.

The challenging of God’s authority goes back to the Garden of Eden, starting with the serpent’s challenge to Eve: “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” (Gen. 3:1). This satanic challenge was twofold: First, did God really say that? And second, God didn’t really mean what He said. After all, you won’t die if you eat from the tree (vv. 1-5).

Be careful when you read the first few chapters of the book of Revelation, where it repeatedly says: ‘to him who overcomes will I do this,’ and’ to him who overcomes will I do that,’ because the temptation of the Devil is: ‘well you’re not overcoming everything yet, so you don’t get that.’

Well, I’ve got good news for you: there is an Overcomer Who has overcome, and if you’ve received Him by faith His overcomingness lives in you. I’m an overcomer because the Overcoming One lives in me.

Paul says the law has been fulfilled. Jesus fulfilled it. And if He fulfilled it and He lives in you the law has *already been fulfilled* in you. The righteous demands of the law were fulfilled by Jesus.

And because He is in me and I am in Him. [unintelligible] sitting around the dinner table at the last supper — ‘if you abide in Me and I abide in You’ —

I am in Him and He’s in me — whatever He’s accomplished I get the benefit of….

But what did Jesus really say while “sitting around the dinner table at the last supper?” Jesus said: Only those who “keep My commandments“ will “remain in My love,” and they’ll bear much fruit. Those who don’t will be thrown into the fire and burned.

Abiding in Christ requires obedience. We must overcome!

Jesus in John 15:

4 Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can’t bear fruit by itself, unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me. 5 I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If a man doesn’t remain in me, he is thrown out as a branch, and is withered; and they gather them, throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, you will ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you. 8 “In this is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit; and so you will be my disciples. 9 Even as the Father has loved me, I also have loved you. Remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and remain in his love. 11 I have spoken these things to you, that my joy may remain in you, and THAT YOUR JOY MAY BE MADE FULL. 12 “This is my commandment, that you love one another, even as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. 14 You are my friends, if you do whatever I command you.

Jesus really did say we must overcome in Revelation 2 and 3.

I was rebuked, yesterday, for expressing this thought in a Facebook dialogue in which we were discussing this article:

A woman commented:

“Wow. I will pray for this fear mongering man [Steve Hill]. If his heart was to heal he would approach the whole topic without alienating the audience he is speaking to. Lol small minds.”

I responded:

The fear of the Lord is a good thing, and is totally biblical:

“So then, my beloved, even as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and *trembling*.” (Php. 2:12)

Most pastors falsely teach that this just means ‘reverence,’ but then how does ‘trembling’ fit in?

Jesus said:

“Fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”

This isn’t just ‘reverence.’

The fear of the Lord should compel us to walk on the narrow path that the New Testament lays out. The fear of the Lord is a good thing.

Paul, himself, ran his race to win, making sure he walked in purity, and he made sure he was right with everyone:

“Herein I also practice always having a conscience void of offense toward God and men.” (Rom. 24:16)

Only when we walk according to the Spirit are we biblically “in Christ” to where there is “no condemnation”:

“There is therefore now *no condemnation* to those who are *in Christ Jesus*, who don’t WALK according to the flesh, but ACCORDING TO THE SPIRIT.” (Rom. 8:1)

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God.” (v. 14)

She then rebuked me for quoting scripture.

The Lord recently imparted to me a vision concerning the state of the church and what we must do about it. ..in this visitation from God, I saw layers upon layers of snow steadily covering the solid, traditional truth of Christ. As with a whiteout, the truth had been lost in the flurry. …

How Has This Happened?

… Paul warned that the “time will come when [believers] will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables” (2 Tim. 4:3-4). …

1) Overemphasis of Prosperity

… Carnal prosperity preachers encourage God’s people to seek after riches—or to seek after God for the purpose of riches—often even judging your spirituality by the kind of car you drive. What does that have to do with the gospel of Jesus?

2) Exaggerated View of Grace

This hyper-grace teaching has become an epidemic (see “What’s Wrong With Grace?” on p. 28). It has slipped in almost unnoticed and taken root like an unwanted weed—easy to get in but hard to get out of the Christian. I have personally dealt with many young people who were once on fire but fell under this “kicked-back” view of God. Now, instead of pursuing Him, they are partying. …

Sadly, some hyper-grace preachers live in sin and ease their consciences by preaching about a God who is all love and who never condemns, a God who doesn’t judge us by our conduct. Like the false teachers Jude confronted, they “turn the grace of our God into lewdness” (Jude 4). The New International Version describes such lewdness as “a license for immorality.”

But not every hyper-grace preacher is looking for a way to justify sin. Some truly love Jesus but are simply preaching truth mixed with error. They’ve taken an undeniable, glorious truth about God and presented it in such an exaggerated form that they nullify all divine warnings and even claim that the words of Jesus don’t apply to New Covenant believers. If this seems judgmental, then it’s time to honestly line everyone’s teachings—including mine—alongside the Word. …

3) Antinomianism

Antinomianism—long word, simple meaning. The word literally means “against law.” It’s a short jump from an overemphasis on the grace message to complete antinomianism. In practice, it means that “anything goes,” since Jesus has set us free. The problem is, Jesus didn’t set us free to sin; He set us free from sin.

Jesus died for us and broke sin’s power on our lives so that now, by the Spirit, we can live out the righteous requirements of the law (Rom. 8:1-4). Yet purveyors of this poisonous teaching fail to realize that Jesus calls us beyond the requirements of the law in His teaching, stating, for example, that adultery refers to adultery of the heart and not just the physical act (Matt. 5:27-28). …

4) Deification of Man

… Today’s gospel, especially in America, has a very different ring to it; rather than being all about God, it’s all about me. …

Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it” (Matt. 16:24-25).

We are in grave danger worldwide as millions upon millions gaze upon man rather than God. ..as we become so accustomed to worshipping man, it will be a simple maneuver for the Antichrist to move into position.

5) Challenging the Authority of the Word

The challenging of God’s authority goes back to the Garden of Eden, starting with the serpent’s challenge to Eve: “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” (Gen. 3:1). This satanic challenge was twofold: First, did God really say that? And second, God didn’t really mean what He said. After all, you won’t die if you eat from the tree (vv. 1-5).

That twofold challenge continues to assault us today. Best-selling authors tell us the biblical text isn’t reliable….

For the most part, though, the challenge to the authority of the Scriptures is subtler, and some of it flows out of the deification of man, which says, “The Bible must live up to my standards. I will judge the God of the Bible based on my morality rather than the God of the Bible judging me based on His morality.” In short, when the Scriptures contradict our feelings and preferences rather than crucify our feelings and preferences and bow down before God and His Word, we question God’s Word.

6) Rejecting Hell

..because we preach an imbalanced gospel—emphasizing God’s love and ignoring His wrath, emphasizing His mercy and ignoring His justice—we no longer have room for hell….

Why did Jesus use such strong language in talking about the fire of hell and about people weeping and wailing and gnashing their teeth (see Matt. 8:12)? And why did He teach that “it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell” (Matt. 5:29)? And why do other New Testament writers warn us repeatedly about the wrath to come (see Eph. 5:1-6)? …

7) Universal Reconciliation

Universal reconciliation promotes a get-out-of-jail-free mentality—that in the end, everyone will make it into heaven….
