I modified this list from a pastor who thinks because God hates some evil people (and David sometimes did in the old covenant) that we should also hate evil people. Though, in the new covenant, Jesus said we are to love our enemies. Mt. 5:43-45:
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor, and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, that you may be children of your Father who is in heaven.”
And John warns in 1 Jn. 3:15:
Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life remaining in him.
I decided to post this because the fear of the Lord is rarely being taught correctly. Many say the God of the Old and New Testaments are different, because Jesus seemed like such a nice guy while on earth (except when he whipped the money changers). But Jesus was mainly living like you and I are supposed to, being led by the Spirit, having emptied Himself (Php. 2). We’re supposed to walk like Jesus walked. Jesus forgave those who crucified him, just like Stephen forgave those who stoned him to death.
I added some words from Jesus in his current, exalted state that show how much Jesus means business! Sexual immorality is a big deal to Jesus! The Bible emphasizes this a lot, and so should we, to not fall into this seductive trap.
Paul taught the goodness and severity of God in balance in Romans 11:
Don’t be conceited, but fear; for if God didn’t spare the natural branches [Jews], neither will he spare you. See then the goodness and severity of God. Toward those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in his goodness; otherwise you also will be cut off.
The church is currently out of balance, by only being taught one side of God’s character, His ‘goodness’ side. We need a reality check, so we’ll make sure we safely stay within God’s goodness side, so we’ll make sure we’re in the Son, being salt and light, and not be cut off.

Psalm 5:5-6 The arrogant shall not stand in your sight. You hate all workers of iniquity. You will destroy those who speak lies. Yahweh abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.
Psalm 11:5 Yahweh examines the righteous, but the wicked and him who loves violence his soul hates.
Psalm 53:5 There were they in great fear, where no fear was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: thou hast put them to shame, because God hath despised them.
Leviticus 20:23 You shall not walk in the customs of the nation, which I am casting out before you: for they did all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.
Leviticus 26:27-30″‘If you in spite of this won’t listen to me, but walk contrary to me; then I will walk contrary to you in wrath; and I also will chastise you seven times for your sins. You will eat the flesh of your sons, and you will eat the flesh of your daughters. I will destroy your high places, and cut down your incense altars, and cast your dead bodies upon the bodies of your idols; and my soul will abhor you.
Deuteronomy 32:19 And when the LORD saw it, he abhorred them, because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters.
Proverbs 6:16-19 There are six things which Yahweh hates; yes, seven which are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood; a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are swift in running to mischief, a false witness who utters lies, and he who sows discord among brothers.
Proverbs 22:14 The mouth of strange women [adulteress] is a deep pit: he that is abhorred of the LORD shall fall therein.
Zechariah 11:8 Three shepherds also I cut off in one month; and my soul lothed them, and their soul also abhorred me.
Hosea 9:15 “All their wickedness is in Gilgal; for there I hated them. Because of the wickedness of their deeds I will drive them out of my house! I will love them no more. All their princes are rebels.
Malachi 1:2-3 I have loved you, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob’s brother? saith the LORD: yet I loved Jacob, And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.
Romans 9:13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

Jesus in Revelation 2:18-23 doesn’t actually mention the word hate, but remember how God struck Ananias and Sapphira dead in the New Testament!
“To the angel of the assembly in Thyatira write: “The Son of God, who has his eyes like a flame of fire, and his feet are like burnished brass, says these things:
“I know your works, your love, faith, service, patient endurance, and that your last works are more than the first. But I have this against you, that you tolerate your woman, Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess. She teaches and seduces my servants to commit sexual immorality, and to eat things sacrificed to idols. I gave her time to repent, but she refuses to repent of her sexual immorality.
Behold, I will throw her into a bed, and those who commit adultery with her into great oppression, unless they repent of her works. I will kill her children with Death, and all the assemblies will know that I am he who searches the minds and hearts. I will give to each one of you according to your deeds.
