Southern Baptists Reject Updated NIV Bible
Southern Baptists recently announced their rejection of the new NIV Bible at their annual convention in Phoenix, Ariz., saying they could not commend the translation and its use of gender-neutral language.
Being vindictive is bad enough in politics. And is even worse when the politicians openly call themselves ‘Christians,’ like in the post below.
But when those who accept the role of being spokesmen for God, pastors — when they vilify those whom God sent to help them, instead of embracing the truth so real Christianity can happen in our midst — this is so tragic, and this is at the heart of why America is going down while the world watches our demise — wondering what happened.
Church leaders are called to set the standard by what they teach and the lives they live — which would have saved America….
I’ve experienced this firsthand. God prompts certain people to help unity happen among Christians, Jesus’ heartcry for us in John 17 — so the world will then know. But hardhearted pastors, instead of embracing the truth so healing and revival can occur, and so they can even go to heaven — instead, behind the person’s back, they try to tear down the messenger’s character so no one will believe him. I discovered that I was being called ‘divisive,’ for example — when I was just a normal family member who cared enough to say something, instead of looking the other way.
This ‘church’ is all split up, family members everywhere, dismayed and disgruntled, wondering what happened and why it’s taking so long to fix the problem — when things were going so well and were prophesied to get much better, like they should. And we should expect nothing less! Many aren’t even serving God; though, the unrepentant leaders couldn’t be partially responsible. No, no, no — not according to them.
Churches can become dysfunctional just like families can. In dysfunctional families, only the enablers continue in good standing — those who keep their mouths shut — or better yet, those who defend the abusers from the problem solvers’ solutions that would require real change so love can happen again.
And then the enablers become the abusers too.
But throughout, God is not mocked. He can’t be fooled. And we’ll reap what we’ve sown, both now and in eternity.
God is waiting for us to abide in Him, while leadership is actually blaming God for His apparent distance, saying God will sovereignly move when He wants to move. Though God has been wanting to move all along — which is real Christianity — God giving grace to the humble.
“God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.” God wants so much to empower and fill us. He’s been ready and waiting all of this time. He wants revival to come! But it’s totally up to us:
How many more will die, going who-knows-where, and how much further will America fall before pastors get right with those they’ve hurt?

I’ve been pointing out the differences between Sarah Palin’s stated philosophy and belief in Christianity and her actions for quite some time now. I was particularly distressed when Palin used words like “asinine” to describe her own constituents in a press release. These are not the words of a Christian person and certainly not the words of a responsible leader. Of course, the truth of the matter is that she is Domininist, who uses her so-called Christianity as a weapon of power in order to claim the big prize….
The horror some of us feel over Palin isn’t about her politics or faith, as much as she martyrs herself on the pretend cross of her Christian charade. It’s about her character.

I have had to go back to folks and apologize to them for some of my actions. Tearing down their character. But she had to put her image up as this perfect person.

This is mostly a great article! I would also rather share a foxhole with an agnostic who is trying to find and do the truth than with a ‘Christian’ who doesn’t uphold the truth nor does he really love his brother.
And I agree with Chuck here. Jesse Ventura comes to mind; though, some of his positions concern me:
In speeches all over America, I have surprised many Christian people when I say, I would rather vote for an unbeliever who would preserve, protect, and defend the US Constitution, than vote for a believer who would NOT preserve, protect, and defend the US Constitution.
But I would probably disagree with Chuck’s reasoning here:
Of course, I can hear many Christians now saying under their breath, “But we need REAL Christians in public office.”
Chuck lists the recent ‘Christian’ Presidents who have unconstitutionally misled America, and then says:
Forget the rhetoric! Forget the label! Forget the religious piety! If our public servants do not submit themselves to the Constitution to which they swore an oath before God and men, they are liars and frauds and should be treated as such!
Had these men been REAL Christians they could be “liars and frauds,” according to what the Bible really says: Who-Goes-To-Heaven Scriptures — Narrow is the Way | Who are the Children of God?
And REAL Christians love their neighbors even if he wears a turban and she wears a burka — and they live overseas where we can’t hear the bombs go off or see the blood — which is not true of:
Jesus said “Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called children of God.” Most ‘Christians’ supported George W. Bush even in his second term when he was clearly pro-torture and pro-murder.
As a Baptist pastor, Chuck probably has a standard Baptist view as to what is a REAL Christian is, which unfortunately differs from what the Bible really says. This is probably why we differ slightly here.
Clearly, many agnostics are more Christian than most ‘Christians.’
And many agnostics would become Christians if most ‘Christians’ were REAL Christians.
Then reverse-Christian politicians could no longer get away with calling themselves ‘Christians.’

I couldn’t count how many times I’ve heard a sincere Christian say to me, “Chuck, all we have to do is elect more Christians to public office.” I wish it was only that easy! The fact is we have been electing “Christians” to public office for decades. In fact, when is the last time you voted for someone who did NOT proclaim to be a Christian? Most everyone in public office claims to be a Christian. In my whole life, I never remember a candidate for public office saying, “Vote for me; I’m an atheist.” Do you?
Richard Nixon claimed to be a Christian; Gerald Ford claimed to be a Christian; Jimmy Carter claimed to be a Christian (he even taught Sunday School and took alcohol out of the White House); Ronald Reagan claimed to be a Christian; Bill Clinton claimed to be a Christian (how many times did we see Clinton on his way to church with his giant-print Bible under his arm?); George Bush I and II claimed to be a Christian. Bush II held prayer meetings in the White House we are told. Even Barack Obama claims to be a Christian. Ditto for virtually every congressman and senator ever elected. Republicans and Democrats, liberals and conservatives, men and women, whites and blacks: they all claim to be Christians. If electing “Christians” was all we needed to do, we should be in the Millennial Kingdom by now!
Of course, I can hear many Christians now saying under their breath, “But we need REAL Christians in public office.” And, of course, the people saying this are the ones who are qualified to know which ones are REAL Christians and which ones aren’t. Right?

When a civil magistrate assumes public office, he or she does not swear an oath to be a “good Christian,” or to be a “good conservative,” or to read their Bible and pray everyday. What they do swear to, however, is to “preserve, protect, and defend” the US Constitution.
The reason why it doesn’t matter to a hill of beans whether we elect Republicans or Democrats, or liberals or conservatives, or Baptists or Catholics, etc., is because, for the most part, none of them cares one iota about honoring their oath of office to be faithful to the Constitution! But holding our elected officials to the Constitution should be the primary focus of any public servant’s constituents. Forget the rhetoric! Forget the label! Forget the religious piety! If our public servants do not submit themselves to the Constitution to which they swore an oath before God and men, they are liars and frauds and should be treated as such!
But, because the vast majority of Americans do not themselves understand, appreciate, and value fidelity to the Constitution, they are content to let their politicians routinely ignore and trample constitutional government. Therefore, Christian Democrats cheer the unconstitutional, loathsome policies and decisions of “Christian” Jimmy Carter, and Christian Republicans cheer the unconstitutional, loathsome policies and decisions of “Christian” George W. Bush.
And, as Sonny and Cher sang, “The Beat Goes On.” And the rush toward bigger and bigger government, less and less freedom, and more and more socialism goes on–all these “Christians” in public office notwithstanding.
In the midst of all this duplicity and chicanery come honest, freedom-loving, constitutionalists of all stripes, shapes, and sizes: men and women from all persuasions, backgrounds, and education who understand the principles of constitution government enough to be truly considered a friend of freedom. That’s why I have often said, not all Christians are our friends, and not all unbelievers are our enemies.
Case in point…
The understanding, wisdom, and character that is represented in the above blog is rarely demonstrated in any church, from any churchman, or from any pastor! I would sooner share a foxhole with this agnostic (and try to win him to the Lord at the same time) than with many professing Christians.
When did we Christians lose our character? When did we lose our honor? When did we forget what it means to be Freemen? When did we forget the principles of constitutional government? When did we lose our understanding of Natural Law and Natural Rights?

UNFORGIVENESS – A CAUSE of MAJOR BONDAGE

It has been said that the major cause of hindrances and bondages in the lives of Christians is that of unforgiveness. Every one of us will have experienced things in our lives, disagreements, criticisms, accusations (both true and false) against us. We cannot avoid these things happening. Even Jesus said that it was “impossible but that offences would come” (Luke 17:1). Offences are “stumbling blocks” which come against us ~ things said and done to us to put us down, or to try and subject us to someone else’s will [James-3 curse us – editor], etc. So, no matter how well we handle relationships, etc., we will all face negative things being thrown at us. Some will “attack” us if for no other reason but that they are jealous of us.
For the Christian we must accept that these things will happen in our lives.
· The big issue is how we deal with them!
It is very important to realize that once the offence has taken place, that we cannot change that. What we can change is our response to it, and how we allow it to affect us. The sooner we can take these matters to the Lord and leave them with Him ~ and at the same time practice forgiveness toward those who have offended us ~ the sooner we will be able to get on with our lives and continue to be fruitful in His service. But if we allow those criticisms to get into our emotions and cause us to re-act negatively and to start “bad mouthing” that person who has offended (and hurt) us, then it will quickly get into our spirit and lodge there. Once that happens, then we become the loser in the situation ~ even if the accusations are wrong! It is so important that we learn to keep short accounts with God and with people; otherwise we will start on a downward slippery slope that can cause us to finish up being hurt, angry, resentful, “bitter and twisted”, carrying a wounded spirit in the process. None of us can afford to let that happen. Yet, in my travels in numbers of countries, I am finding wounded Christians that have to be set free…
It is sad, but true, that many who have a prophetic calling in God have been “put down” or prevented from functioning. This has caused many to be “shut down,” be hurt and to go inwards, which does not allow them to pursue and fulfil their calling. Tragically, many Christian Leaders have been guilty of clamping down on those who are trying to exercise their Spiritual Gifts. Regardless of who caused the offence we all need to practice forgiveness. Let me emphasize strongly to you: carrying unforgiveness in your heart is not worth it! There is nothing good or justifiable in our carrying unforgiveness. If you have any unforgiveness in your heart and life right now, let me encourage you to make it a top priority to deal with it, and to get rid of it. Take it to JESUS ~ give it to Him, as He is the only One who can take it away from us. It is He that we are called to please; and our carrying unforgiveness does not please Him at all. In fact unforgiveness stops God from forgiving us of our many offences against Him (Matthew 6:14-15)! Right now, come before the Lord Jesus and give it all to Him.

When Jesus left He told His disciples that the Spirit would come-then the Spirit came! Where is that power in today’s church? No wonder no one is attracted to the Church. So how do we tap into this power? First we have to realize that the Spirit is not this that we can control. Rather, it is a wave that we get to jump on and ride-we’re not splashing, trying to create the wave-all we can do is ride it and have a blast! Like in the book of Acts-they didn’t create that movement of God, no, they rode it! So let’s stop quenching the Spirit in our churches and in our lives.

Ever since I got this prophecy in October of 2001, The Homosexuals Will Arise, I’ve had a soft heart for the homosexuals, those who are caught in this sin. I took off whatever ‘Baptist glasses’ I had. God helped me see more through His eyes what is going on.
The Homosexuals Will Arise
The homosexuals will arise. They have been hurt so badly in their heart. They are not the enemy. They are full of hurt, and are looking for a way out.
You can help if you don’t judge. Don’t criticize; show them the way through your smile. They are not worse than you, just unforgiven. They have a long way to go, but are not weird, as some would say. Do not mock. Lift them up. Give them space to watch.
Pray with them when you get a chance, but until then be slow. Their hearts are brittle, hardened by sin that has often been done unto them, not of their own accord. Have grace and Mercy, not judgment, or pain will come to you both, and alienation from the things of God, the life I can give.
It can happen. Love can start with you. It just takes one. Find it and run, run with arms outstretched, praying as you go, praying in tongues a lot. Don’t hold back. This is a precious gift. Use it now; it is for you to be free, to be built up in the might of My Spirit. Pray often, and do not faint. Do not let the world take control. I have overcome the world. You will too, if you walk in My steps, living a life of love.
God says homosexuals are not weird. They are just caught in a sin that is different, which is also similar to heterosexual lust, which many of the judgmental ‘Christians’ are also stuck in (whether it’s actually doing it with a person or just thinking it. And it is actually worse to do it with someone than just think about it). But both same and opposite-sex lust will put us in the who-doesn’t-go-to-heaven lists. There is this critical spirit especially in the country western listening, evangelical community that homosexuals are the problem in America — along with al Qaeda. But it’s willfully sinning ‘Christians‘ who are the main problem in America: The Red Gate Prophecy — What If I Open It Just a Little Bit? The believers, not the non-believers, have opened the gate to sin, which is why this country has deteriorated.
All lusters are going to Hell unless we repent. And we need to get the plank (heterosexual lust, for example) before we can see clearly enough to take the speck (homosexual lust) out of our neighbor’s eye.
How’s that? I think this is actually how we are supposed to read this verse? Who knows what these dear people have gone through, often even at a young age, not of their own accord.
My heart is that we will all be one, truly in Christ, free from all kinds of lusts — and that those of who haven’t succumbed to this same-sex sin will not treat those who have any differently than those who have succumbed to opposite-sex lust.
People look at Romans 1 and put homosexuals in this worst-person category. But lets take another look at Romans 1:
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because that which is known of God is revealed in them, for God revealed it to them. 20 For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity; that they may be without excuse. 21 Because, knowing God, they didn’t glorify him as God, neither gave thanks, but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless heart was darkened. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 and traded the glory of the incorruptible God for the likeness of an image of corruptible man, and of birds, and four-footed animals, and creeping things.
24 Therefore God also gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to uncleanness, that their bodies should be dishonored among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator [worshiping, lusting after the opposite or same-sex and not really worshiping God in Spirit or in truth – editor], who is blessed forever. Amen.
26 For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men doing what is inappropriate with men, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error.
28 Even as they refused to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, malice [desire to cause pain, injury, or distress to another — James-3 cursing – editor]; full of envy, murder [“he who hates his brother” — James-3 cursing – editor], strife, deceit, evil habits, secret slanderers, 30 backbiters, hateful to God, insolent [presumptuous and insulting in manner or speech; arrogant — I know pastors who are this way & ‘Christians’ who comment at this website — editor], haughty, boastful, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but also approve of those who practice them.
I think there are two clear points here unlike what is commonly taught. First, when homosexuality is rampant in a society it says a lot about the morality of the entire society in general. Rampant homosexuality is a key sign of a fallen society.
Secondly, every adjective I underlined i the last paragraph is true of many heterosexual ‘Christians’ whom I know, especially pastors, who are especially prone to James-3 curse those they see as their enemy: Dennis Cramer: “Most ‘Christians’ curse for the purpose of retaliation and vindication … ‘Christian’ leaders are even more vulnerable”
Instead of holding as a standard the scriptures that are in the header at the top of this page — so we will then achieve this standard, the feel-good remedy that is popular in most evangelical churches today is to accept the “I’m okay; you’re okay” once-saved-always-saved, false, eternal security doctrine — so then we all go to heaven anyway, regardless of what the Bible says in so many texts, including Romans 1, above.
Most ‘Christians’ today fit somewhere in the Romans 1:28-32, “worthy of death” list as well as the many scriptures in my Who-Goes study that clearly show who will not go to heaven. Though, is it fair to say that many, if not most ‘Christians’ don’t see themselves in Romans 1 at all, because the teaching in American pulpits has not been really Biblical or Spirit-led.
All lusters are in trouble, period — as well as those who hate others, wish people evil; secret slanderers; have strife, deceit; are unforgiving, unmerciful.
We must repent, having mercy on all people.
Who is going to get the greater judgment: homosexuals or pastors who won’t get right with those they’ve hurt?
The Bible says that spiritual teachers will get a stricter judgment!
I’m trying to put this into perspective so that ‘Christians’ will be more merciful towards homosexuals and that homosexuals will have great hope! The homosexuals will arise!!! FREEeeeeeeeeeeeee———-DOM!!!!!!!
Bless you!!! And that has mainly been my heart in why I’ve written this. Personally, I don’t want anyone to think that I wouldn’t accept you just as I would if you had not fallen into this sin.
If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.
You can be free from homosexual sin just like opposite-sex lusters can be free from heterosexual sin. You don’t have to walk in guilt any longer. And we better not put any guilt on you either for what you did in the past that is now forgiven completely!!! If we do, slap us.
I’ve already tried to address this before, particularly here:
I was trying to show that both heterosexual and homosexual lust is demon driven — that when people feel a powerful attraction to a person sexually, it’s demon driven. The fact that it’s demon driven is good news because when totally repent, 100% cold turkey, then the lust demons can’t affect us. We can be 100.00% free — no matter what we’ve done.
And we need to have Spirit-filled churches led by Spirit-filled people, which will be our sanctuary.
Some people can overcome without being a part of a great church, but many need the body of Christ to truly be the body of Christ. We can all be ONE, experiencing His glory till death do us part.
The willfully sinning leaders need to get out of the way and encourage those who are supposed to lead, so they can lead us into holiness.
And in the meantime, some of us can just get holy to then help bring in this bigger thing that has been prophesied. Then we’ll have the Third Great Awakening.
Having said all of this, I wanted to include this quote, transcribed by me from this video interview of Piper Perabo, which I don’t recommend most people watch because of some of the images — though I didn’t have a problem with them.
Piper was in a same-sex movie, Lost and Delirious, which she talks about here:
“It didn’t occur to me when I read the script that it would be a controversy. … I feel like we’re past that. I hope that we are. From my eyes we are. You love who you love, you know. And especially when people love so strong. It’s like how can you deny them that kind of…. I mean there is no denying that kind fury fire.”
I’m trying to give homosexuals hope — really big hope that you can be totally, 100% free from homosexual and heterosexual lust.
And heterosexuals can be free from lust too. There really isn’t that much difference. The source of the power (the addiction) is the same.
My contention is that this kind of fury fire that you may have felt is furious because it’s demonic. It may feel really good (a high like a drug — dopamine, actually), like there is no denying it, but the fire part of this lust comes from giving into sinful sexual desire in which lust demons are ready and waiting to take you to Cloud 9 — though you know it’s wrong and you feel guilty all of the time.
And we can be free now, and have right relationships within marriage that aren’t sinful or demon driven. Though there can be demon driven lust inside marriage too.
And some of us are single and don’t like it at all, but it wouldn’t be so bad if real Christianity was happening and we could bask in the glory of God.
It will be so easy to NOT sin when ONE happens. But until then, many of us can live pure and clean anyway. And those of us who do can help ONE to happen!
Power to the peaceful — the power to overcome sin and live together as ONE!

I read this book in the early ’80s after hearing Bob speak about guidance at Abbott Loop. I loved this book, which had a big impact on me, after Bob taught us at Abbott Loop to always have a lighted pen by our bedside to write down what God tells us while we’re in bed.
[If I remember correctly, having not read this gem in decades, I probably wouldn’t fully agree with everything, like fleeces. I’m pretty sure I still have it buried in a box somewhere; otherwise, I’d take a look to make sure.]
Isn’t it interesting and sad that books about being led by the Holy Spirit are few and far between? Even most charismatic churches are now just barely charismatic.
When Willow Creek and others pioneered the seeker friendly movement, I never thought they would adversely influence so many churches that should have known better, having experienced the real thing. The Holy Spirit hardly has a role these days.
