Even though there are a lot of different views on prosperity, the concept is usually understood as economic blessings that God wants to give all believers. If you have a strong faith in God, you’ll get rich. Godliness is a means to financial gain.
But what does the Bible say? Well, in 1 Tim 6:5, Paul speaks about “people of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain.” So the prosperity gospel is simply corrupt and untrue.

2014 Pornography Survey of Christian Men: Shocking New National Survey Reveals High Levels of Pornography Use and Rampant Extramarital Affairs Among Christian Men

The 2014 survey was commissioned by Proven Men Ministries (www.ProvenMen.org), which is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping men break free from pornography, and conducted by Barna Group among a nationally representative sample of 388 self-identified Christian adult men.
The statistics for Christian men between 18-30 years old are particularly striking:
- 77% look at pornography at least monthly;
- 36% view pornography at least daily;
- 32% admit being addicted to pornography (and another 12% think they may be).
The statistics for middle-aged Christian men (ages 31-49) are no less disturbing:
- 77% looked at pornography while at work in the past 3 months;
- 64% view pornography at least monthly; and
- 18% admit being addicted to pornography (and another 8% think they may be).
Even married Christian men are falling prey to pornography and extra-marital sexual affairs at alarming rates:
- 55% look at pornography at least monthly; and
- 35% had an extra-marital sexual affair while married.

Irenaeus of Lyons (120-202) on the Miraculous Gifts of the Holy Spirit

As I mentioned last week I’m reading Jeff Doles’ Miracles and Manifestations of the Holy Spirit in the History of the Church, and it’s amazing to see what God has been doing continously in His church throughout world history. The book is basically only made up by quotes from older works, and it gives clear proof that cessationism – the idea that miraculous spiritual gifts ceased with the apostles – hardly existed before Luther and Calvin. For example, take a look at what Irenaeus of Lyon, the second century bishop who was a disciple to Polycarp – who in turn was a disciple of John the evangelist – says concering miraculous gifts when he refuted the Gnostics in his famous work Against Heresies:
“Those who are in truth His disciples, receiving grace from Him, do in His name perform [miracles], so as to promote the welfare of other men, according to the gift which each one has received from Him. For some do certainly and truly drive out devils, so that those who have thus been cleansed from evil spirits frequently both believe [in Christ], and join themselves to the Church. Others have foreknowledge of things to come: they see visions, and utter prophetic expressions. Others still, heal the sick by laying their hands upon them, and they are made whole.
Yea, moreover, as I have said, the dead even have been raised up, and remained among us for many years. And what shall I more say? It is not possible to name the number of the gifts which the Church, [scattered] throughout the whole world, has received from God, in the name of Jesus Christ, who was crucified under Pontius Pilate, and which she exerts day by day for the benefit of the Gentiles, neither practising deception upon any, nor taking any reward from them* [on account of such miraculous interpositions]. For as she has received freely from God, freely also does she minister [to others]**. (Against Heresies, book 2, chapter 32, section 4)
But already some of the most faithful women, possessed of the fear of God, and not being deceived (whom, nevertheless, he did his best to seduce like the rest by bidding them prophesy), abhorring and execrating him, have withdrawn from such a vile company of revellers. This they have done, as being well aware that the gift of prophecy is not conferred on men by Marcus, the magician, but that only those to whom God sends His gracefrom above possess the divinely-bestowed power of prophesying; and then they speak where and when Godpleases, and not when Marcus orders them to do so. Dr. Stan was ONE OF THE GREATEST TRUTH TELLERS OF ALL TIME!!!
I felt badly that he wasn’t given more credit and air time by those who had a bigger platform. His real-history perspective was badly needed. And he understood there are dark, spiritual forces behind the globalists’ agenda.
I got to know Dr. Stan personally when Barbara invited us to visit with them in their home during a Radio Liberty conference:

In his living room, I was able to share with him what I had learned about what the Bible really says about who goes to heaven. Soon afterward, Dr. Stan posted this on his site:

Thank you, Dr. Stan for all you’ve done to help so many, most of whom didn’t want to hear. He did five hours of radio per day anyway, trying to reach as many as possible, even up until the end. In 2004, I suggested that he might do less hours per day, but he said, “no, no….” He interviewed Joel Skousen for the last time on 9/18/14. Joel has long been a weekly guest for many years, which I almost always listened to, and often reported on at ToBeFree.
It’s sad to see that you’ve passed before seeing spiritual revival come, which is what we needed to significantly enough change America, while we still had the chance.

Dr. Stanley Monteith, the nationally syndicated radio host and author who spent nearly 50 years exposing the globalist agenda, paving the way for many patriots to do the same, passed away this morning at the age of 85.
For many decades, Dr. Monteith blazed the trail for liberty radio and his tireless work revolutionized the liberty movement.
“Dr. Stan,” as he was known, served on the front lines warning of the spiritual battle taking place between good and evil and did tremendous work in exposing the vast network of secret societies and mysterious forces behind the men who make up the “Brotherhood of Darkness.” He was also a pioneer in warning about the dangers of fluoride, vaccines and America’s fiat Federal Reserve currency.
Dr. Monteith was also a good friend and a source of inspiration for Alex Jones.
“He was one of those people who was always at the epicenter of good change, defending liberty and battling tyranny,” Jones said today. “He did it absolutely with a servant’s heart and that’s what mattered.”
The classic introduction of Dr. Stan’s radio show, Radio Liberty, galvanized listeners into actively searching for the real truth rather than accepting the false explanations of the world around them without question.

Christian Evangelicals increasingly support Palestinian human rights
An article in Middle East Quarterly, a pro-Israel publication, reports that support for Israel is eroding among American evangelical Christians, with only 30 percent currently stating support for Israel above Palestinians.
This trend is even more pronounced among youth, according to an article by David Brog, Jewish-American executive director of “Christians United For Israel (CUFI), a major pro-Israel organization. Israeli Prime Minster Benjamin Netanyahu has called CUFI “a vital part of Israel’s national security” and columnist Charles Kauthammer has said, “I do not know of an organization in the world more important to Israel than CUFI.”

Much of the increased awareness of the situation, Brog reports, comes from evangelical experts on the Middle East who are speaking and writing widely on this issue, producing documentaries, organizing trips to the region, and creating conferences to inform Christians on the facts.
In the last few years three documentaries were made by Christians specifically for Christians to inform them on Palestine: With God on Our Side, Little Town of Bethlehem, and The Stones Cry Out. They were created by, respectively, Porter Speakman, a former Youth with a Mission member, Mart Green, chairman of the board of trustees of Oral Roberts University, and Yasmine Perni, an Italian journalist. Brog also names evangelicals such as Jim Wallis, Stephen Sizer, Tony Campolo, Serge Duss and sons Brian and Matt, and Palestinian Christians such as Sami Awad and Naim Ateek as among those educating Christians on Palestine.
Christian Universities and Palestine
Brog reports that while numerous people are aware of the work on college campuses for justice in Palestine, “many observers do not realize that such efforts are also “being waged on America’s Christian campuses.”
In his article Brog describes activities on four of America’s major Christian colleges:
Wheaton College
Brog reports that Wheaton College in Illinois is “commonly referred to as the “evangelical Harvard,” noting, “Some of the most prominent church leaders in America have graduated from Wheaton, including the Rev. Billy Graham, Sen. Dan Coats (Republican, Indiana), and George W. Bush’s former speechwriter Michael Gerson.”
Today, Wheaton is the home of Professor Gary Burge, an author who speaks widely on Israel-Palestine. “When Christians United for Israel (CUFI) announced plans to hold an event at Wheaton in January 2009, Burge went on the offensive,” Brog reports. “CUFI’s student members came under such intense pressure that they moved their event off-campus: There would be no pro-Israel event at the evangelical Harvard.”
Oral Roberts University
Brog writes that Oral Roberts University “has deep conservative Christian roots.” “Oral Roberts himself was a Pentecostal televangelist and a strong friend of Israel,” a number of major preachers in America graduated from the school, and pro-Israel preacher John Hagee has been on its board of trustees.
Today, however, the chair of the board of trustees chair is the aforementioned Mart Green, whose film is a powerful depiction of the Palestinian nonviolence movement. The university’s current president is Dr. William “Billy” Wilson, who was named as a speaker for what Brog calls “the leading anti-Israel Christian conference,” Christ at the Checkpoint, held at Bethlehem Bible College in March 2014.
Bethel University
Brog writes that Bethel is “representative of the direction that America’s Christian colleges are taking.” He notes, “Like many Christian schools, Bethel emphasizes racial reconciliation and cultural openness and has accordingly developed numerous opportunities for its students to study abroad.”

Scientists found women are better at multi-tasking but men are better at concentrating on a single task after they scanned the brains of 949 people (men’s brains, top, and women’s brains, bottom). Scientists have found that the female brain is ‘hard-wired’ to be better at multitasking.
Men’s brains, in comparison, are better at concentrating on single complex tasks – whether it be reading a map or cooking a meal.
Scientists scanned the brains of 949 young men and women in the biggest investigation of its kind to date. Using hi-tech diffusion MRI imaging, they mapped the connections between the different parts of the brains.
The researchers discovered that women have far better connections between the left and right sides of the brain, while men display more intense activity within the brain’s individual parts, especially in the cerebellum, which controls motor skills.
Men also have better connections between the front and back of the brain, giving them a better ability to quickly perceive information and use it immediately to carry out complex tasks.
This means they are better at things such as learning to swim or, as the old bone of contention has it, parking a car. Women are better at, for example, remembering a face, which means making connections between different parts of the brain.
The results are likely to be seen as supporting the theory behind best-selling pop psychology book Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus – that the sexes are as different as alien races.
Dr Ragini Verma, who carried out the study with colleagues at the University of Pennsylvania, said: ‘Of course individuals will differ, always.
‘But we said, if you take 1,000 people and analyse the data statistically….
