This reminds me of: When Billy Graham laughed to minimize Bill Clinton’s adultery
I understand that Pat puts this as a past sin, but the way he says it he also puts it in the continuing present: “He cheated on you, well, he’s a man. … Males have a tendency to wander a little bit. … Think of the temptations that are out there.”
It sounds like he’s enabling and making excuses for the husband to continue to willfully sin in this incredibly serious way as if he, himself has this mindset.
Jesus, Paul and John would have never made excuses for sexual sin. They would call the husband to serious repentance, warning him that otherwise, he can’t be a real, going-to-heaven Christian — let alone what this does to his wife and family — and others.
Spiritual leaders like these are a big reason why the church is mostly no longer Jesus’ bride. Pat is clearly Biblically disqualified to lead. See my links, below.
This is awful — and disgusting!

Pat Robertson To Woman with Cheating Husband: Get Over It, He’s a Man
Pat Robertson’s tells woman whose husband cheated to remember that “he’s a man” and to be grateful that she lives in America.
* * *
Loose transcription from MSNBC
Stop talking about the cheating! He cheated on you, well, he’s a man. So what you do is begin to focus on why you married him in the first place, on what he does good. Does he provide a home for you to live in, does he provide food for you to eat, does he provide clothes for you to wear, is he nice to the children, do you have a happy family, does he take your kids to sporting events, does he go out and watch their Little League games, does he share with you stuff that’s going on…is he handsome? Start focusing on those things and essentially fall in love with him all over again.
I recommend you reach out and touch him, touch his face—touch his face—hold his hand, look into his eyes, talk to him, you’re praying oh God, teach me to not hate him when he was with that stripper in that hotel room 10 years ago and I’ll never forgive him kind of thing please –so what are you focusing on? You’re focusing on the thing that makes you mad. Stop that. Start focusing on the good stuff. He must have something good or you wouldn’t have married him.
So give him honor instead of worrying about it. But recognize also, like it or not, males have a tendency to wander a little bit and what you want to do is make a home so wonderful that he doesn’t want to wander. Think of the temptations that are out there, the internet is FILLED with pornography, the magazines are filled with salacious pictures of women. Anywhere you turn around there’s some solicitation to the senses to entice a man.
What you have to do is say, ‘My husband was captured and I want to get him free. But reach out and think of the good stuff. Begin to thank God that you have a marriage that is together and that you live in America and good things are happening.

Gal. 5:13-6:10
13 For you, brothers, were called for freedom. Only don’t use your freedom for gain to the flesh, but through love be servants to one another. 14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 15 But if you bite and devour one another, be careful that you don’t consume one another. 16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one other, that you may not do the things that you desire. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, JEALOUSIES, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, 21 envyings, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things WILL NOT INHERIT the Kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, KINDNESS, goodness, faithfulness, 23 GENTLENESS, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 THOSE WHO BELONG TO CHRIST have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts. 25 If we live by the Spirit, let’s also walk by the Spirit. …
6:7 Don’t be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that will he also reap. 8 For he who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption. But he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
9 Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up. 10 So then, as we have opportunity, let’s do what is good toward all men, and especially toward those who are of the household of the faith.

This is a good one, because willfully giving into sin opens the door to demons to come in and then drive it — so it then seems impossible to stop.

“Much of church activity and fellowship also falls back upon the practice of psychology. Many church leaders are masterful psychologists. They know how to handle people and get the crowds to come. Their operation qualifies as an amazingly “successful” church. Part of the success of that church depends on people with business talents and part of it depends on people with natural gifts as salespersons and politicians.
A Christian congregation can survive and often appear to prosper in the community by the exercise of human talent and without any touch from the Holy Spirit. But it is simply religious activity, and the dear people will not know anything better until the great and terrible day when our self-employed talents are burned with fire and only what was wrought by the Holy Spirit will stand.”

I just wrote this on my Facebook page:
I’ve probably listened to this 3 or 4 times, and watched some of it too — partly to put together some of G. Edward’s thoughts for my post at ToBeFree, but also because I find Edward profound, and he’s such a great speaker and good guy! I have a lot of respect for him. He has been researching this for 50 years!
Edward doesn’t mention DIETRICH BONHOEFFER specifically, but he talks about the plot to kill Hitler at the very end of this broadcast [which seems to abruptly cut off, but more wasn’t actually said. I checked with the original].
I have always been impressed with Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s focus on the Sermon of the Mount, and his refusal to go along with Hitler when most of the pastors succumbed, but I’ve wondered if God really did lead him to try to kill Hitler. I think G. Edward is right. I don’t think it would have done any good had his group succeeded, and my guess is that the Holy Spirit didn’t actually lead Dietrich to attempt to assassinate Hitler, which ended with Bonhoeffer getting caught and executed.
Also, I personally believe it’s now too late to take America back. We missed our chance; though, we can still slow down the takeover, and live in the joy of the Lord, filled with the Spirit for the rest of our lives, no matter what happens:
– –
“We have to rediscover our humanity before it’s lost.”
Guns won’t work:
If Bonhoeffer had successfully killed Hitler, would someone just as bad replaced him? Himmler, for example?
“If you want to know what they will do, see what they have done when they have come to power. … See what Stalin did.”
~”Some of these people don’t think of themselves as scum. They think of themselves as intellectuals, the wise ones — because everyone else is too dumb, and they need their input.”

I was thinking today about how most churches have set an ungodly precedent in how they handle whistleblowers — the Snowdens who tried to resurrect the corrupted system.
How can we expect our government to be lovers of the truth if churches aren’t?

Great balance, and well said, Gary!
Paul also summed it up in Philippians 2:12-13:
So then, my beloved, even as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God who works in you both to will and to work, for his good pleasure.

CLEANSE OURSELVES?
Just Agree With The Bible. It is not that hard to do.
We do what we are able and God does what only He can do. We are in a partnership. We do cooperate with God. It is the Apostle’s Doctrine.
Let’s look at “cleanse” for example.
See it as it is written:
1) (2Cor 7:1 [AKJV/PCE]) Cleanse Ourselves
Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
2) (Eph 5:25 [AKJV/PCE]) Christ Cleanses
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
(Eph 5:26 [AKJV/PCE])
That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
(Eph 5:27 [AKJV/PCE])
That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
3) (Jas 4:8 [AKJV/PCE]) Cleanse Ourselves
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse [your] hands, [ye] sinners; and purify [your] hearts, [ye] double minded.
4) (1John 1:9 [AKJV/PCE]) Christ Cleanses
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Choosing only one side of this coin will land you in hell. Try to cleanse your self without Christ and you wind up in hell. Try to let Christ cleanse you while you do nothing to clean your self up. You will end up in hell. Do you think a man can lay with prostitutes and commit adultery without repentance and merely say, “Christ has made me clean, nothing I can do matters” and not wind up in hell?
We must accept ALL of the Apostle’s Doctrine, not just selected verses. No Apostle ever wrote a verse to anyone. They wrote entire letters. Knowing verses alone will not save you but rather will more likely lead you into deception and secure you a place in hell.
Some say we can not cleanse ourselves. They say only Jesus can do that. Others put all the work on man, thereby leading him down the path of endless legalism that can not save. A trip under the rigid law (ministration) of death and condemnation.
The bible says that we both cleanse ourselves and that Jesus Christ makes us clean. Let us say what the bible says the way the Apostles wrote it. Today men seem to think they are smarter and more gifted than Apostle Paul, Peter and James. Some think they are smarter than Jesus Himself. It is as though men are afraid to agree with the bible. They have the King Saul Syndrome. They abandon the Apostle’s Doctrine for the fear of men and seek to change scripture to suite the needs of compromisers.
Do your part, without which God will not do His.
Very sad. Tom E’s vision of revival happening at Abbott Loop should have been fulfilled decades ago, merely by getting right with those who have been hurt, as God clearly said through many, including me. See my related links at the bottom of this post as to the problems and the SOLUTIONS.
Instead of reconciling (which they won’t even teach), they’re teaching once-saved-always-saved, like the other spiritually dead churches. It really is just a show.
God resists the proud, but longs to give grace to the truly humble. How much longer do we have to wait? How much further will America fall until ‘ONE’ happens, “that the world will know” — Jesus’ heart-cry for us in John 17?

Abbott Loop: 2nd Visit – Not Much Change
Posted by Chris Thompson
Posted: July 31, 2009
Last year I visited Abbott Loop Community Church on June 22. I found a church not visitor-friendly, the music long, loud, and too much a show. However the message by a guest preacher was awesome, one of the best I’ve heard in my life. (click here for the review) One of their members contacted me recently, noting they had a new pastor and urging me to give them another try. I visited again on July 26 finding the church still not visitor-friendly, the music even longer, louder, and still a show. The new pastor, Josh Tanner, came across more like a youth pastor with lots of energy, excitement, but not particularly plowing deep into his topic. …
The music started promptly at 10 a.m. and continued, almost without interruption for close to an hour. It seemed more show than worship. People dutifully stood….
Josh Tanner is a younger preacher, but his talent, energy and delivery come across more as a youth pastor than that of a pastor who can bridge generations. The sermon seemed to be oversimplified and somewhat pedantic. On taking the pulpit he joked that he was “…all fired up with six Red Bull’s” then admitted he was playing with the crowd. It made me wonder about what else in his remarks he was joking about. You can listen to Tanner’s sermon here. It had a little scripture and lots of stories, vignettes, and remembrances.

“Let not many of you be teachers, my brothers,

Perhaps Monsanto will be right next to the willfully sinning pastors who refuse to get right with the people they’ve hurt, acting like nothing is wrong. And they won’t teach the truth about reconciliation, holiness, and Jesus’ desire that we’d be ‘ONE’ — “that the world will know” (John 17).
Many regularly James-3 curse the whistleblowers who try to warn the people.
Please, pastors who fit the above description, repent so Psalm 50:16-22 will no longer apply to you. And please look into what really happened on 9/11 so you won’t continue to support the police state and the end of America, by supporting the Republican establishment in all of their reverse-Christian and reprehensible-to-God endeavors.
Big Pharma will be down there too — and the PRESStitutes who sold out America for a few $$million a year, the globalists who sold their soul to the Devil for money and power, the entertainers who know they’re doing wrong, the secret society controlled politicians who act like they’re ‘Christians,’ etc..
