I POSTED this comment on Facebook a few days ago to concisely clarify what the Bible really says about women’s ministry in the church:
1 Timothy 2:12-14: “But I DON’T PERMIT a woman to teach, nor to exercise authority over a man, but to be in quietness. For [because] ADAM WAS FORMED FIRST [given a specific personality to do his tasks. Eve was then designed by God to complement man with complementary (not the same) characteristics — proven now by science], then Eve. Adam WASN’T DECEIVED, but the WOMAN, BEING DECEIVED, has fallen into disobedience….”
A FRIEND RESPONDED by sending me an article by Jack Hayford, entitled “A Woman’s Place in Christ,” which I’ve decided to critique. I currently believe this doctrine is the third most important in keeping real Christianity and the great awakening revival from happening.

In”A Woman’s Place in Christ,” Jack starts out saying the Bible says men and women are the same in every way [emphasis mine throughout]:
The Bible says in Galatians 3:28 that because of what Christ has done, there are no longer any differences among us. “There is neither Jew nor Greek” (no ethnic or national difference), “neither slave nor free” (no economic difference), “neither male nor female” (no gender difference), “for [we] are all one in Christ Jesus.” This verse refers to the equality we have in God.
Here, Paul was actually talking about salvation, when the text is shown in context, that abiding-in-Christ men and women are both children of God, “heirs” according to the promise. Paul did not say women and men no longer have God given personality differences (different and complementary strengths and weaknesses), and therefore no difference in roles. Galatians is about salvation. There “neither male nor female” regarding salvation.
26 For you are all children of God, through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 If you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed and heirs according to promise.
Jack quotes 1 Timothy 2:8-15. The second paragraph is the clearest text on this subject, because Paul gives two reasons why:
I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting; in like manner also, that the women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with propriety and moderation, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing, but, which is proper for women professing godliness, with good works.
Let a woman learn in silence with all submission. And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence. For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression. Nevertheless she will be saved in childbearing if they continue in faith, love, and holiness, with self-control.
Jack then says:
First, let’s see what the different verses in this passage do not mean.
That the women adorn themselves in modest apparel (v. 9). “All women should dress as crummy as possible to verify their holiness.”
Why does Jack choose the word “crummy?” Modest apparel is the opposite of “hot” and “sexy,” but should not be “crummy.” Who would interpret Paul’s statement this way?
Jack also says this passage does not mean:
Adam was formed first, then Eve (v. 13).“God likes men more than He does women.”
He’s absolutely correct here. God doesn’t like one sex more than the other because they’re gifted differently.
Jack then completely ignores what this important text really does mean.
“Adam was formed first” means: man was designed with unique giftings to be able to perform specific tasks well. God then made women with giftings that complement man’s giftings. Men and women’s personalities are complementary, not the same, contrary to what society is continually telling us.
Science has now proven this; though, the anti-God media tries to bury these truths:
Jack also doesn’t mention what Paul’s reason #2 does mean. He only says that Paul does not mean that “men are smarter than women,” which is of course not true. The issue is deception, not IQ.
Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression (v. 14). “Men are smarter than women.”
Eve was deceived by the Devil to the point of sinning, not because she was less intelligent, but because of a strength in her personality that is particularly beneficial in child bearing: empathy. Women are capable of having lots of empathy, and are often more interested in relationships than with facts, compared to men as a whole. But this can be a weakness in ways too, especially in determining Bible doctrine, which requires objectivity. [And please keep in mind that God only calls some men to be overseers (5-fold leaders – Eph. 4:11-16 – & elders). Many men who are leaders today were not even called by God to be leaders.]
Then Jack says:
We can’t analyze every verse, but we will look at a few of the most important ones.
But Jack, there only are four verses to analyze. What kind of an excuse…? The preceding, modest apparel paragraph isn’t directly related. According to Jack, the verses that say why women should not teach or have authority over men in the church (13 & 14) are not important enough to consider. This is a common way that teachers deceive the people — through omission. I see it often, and I hope it’s not on purpose. The establishment media regularly does the same. Jack only mentions what verses 13 and 14 do not say; though, these are the crucial verses to understand this text.
He does address verse 12:
“Let a woman be silent…”
The first thing we have to understand is that, in this passage, Paul is writing to Timothy to instruct him on how to lead a church. He is giving him counsel on how to deal with relationships within the body.
This is absolutely true, and is an important point. Paul is not talking about discussions outside of the assembly, socially.
Then Jack says Paul can’t possibly be saying what he actually said because Priscilla and Phoebe were recognized teachers; though, the Bible does not say they were “teachers,” “overseers” or elders.”
But we cannot divorce the counsel given here from what we find in other parts of Scripture. Elsewhere Paul mentions women who labored with him in the gospel (Philippians 4:3) and others, such as Priscilla and Phoebe, whom Paul recognizes as teachers and deaconesses (see Acts 18:26; Romans 16:1, 3 and 12). Therefore, he can’t be saying that women are to have no input regarding spiritual matters in the church.
Women can be deacons, because it’s not a spiritual-authority-over-a-man role. And in the next chapter in Timothy, Paul clearly states an overseer or elder must be the “husband of one wife” — a man. If women can be overseers according to God’s plan, then Paul simply would have said “married” instead.
Jack’s reasoning here also falls apart:
..let me begin by addressing verses 11-12: “Let a woman learn in silence with all submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence.” These verses are commonly interpreted to mean that a woman is permitted to teach only other women. In particular, older women may teach younger ones, as Titus 2:4-5 suggests.
…the older women, likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slandering, not given to much wine, teachers of good things-that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, home makers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.
But if this is true, it is true only in the United States. When a woman goes abroad as a missionary, she is both allowed and expected to teach, and not just to teach other women.
Because we have an unbiblical double standard doesn’t negate what Paul said. Witnessing to men here or anywhere is fine, but being an overseer, teaching in the assembly isn’t biblically allowed in the U.S. or outside of the U.S.. We don’t interpret what Paul said based upon our cultural practice.
Jack also says the misunderstanding is “mainly because the word “silence” is mistranslated in verses 11-12;” though, what Paul means is clear, because he says: “I don’t permit a woman to teach….”
As a longtime charismatic, Jack should know that his reasoning is incorrect here, stating:
If you look at 1 Timothy 2:12 in the context of the whole Bible, you will see that Paul couldn’t be prohibiting women from teaching, or even from teaching men. If he were, why would he, in another epistle, give rules for women to follow when they are prophesying? In 1 Corinthians 11:5, he is referring to prophetic utterances given in the midst of an entire congregation, one that includes men. We know prophecy can come by itself, or it can accompany either preaching or teaching.
Prophesying isn’t teaching. It’s a gift of the Spirit (1 Cor. 12:10) in which the person only says what God says through them. If the person prophesying is adding their own thoughts they’re not prophesying; though, this often passes for prophesy (in the few churches which still allow prophesy).
Jack started this article out saying there is no difference at all between women and men. Now he acknowledges:
God did give husbands authority over their wives. … The redemptive process requires that the husband take leadership, and the wife submit (see Ephesians 5:22-24).

I must say that I’m really disappointed in the way Jack handled this important, 1 Timothy 2 passage that I’ve always viewed as definitive regarding women’s ministry — because Paul gave the two reasons why, which Jack didn’t address.
I’ve always appreciated Jack standing up for the spiritual gifts on Television. His worship song “Majesty” is extraordinary, and he’s always come across as a kind man. But this teaching is dangerously misleading. It seems that people so greatly want to hear what they want to hear that they accept what pastors and the world is telling them without checking the word of God to make sure what they’re being taught is true — which the Bible prophesied:
“For The TIME WILL COME when THEY WILL NOT LISTEN to the sound doctrine, but, having itching ears, will heap up for themselves TEACHERS AFTER THEIR OWN LUSTS; and will TURN AWAY THEIR EARS FROM THE TRUTH, and turn aside to FABLES” (2 Tim. 4:3-4)

SAFEGUARD Suggestion to Minimize False Teaching — Allow Comments
One of the first things I did upon reading Jack’s article was to scroll down and see if there were comments. As usual, there are none. Some ministers do allow comments, but then erase those they disagree with. The establishment media doesn’t like comments too.
I always allow comments, whether they disagree or not, unless there is profanity or serious ill will — or if they are off topic.
We should not be afraid of the truth which will set us free from demonic bondage. The demons will run amuck if we buck God’s order in how he designed men and women. “Rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft.”
Submitting to God’s ways is for our own good — so we can be ONE with each other in Him “that the world will know!” God’s glory will be that great when ONE happens — Jesus’ prayer for us in John 17!
God’s guardrails are for our own good — that we might have LIFE!

Jesus didn’t support the government forcefully extracting money from the people to make Big Pharma rich as they drugged up the people with pharmakeia, and performed the most expensive operations possible.
Jesus dealt with the demons that caused the illnesses, and certainly would support eating the proper nutrients to take care of our bodies so we don’t need doctors.

Why Progressive Christians Are Ineffective and Unpersuasive
One of the most fascinating speeches in the Bible happens in Acts 5 with Jewish Pharisee Gamaliel addressing the Sanhedrin. He warns them that if the message being preached by the Apostles of Jesus was of man, it would fail. But if it was from God, it couldn’t be stopped.
It was of God, and it wasn’t stopped.
I find that passage particularly relevant today within American Christendom.
There is a reason that liberal Christian movements like those championed by Jim Wallis, Rachel Held Evans, Shane Claiborne and others are so ineffective and unpersuasive in American culture. Rather than seeking to glorify and build the Kingdom of God, they regularly appropriate the language of Scripture to advocate for earthly, largely political causes that never address the principal need of humanity: redemption from sin.
For instance, preaching the words of Scripture when it comes to our nation’s policy towards refugees is admirable (provided it is done in context) only if you don’t ignore, downplay, or reject the counsel of Scripture when it comes to policy regarding abortion, marriage, and human sexuality. So-called progressive Christians have long chastised their conservative brethren for cherry-picking Scripture to support certain political causes. And to the extent that conservatives have done that, it has been to our detriment.
One need only walk through the graveyard of the “Religious Right” for confirmation of that reality. The Religious Right did not fall apart because it sought to apply the truth of the Bible to politics. It was when it tied the message of the Gospel to a political agenda. Before long, the Republican Party became an idol, and its success was seen as the most effective way to advance righteousness in the land. The Religious Right ceased to be about God, and thus it ceased to be.
But the same is happening with the Progressive Christianity of Wallis, Evans, Claiborne, Brian McLaren, and Tony Campolo that so desperately wants to be a formidable political force in America. In an effort to become such, they use the Bible as a weapon not against the sin and unrighteousness that plagues humanity, but against those who don’t share their politics.
Loving like Jesus means caring about what He cared about, wanting what He wanted, acting like He acted. And any rational reading of Scripture reveals that Jesus always cared first about the spiritual health of the individual, second about their physical health. Healing the physical was His way of demonstrating He had authority to heal the spiritual — which was far more important.
Progressive Christians who focus only on physical poverty while ignoring spiritual poverty are not contending for the faith. They are a political movement that finds themselves in a flesh-driven struggle for power rather than a spirit-driven struggle for Kingdom building. They mistake seeking social “justice” for the poor with seeking eternal justification for the sinner. That is a tragic confusion. …
Until that changes, they will remain a movement of man, not the cross. Gamaliel tells us how that story ends.

What we saw broke my heart and strengthened my resolve to end abortion, the greatest human rights injustice of our time.
First, there were the “pussy hats.” These pink knit hats with two small, pointy ears are part of a project launched over Thanksgiving weekend in support of “women’s rights.” Feminists are obsessed with cats, and then there’s the whole female anatomy/Donald Trump double entendre.
Then, there were the signs. It was hard to find any without profanity. They featured sparkly uteruses, the Virgin Mary as female genitals, and frequently made use of the word “p****.” A lot of the signs just said, “f*** Trump.”
And the children. Parents apparently saw nothing wrong with putting “pussy hats” on their elementary school-age daughters and bringing their kids to a march where images of sex acts and sexual assault were plastered on signs about the president.
The march seemed to be primarily pro-abortion rather than pro-transgender. It was a celebration of the sexual revolution, procreation-free sex, and abortion. …
There was an overwhelming lack of joy at the women’s march – just anger and sadness. But the women who marched aren’t our enemies. They deserve to be shown the love, compassion, and mercy that are the hallmarks of the pro-life movement. They are all potential converts to the pro-life worldview. Many of them have no doubt been harmed by abortion. …
If modern feminism means complaining about the objectification of women while dressing as female genitalia, believing women are “oppressed” without the right to kill a defenseless human being, and thinking that women aren’t empowered unless the government provides us with free cancer-causing contraceptives, count me out.

Notice that Eve was the one who was deceived. Adam sinned willfully – probably out of devotion to his wife.

This is a Jaw dropping and very sad list; though, I have to give this one caveat:
We’re supposed to teach Jesus’ GREATEST TWO COMMANDMENTS as the NEW COVENANT requirement, not the old covenant law.
Jesus increased the salvation requirement in Matthew 5. So now we actually have to have pure hearts to avoid going to hell, not merely acceptable outward actions.
For example, Jesus proclaimed in Matthew 5 that ‘adultery’ now includes adultery in the heart (thought life). And now, not only must we not murder people, but we also cannot hate them, and etc..

I don’t believe Joseph Prince was always a heretic; but as he describes in his book, “Destined to Reign”, there was a point in his life and ministry where he turned away from the doctrine he had originally believed and taught himself. He still today is eloquent, charming, and gifted. He has a mastery of the language of “Word of Faith” having been groomed by some great men of God. He is also proficient at quoting scripture. Nevertheless, he is utterly self-deceived having demonstrated a willful ignorance of truth and having cultivated a warped understanding and severely twisted and irresponsible method of Biblical interpretation.
Here is a short summary of some of the many deadly heresies advocated by Joseph Prince in “Destined to Reign”:
1-Grace and law are opposites (this lie was advocated by 2nd century heretic “Marcion”)
2-Grace is one-sided and unfair (downplays faith and obedience and misunderstands divine justice)
3- Christianity is effortless (the kingdom of heaven is a welfare state)
4-Asking forgiveness for sin is unnecessary for “believers”
5-Moses and Jesus taught opposite doctrines
6-The law brings condemnation (to the wicked) and therefore Jesus removed it
7-Preaching the law makes people sin more, therefore it should not be taught at church because it will harm your church congregations (better to leave them ignorant I guess)
8-The gift of righteousness means we are righteous even if we are not
9-Unconditional forgiveness
10-God was perpetually angry in the Old Testament and perpetually happy in the New Testament
11-God does not judge nations for wickedness
12-If God judges people, cities and nations today, then He should apologize to Jesus for the cross
13-Believers aren’t punished for sin
14-We never truly stop sinning but God’s ok with that
15-We are not held more accountable to God when we know more, nor do we face greater punishment if we fail having known the truth, nor will we go through greater trials or tribulations as we draw close to God
16-The Word of God doesn’t produce faith, only the Word of Christ
17-The Word of God and the word of Christ don’t agree on some things
18-Christian’s cannot commit the unpardonable sin
19-Once a person is saved they can never be lost
20-Part of Jesus’ teaching is not applicable because it’s “Old Testament”
21- We can’t take doctrine from the gospels because Jesus had not yet risen from the dead yet
22-Paul’s the lead authority on doctrine because he addressed the church
23-Confession of sins for believers is about “being open” with God, not about repentance because we are already forgiven
24-Even though the book of I John was written to the church, the opening chapter is only for Gnostics and therefore we can disregard the instructions to confess our sin
25-Confession of sin is unnecessary because we would have to confess all the time (inferring we would never stop sinning)
26-Paul didn’t teach confession of sins
27-Christ died to save us from the Old Testament covenant
28-Not only should we not teach “the law” from the pulpit, we should only teach grace (even though the New Testament gives 1050 commands for believers to obey, we should still skip that part)
29-Condemnation is the deepest root of all our problems (actually condemnation is caused by sin, hence the deeper problem is sin)
30-An evil conscience is one that convicts you of sin and failure (in other words a WORKING conscience)
31-The Holy Spirit does not convict us of sin or of judgment
32-The Holy Spirit only convicts us of righteousness (when we sin)
33-Satan likes the Ten Commandments
34-The law caused Paul to be deceived in sin
35-Paul continued in sin but realized he was not condemned anyway
36-The prodigal son didn’t really repent, he was just conning his father for food
37-We shouldn’t talk about sin, repentance or judgment from the pulpit, we should only talk about the goodness of God
38-Jesus frequently broke the law of Moses to help sinners
39-God didn’t unconditionally protect rebellious sinners in the Old Testament who were bitten by serpents but He will unconditionally protect rebellious sinners (“Christians”) in the New Testament
40-God had Israel put the Ten Commandments in the Ark of the Covenant to “hide” the law under the mercy seat
41-Abraham had a covenant of grace, but Moses’ had an inferior covenant of works
42-Repentance doesn’t involve mourning or sorrow (or confession) for sin, it just means you changed your mind about something
43-The doctrine of repentance from sin is not for believers
44-Grace is a teacher so we don’t need the law
45-Grace-preaching is the only means of effective evangelism
46-Paul “winked” at the sins of Corinth because they were under grace but firmly rebuked the sins of Galatia because they taught the law
47-“Falling from grace” doesn’t mean sinning, it means reverting to the law.”
48-If you teach the law you are a “man-pleaser”
49-Fasting is unnecessary and is only in the New Testament because fasting enthusiasts added it in later manuscript copies
50-“When Satan tempted Jesus to “turn the stones to bread”, he was actually tempting Jesus to get nourishment from the law instead of trusting in the love of God!!!”

The futility of gender-neutral parenting

Offering kids the opportunity to pursue what they’d like, freed from societal expectations, is an undeniably positive thing — whether it has to do with toys, clothing, or their future aspirations. But the scientific reality is that it’s futile to treat children as blank slates with no predetermined characteristics. Biology matters.
A large and long-standing body of research literature shows that toy preferences, for example, are innate, not socially constructed or shaped by parental feedback.
Most girls will gravitate toward socially interesting toys, like dolls, that help social and verbal abilities develop. Most boys will gravitate toward toys that are mechanically interesting, like cars and trucks, fostering visuo-spatial skills. …
I hear from many well-meaning parents who raised their children in gender-neutral homes and were surprised to find that they nevertheless gravitated toward stereotypical interests and toys.
