Once saved always saved? No eternal security.

Addressing eternal security teachers Zane Hodges, Charles Stanley, Dave Hunt. For certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord. (Jude 4)

Who-Goes-To-Heaven Scriptures — Narrow is the Way | Who are the Children of God? (my article which no one can disprove)

Pope Francis says “those who DON’T BELIEVE and who DON’T SEEK the faith” can GO TO HEAVEN by obeying their CONSCIENCE – Vs – LIFE IN THE SON is having a CLEAN CONSCIENCE. But we must KNOW Him to be cleansed by Jesus’ blood. “All have sinned….” Then, by the Holy Spirit we can overcome sin to keep our consciences clean.

The ‘Pope’ may have good intentions, trying to be inclusive, but he’s actually hurting many, giving them false, unbiblical hope.

Perhaps he doesn’t believe in ‘original sin.’ “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” We all must be forgiven by Jesus’ shed blood. There is no other way to get clean, so then we can live with a clean conscience, empowered and led by the Holy Spirit, abiding in Him.

“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.” – Romans 8:1

We don’t start out with a clean slate. We all must be forgiven to be able to then walk with a clean conscience, as we obey the Spirit and don’t walk according to the flesh.

Unreached people can have an encounter with Jesus without being preached to, but they still must know Jesus to be forgiven by Him. And then we keep our consciences clean (once washed) by overcoming sin through the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit, which the Bible clearly states:

Who-Goes-To-Heaven Scriptures — Narrow is the Way | Who are the Children of God? — “There is therefore now *no condemnation* to those who are IN CHRIST Jesus, who don’t WALK according to the flesh, but ACCORDING TO THE SPIRIT.”

The emphasis on having a clean conscience is completely biblical, but it’s impossible unless we’re forgiven and then empowered to obey, being led by the Spirit. We must be born-again, Jesus said. Then, from a clean slate we take up our cross and follow Him. We abide in Him where fruit remains and our joy is full (John 15), no matter what we have to go through.

“For as the sufferings of Christ abound to us, even so our comfort also abounds through Christ” (2 Cor. 1:5).

Life in the Son is about having a clean conscience, but we must know Him to be cleansed. Then we can live overcoming, Holy-Spirit-empowered lives to keep our consciences clean.

“For if you live after the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God.” (Romans 8:13, 14).

Jesus died on the cross so we could be free, indeed — taking up our crosses and following Him!

Life in the Son!

Pope Francis Says Atheists Can Be Forgiven By God

The Huffington Post UK  |  Posted: 12/09/20

The pontiff made the unprecedented gesture in a letter to a newspaper, which appeared under the byline ‘Francesco’.

“You ask me if the God of the Christians forgives those who don’t believe and who don’t seek the faith,” he wrote, according to The Independent.

“I start by saying – and this is the fundamental thing – that God’s mercy has no limits if you go to him with a sincere and contrite heart. The issue for those who do not believe in God is to obey their conscience.”

“Sin, even for those who have no faith, exists when people disobey their conscience.”

According to The Telegraph, he also said the “mercy of God has no limits”, and could also include non-believers.

Tozer on “We Don’t Have To Obey” ‘Heresy’: “The truth is that SALVATION apart from OBEDIENCE is unknown in the sacred Scriptures”

From: A.W. Tozer Facebook

Salvation Apart from Obedience?

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. —Ephesians 2:10

Therefore, I must be frank in my feeling that a notable heresy has come into being throughout our evangelical Christian circles—the widely accepted concept that we humans can choose to accept Christ only because we need Him as Savior and we have the right to postpone our obedience to Him as Lord as long as we want to! …

I think the following is a fair statement of what I was taught in my early Christian experience and it certainly needs a lot of modifying and a great many qualifiers to save us from being in error.

“We are saved by accepting Christ as our Savior; we are sanctified by accepting Christ as our Lord; we may do the first without doing the second!”

The truth is that salvation apart from obedience is unknown in the sacred Scriptures. Peter makes it plain that we are “chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit for obedience” (1 Peter 1:2).

God’s Heart: “I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn, turn from your evil ways”

Paul in 1 Timothy 2:1-8

I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks, be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all; the testimony in its own times; to which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I am telling the truth in Christ, not lying), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.

I desire therefore that the men in every place pray, lifting up holy hands without anger and doubting.

The Haters: Can Jealous People Go To Heaven?

Gal. 5:13-6:10

13 For you, brothers, were called for freedom. Only don’t use your freedom for gain to the flesh, but through love be servants to one another. 14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 15 But if you bite and devour one another, be careful that you don’t consume one another. 16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one other, that you may not do the things that you desire. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

19 Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, JEALOUSIES, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, 21 envyings, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things WILL NOT INHERIT the Kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, KINDNESS, goodness, faithfulness, 23 GENTLENESS, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 THOSE WHO BELONG TO CHRIST have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts. 25 If we live by the Spirit, let’s also walk by the Spirit. …

6:7 Don’t be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that will he also reap. 8 For he who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption. But he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.

Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up. 10 So then, as we have opportunity, let’s do what is good toward all men, and especially toward those who are of the household of the faith.

Great balance, and well said, Gary!

Paul also stated how we must do our part as God does His in Philippians 2:12-13:

So then, my beloved, even as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God who works in you both to will and to work, for his good pleasure.

CLEANSE OURSELVES?

Just Agree With The Bible. It is not that hard to do.

We do what we are able and God does what only He can do. We are in a partnership. We do cooperate with God. It is the Apostle’s Doctrine.

Let’s look at “cleanse” for example.

See it as it is written:

1) (2Cor 7:1 [AKJV/PCE]) Cleanse Ourselves
Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

2) (Eph 5:25 [AKJV/PCE]) Christ Cleanses
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

(Eph 5:26 [AKJV/PCE])
That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

(Eph 5:27 [AKJV/PCE])
That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

3) (Jas 4:8 [AKJV/PCE]) Cleanse Ourselves
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse [your] hands, [ye] sinners; and purify [your] hearts, [ye] double minded.

4) (1John 1:9 [AKJV/PCE]) Christ Cleanses
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Choosing only one side of this coin will land you in hell. Try to cleanse your self without Christ and you wind up in hell. Try to let Christ cleanse you while you do nothing to clean your self up. You will end up in hell. Do you think a man can lay with prostitutes and commit adultery without repentance and merely say, “Christ has made me clean, nothing I can do matters” and not wind up in hell?

We must accept ALL of the Apostle’s Doctrine, not just selected verses. No Apostle ever wrote a verse to anyone. They wrote entire letters. Knowing verses alone will not save you but rather will more likely lead you into deception and secure you a place in hell.

Some say we can not cleanse ourselves. They say only Jesus can do that. Others put all the work on man, thereby leading him down the path of endless legalism that can not save. A trip under the rigid law (ministration) of death and condemnation.

The bible says that we both cleanse ourselves and that Jesus Christ makes us clean. Let us say what the bible says the way the Apostles wrote it. Today men seem to think they are smarter and more gifted than Apostle Paul, Peter and James. Some think they are smarter than Jesus Himself. It is as though men are afraid to agree with the bible. They have the King Saul Syndrome. They abandon the Apostle’s Doctrine for the fear of men and seek to change scripture to suite the needs of compromisers.

Do your part, without which God will not do His.

A false convert’s favorite passage is often Matthew 7:1-5. But just a few verses down is their LEAST favorite passage…

Matthew7

Matthew 7

1″Don’t judge, so that you won’t be judged. 2For with whatever judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with whatever measure you measure, it will be measured to you. 3Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but don’t consider the beam that is in your own eye? 4Or how will you tell your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye;’ and behold, the beam is in your own eye? 5You hypocrite! First remove the beam out of your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck out of your brother’s eye.

VS

13″Enter in by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter in by it. 14How narrow is the gate, and restricted is the way that leads to life! Few are those who find it.

15″Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves. 16By their fruits you will know them. Do you gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles? 17Even so, every good tree produces good fruit; but the corrupt tree produces evil fruit. 18A good tree can’t produce evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree produce good fruit. 19Every tree that doesn’t grow good fruit is cut down, and thrown into the fire. 20Therefore, by their fruits you will know them.

21Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22Many will tell me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works?’ 23Then I will tell them, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you who work iniquity.’

Aim to Be Perfect

Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
Romans 6:11,12

Christianity is a life change—a continual life change. In the example of Christ, we have been given a goal at which to aim, and as Charles Finney explains, it is that aim which distinguishes a true follower of Jesus.

Aim at being perfect. Every young convert should be taught that if it is not his purpose to live without sin, he has not yet begun to be a Christian. What is Christianity, but supreme love to God and a supreme purpose of heart or disposition to obey God? If there is not this, there is no Christianity at all.

It should be our constant purpose (aim) to live wholly to God and obey all His commandments. We should live so that if we were to sin, it would be an inconsistency, an exception, an individual case, in which we act contrary to the fixed and general purpose of our lives.

That is the essence of the true Christian walk, not to see what we can get away with, but instead, to see what we can stay away from. In following that course, it is easier to live a holy life, focused on our example—Jesus.

FASTING with Prayer in the Early Church: What the New Testament really says — Fasting isn’t only to calm the flesh and draw near to God. Now there is even clinical evidence showing tremendous health benefits!

A woman really did surprise me in a comment, today, saying: “Fasting is not taught in the New Testament.” So I thought I’d clear the air to show what the New Testament does teach about fasting.

– –

In the new covenant, fasting isn’t specifically required, but holiness is, and fasting helps us calm our flesh so we can rest in God and find Him during prayer — and be real-going-to-heaven, full-of-fruit Christians. We must abide in Christ to be free.

Rom. 8

1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

5 ..the mind of the Spirit is life and peace….

12 So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13 For if you live after the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God.

There is much historical evidence that early Christians did fast two days a week. For example in the Didache  (70-100 AD) we see:

But let not your fasts be with the hypocrites [probably those living under the old covenant law – editor], for they fast on the second and fifth day of the week. Rather, fast on the fourth day and the Preparation (Friday).

And it’s interesting that this two day period just happens to turn out to be extremely healthy physically:

Now is the time to fast:

Lu 5:33-35 [Also Mt.9:14-15 & Mk. 2:18-20]

Then they said to Him, “Why do the disciples of John fast often and make prayers, and likewise those of the Pharisees, but Yours eat and drink?” And He said to them, “Can you make the friends of the bridegroom fast while the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them; then they will fast in those days.”

~

Fasting with prayer builds faith and conquers unbelief (Jesus had the Holy Spirit in him, the way Christians do today, but the disciples didn’t, until Pentecost):

Mt. 17:18-21 [Also Mk. 9:17-29]

Jesus rebuked him, the demon went out of him, and the boy was cured from that hour. Then the disciples came to Jesus privately, and said, “Why weren’t we able to cast it out?” He said to them, “Because of your unbelief. For most certainly I tell you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. But this kind doesn’t go out except by prayer and fasting.”

~

Fasting with prayer helps us draw near to God:

Ac 10:30

So Cornelius said, “Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,

~

The Holy Spirit gave important guidance while they were praying and fasting — BIG decisions need BIG guidance:

Ac 13:2-3

As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” Then, having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent [them] away.

Ac 14:23

So when they had appointed elders in every church, and prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord in whom they had believed.

~

Couples agreeing to fast and pray at times:

1Co 7:5

Do not deprive one another except with consent for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again so that Satan does not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

~

Don’t make a big deal out of it:

Mt 6:16-18

“Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who [is] in the secret [place]; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.”

~

An 84-year-old widow’s example, even before the Holy Spirit came on Pentecost:

Lu 2:37

…and this woman [was] a widow of about eighty-four years, who did not depart from the temple, but served [God] with fastings and prayers night and day.

~

We also see in the Didache  (70-100 AD), this interesting passage that here includes fasting for those who persecute us:

There are two ways, one of life and one of death, but a great difference between the two ways. The way of life, then, is this: First, you shall love God who made you; second, love your neighbor as yourself, and do not do to another what you would not want done to you. And of these sayings the teaching is this: Bless those who curse you, and pray for your enemies, and fast for those who persecute you. For what reward is there for loving those who love you? Do not the Gentiles do the same? But love those who hate you, and you shall not have an enemy. Abstain from fleshly and worldly lusts.

Antinomianism

It’s a short jump from the hyper-grace message to complete antinomianism, which literally means “against law.” In practice, it means that “anything goes,” since Jesus has set us free. “You’re not going to put me into bondage….” The problem is, Jesus didn’t set us free to sin; He set us free from sin.

Once again there are scriptural truths that antinomians emphasize, such as we are under grace, not law (Rom. 6:14); we died to the law so that we could now live to serve God (Rom. 7:1—6); and we are no longer under the tutelage of the law (Gal. 3:24—25).

What they fail to realize is that now, under the new covenant, the law is written on our hearts (Heb. 8:10), and Jesus died for us and broke the power of sin on our lives, so that now, by the Spirit, we can live out the righteous requirements of the law (Rom. 8:1—4).

And they fail to realize that Jesus calls us beyond the requirements of the law in His teaching, stating, for example, that adultery refers to adultery of the heart and not just the physical act (Matt. 5:27-28). …

If we choose to live in this “freedom to sin,” then we need to know the “fate on the other end.”

Sin will take hold of your hand, kiss you on the cheek, whisper empty promises into your love-struck ear, woo you into the bedchamber, lull you to sleep, and then stab you in the back. … Sin will love you for a season and curse you for eternity.

Challenging the authority of the Word

[…]

For the most part, the challenge to the authority of the Scriptures is subtler, and some of it flows out of the deification of man: “The Bible must live up to my standards. I will judge the God of the Bible based on my morality rather than the God of the Bible judging me based on His morality.”

Because of this mentality it is more and more common to hear believers talk about the problem they have with the God of the Old Testament or to question whether the Bible really means what it says, a case in point being a pro-homosexual reading of Scripture. The problem is not that the verses aren’t clear. The problem is that we know homosexuals who say they really love the Lord and seem to be very Christlike, and they are devoted to each other as a couple and even pray together in the Spirit.

So what do we do? Rather than say to the practicing homosexuals [or to hating, heterosexual lusting, envying, lying, or etc. ‘Christians’], “You may be very sincere, but the Word of God is very clear,” we question what the Word says despite its clarity. And so, rather than speaking the truth in love to sinners and telling them that if they want to please the Lord and be in right relationship with Him, they must take up the cross and follow Him, we reinterpret (or rewrite) the Word.

In short, When the Scriptures contradict our feelings and preferences, rather than crucify our feelings and preferences and bow down before God and His Wordwe question God’s Word.

2 Corinthians 6:14-18

Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? 15 What agreement has Christ with Belial? Or what portion has a believer with an unbeliever?

What agreement has a temple of God with idols? For you are a temple of the living God. Even as God said, “I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they will be my people.”

Therefore, “‘Come out from among them, and be separate,’ says the Lord. ‘Touch no unclean thing. I will receive you.

Geocentricity and the Bible — It makes sense that God would use our perspective in referring to the relative motion of the Earth and sun

From: genesismission.4t.com

Geocentricity and the Bible

There are those who claim that the Bible says that the sun and the rest of the universe go around a motionless Earth. Some use this claim to mock the Bible. Some Christians have embraced the idea….

 […]

Does the Bible say that the Earth is motionless?

The following verses are often use by Geocentrics to claim that the Earth does not move.

1 Chronicles 16:30. Fear before him, all the earth: the world also shall be stable, that it be not moved.

Psalm 93:1. The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is established, that it cannot be moved.

Psalm 96:10. Say among the heathen that the LORD reigneth: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously….”

The word “world:” in these verses is translated from the Hebrew word “tebel” [ Strong’s Ref. # 08398 ] and it means “the fertile and inhabited Earth.” It is likely referring to only dry land and not the Planet Earth. This is supported by the use of the same Hebrew word in geologic contexts that can only be a reference to dry land.

[…]

The Bible and sun movement

[…]

There are a total of 50 references to sun motion in the Bible, 46 of which are references to sunrise and sun set.

Ecclesiastes 1, 5: “The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteth to his place where he arose.”

This verse is an excellent example of the sun’s motion as observed from the surface of the Earth and it is literally true from the observational perspective of the human author Solomon.

[…]

That leaves just 4 verses to deal with, and they are:

  • Joshua 10:12,13
  • Habakkuk 3:11
  • Isaiah 38:8
  • Psalm 19:4-6

Joshua 10: 12. Then spake Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.
13.  And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.

This verse is part of the historic narrative of the conquest of the land of Canaan, and there is no reason to take this as referring to absolute motion. What Joshua wanted was extended daylight so that he could win a battle, to get it he asked God to stop the sun and Moon. He was not concerned with the sun and Moon’s absolute motion, but he wanted the sun to stay put in the sky, so that he would have enough day light to win the battle, and so he asked God to stop sun’s and Moon’s motion through the sky. In verse 12 Joshua asked God to do this based on what he would observe, and in verse 13, it describes God’s answer also from Joshua’s perspective. If God has switched frames of reference here the narrative would be needlessly difficult to understand. This view is supported by the fact that the second part refers to sun set, and such a reference can only be an observational description, so it logical to conclude that the entire verse is observational.

Thus this verses are shown not to be geocentric, and that leaves only three verses to deal with.

Habakkuk 3: 11. The sun and moon stood still in their habitation: at the light of thine arrows they went, and at the shining of thy glittering spear.

This verse simply referes to the events of Joshua 10:12,13 and maintains the same observational language an so there no reason to consider this verse as refering to absolute motion.

Thus this verse is shown not to be geocentric, and that leaves only thwo verses to deal with.

Isaiah 38:8.  Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down.

This verse is a good scientifically described observation. It says that it went back 10 degrees and that it says that it did so relative to a specific observational device called a sun dial. Also the verse gives specific measurements; (10 degrees ), that combined with the reference to the observational device, shows that this is clearly an observational description.

Thus this verse is shown not to be geocentric, and that leaves only one verse to deal with.

Psalm 19:4-6 Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.”

Geocentrics love to point out that is no place in the Bible that says the Earth orbits the sun or rotates, while this is true there is also no place in the Bible that says the sun orbits the Earth. The claim Psalm 19:4-6 says the sun orbits the Earth, but the claim does not stand up to objective scrutiny.

While this passage is little more difficult to interpret because of the clearly poetic and symbolic language, bit once again it is simply a description of the suns motion across the sky as seen by an observer on Earth. The first clue is the fact that there is no mention of the Earth, if God had intended to say the sun goes around the Earth, he could have simply said, his circuit is around the Earth or something similar but He does not. Verse 6 is describing the observed motion of the sun across the sky, and the use of the word circuit suggests the daily repeating this observed motion.

Thus these verses are shown not to be geocentric, and that leaves geocentrics with nothing. To see these verses as geocentric requires assuming that the Bible would only use absolute motion never use totally human observational descriptions. While the Bible is was written by God, He use human writer[s], writing to human readers, so it makes [sense] that God would use our perspective in referring to the relative motion of the Earth and sun.

Geocentrics seem [to] not understand the concept of relative motion. They think that relative motion is a case of … the observation being true from one view point and false from another but this is not the case. Relative motion involves describing something that is absolutely true from different perspectives. One time while flying I saw another plane go by my widow at about 1200 mph. Now it was absolutely true that the relative speed of the two planes was about 1200 mph, but while I saw that absolute truth as the other plane go by at about 1200 mph, a passenger in the other pane would have see my plane go by at about 1200 mph and an observer right below us would have seen both planes going opposite direction at about 600 mph each. Now all three of us would see the relative speed as about 1200 mph, that speed was an absolute truth, but we each saw it from a different perspective.

Applying this to the problem at hand, the absolute truth is that the sun and the Earth move relative to each other, but there are different ways of describing that relative motion and the Bible describes it from an Earth bound perspective.

Luther’s OSAS ‘only believe’ theme song “The just shall live by faith” is not only in Romans 1. Hebrews 10:26-39 shows what this famous passage really means

We had a big discussion on Facebook recently, and I shared this about Martin Luther in regards to who really goes to heaven.

Luther read “The just shall live by faith” in Paul’s introduction in his letter to Romans, and ran with his faulty interpretation to his own demise, which I’ll here show. And sadly, many have and still are following in his footsteps.

What the Bible really says about “The just shall live by faith.”

– –

Question:
“U bring up willful sin a lot where do u get that from Hebrews?”

My Answer:
Yes, ___, while in high school in ___, I found the truth about “willfully sinning” while reading through the entire New Testament on my own to see if the eternal security/once-saved-always-saved doctrine was true or not.

Hebrews 10:26-39

26 For IF WE SIN *WILLFULLY* after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains NO MORE SACRIFICE for sins [names removed from the Book of Life – Rev. 3:1-5], 27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and a fierceness of fire [HELL] which will devour the adversaries.

28 A man who disregards Moses’ law dies without compassion on the word of two or three witnesses. 29 HOW MUCH WORSE PUNISHMENT, do you think, will he be judged worthy of, who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the BLOOD OF THE COVENANT WITH WHICH HE WAS SANCTIFIED an unholy thing, and has insulted the Spirit of GRACE?

30 For we know him who said, “Vengeance belongs to me,” says the Lord, “I will repay.” Again, “THE LORD WILL JUDGE *HIS PEOPLE*.” 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. …

35 Therefore don’t throw away your boldness, which has a great reward. 36 For YOU NEED ENDURANCE so that, HAVING *DONE THE WILL OF GOD*, YOU MAY RECEIVE the promise.

37 “In a very little while, He who comes will come, and will not wait. 38 But *THE RIGHTEOUS will live by faith* [Luther’s “ONLY BELIEVE” theme song that he misinterpreted in Rom. 1:17 & Gal. 3:11]. If he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.” 39 But we are not of those who shrink back TO DESTRUCTION, but of those who have faith to the saving of the soul.

It’s interesting that verse 38 in the Hebrews 10:26-39 passage, “The just shall live by faith” was Martin Luther’s famous ‘Eureka’ moment, and became his “ONLY BELIEVE,” OSAS theme song that most evangelicals loudly proclaim today.

But Luther read “The just shall live by faith” first in Romans 1. So by the time he got to Hebrews 10, apparently he was already indoctrinated, so he couldn’t accept its usage here, where being ‘just’ or ‘righteous’ requires holy living — not *willfully* sinning.

So instead of change his doctrine to require holiness, he concluded that 4 NT books were subordinate: Hebrews, James, Jude & Revelation.

The same “The just shall live by faith” verse is also in Galatians 3, where Paul was addressing the Judaizers. And we’ve seen what Paul then specifically said about who goes to heaven in chapter 5 and 6.

I was raised Wisconsin Synod Lutheran, and attended their schools K-12, but I was never told that Luther did horrendous things in his later life. “Only believe” justified his willfully sinning. This is what he wrote to Melanchthon:

Martin Luther: Sin Boldly — “No sin can separate us from Him, even if we were to kill or commit adultery thousands of times each day”

And this article is linked under the “Sin Boldly” article, which shows how reverse-Christian Luther actually became in his behavior. John Calvin was OSAS too:

The Protestant Reformers Were Frauds: By their Fruits You Will Know Them — Martin Luther was a false teacher, a racist, a persecutor and a murderer! John Calvin was a false teacher, a deranged tyrant, a persecutor and a murderer!

When Mark Drake says to ignore what Jesus clearly said about overcoming in Revelation 2 and 3, this is THE SPIRITUAL AVALANCHE Steve Hill is talking about. Mark Drake is snowing the people with Steve Hill’s Lies #2,3 & 5. Look especially at Lie #5:

Spiritual Avalanche – Steve Hill: The 7 Great Lies in the Church Today — Overemphasis of Prosperity • Exaggerated View of Grace (grace-changers nullify all divine warnings) • Antinomianism = against rules, so “anything goes” (but “Jesus didn’t set us free to sin; He set us free from sin”) • Gazing Upon Man, not God • Challenging the Authority of the Word (God didn’t really mean what He said) • Rejecting Hell • Universal Reconciliation

The challenging of God’s authority goes back to the Garden of Eden, starting with the serpent’s challenge to Eve: “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” (Gen. 3:1). This satanic challenge was twofold: First, did God really say that? And second, God didn’t really mean what He said. After all, you won’t die if you eat from the tree (vv. 1-5).

On May 5, 2013 at Abbott Loop Community Church, Mark Drake taught “Living Set Free: Galatians 3”. The podcast is available here. I transcribed this, starting at minute-45:

Be careful when you read the first few chapters of the book of Revelation, where it repeatedly says: ‘to him who overcomes will I do this,’ and’ to him who overcomes will I do that,’ because the temptation of the Devil is: ‘well you’re not overcoming everything yet, so you don’t get that.’

Well, I’ve got good news for you: there is an Overcomer Who has overcome, and if you’ve received Him by faith His overcomingness lives in you. I’m an overcomer because the Overcoming One lives in me.

Paul says the law has been fulfilled. Jesus fulfilled it. And if He fulfilled it and He lives in you the law has *already been fulfilled* in you. The righteous demands of the law were fulfilled by Jesus.

And because He is in me and I am in Him. [unintelligible] sitting around the dinner table at the last supper — ‘if you abide in Me and  I abide in You’

I am in Him and He’s in me — whatever He’s accomplished I get the benefit of….

But what did Jesus really say while “sitting around the dinner table at the last supper?” Jesus said: Only those who “keep My commandments will “remain in My love,” and they’ll bear much fruit. Those who don’t will be thrown into the fire and burned.

Abiding in Christ requires obedience. We must overcome!

Jesus in John 15:

Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can’t bear fruit by itself, unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me. 5 I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If a man doesn’t remain in me, he is thrown out as a branch, and is withered; and they gather them, throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, you will ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you. 8 “In this is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit; and so you will be my disciples. 9 Even as the Father has loved me, I also have loved you. Remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and remain in his love. 11 I have spoken these things to you, that my joy may remain in you, and THAT YOUR JOY MAY BE MADE FULL. 12 “This is my commandment, that you love one another, even as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. 14 You are my friends, if you do whatever I command you.

Jesus really did say we must overcome in Revelation 2 and 3.

Revelation 3

1 “And to the angel of the assembly in Sardis write: He who has the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars says these things: “I know your works, that you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. 2 Wake up, and keep the things that remain, which you were about to throw away, for I have found no works of yours perfected beforeGod. 3 Remember therefore how you have received and heard. Keep it, and repent. If therefore you won’t watch, I will come as a thief, and you won’t know what hour I will come upon you. 4 Nevertheless you have a few names in Sardis that did not defile their garments. They will walk with me in white, for they are worthy. 5 He who OVERCOMES will be arrayed in white garments, and I will in no way blot his name out of the book of life, and I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

The R-Word: ‘Reconciliation’ is Required to Worship in Spirit and in Truth — Why is this key to revival a taboo subject?

I made this comment on Facebook, yesterday, to some former church leaders, but it seemed like nobody wanted to hear it. I don’t know if I ever will understand how a person can be called divisive while pushing for unity? But this isn’t the first time.

Why is reconciliation, the key to revival (see links below) a taboo subject?

I’m going to start calling it the ‘R-word.’

– –

This following real-history, video is what happens when people get right with each other, but WHEN IS THE LAST TIME ANYONE HAS HEARD a sermon that Christians need to get right with each other — reconciliation? It’s like it’s a taboo subject — because hardly any leaders, themselves are willing to get right with everyone. But reconciliation with each other is essential for ‘ONE’ to happen.

This can happen, and should happen in Anchorage. Reconciliation is the biggest key to revival, because there is still blood on the pews….

Asbury Revival, 1970: “‘Dr. Kinlaw, I am a liar. Now what do I do?’ … Three days later, she came to me radiant, and she said, ‘Dr. Kinlaw, I’m free!’”

I also said:

I also believe that many Christians need to not only confess their sins to God, but they also need to get right with those they’ve hurt, lied to — in order to be right with God. They can’t just say “heh, heh, heh, and slap the person on the back,” and then be actually right with that person and God. Only when we are right with each other can we worship in Spirit and in truth (Mt. 5:23-25).

[“If therefore you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has anything against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are with him in the way; lest perhaps the prosecutor deliver you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and you be cast into prison.]

And perhaps that is one of the reasons certain people here don’t even want to meet together and worship. Perhaps it’s better to ‘cold’ than to be ‘lukewarm,’ acting like everything is okay when it is not. But both are going to hell if they don’t repent.

It’s amazing at how many willfully sinful people raise their hands during worship services but are not right with even people in the same room.

And only then can healings regularly happen too. James 5:

“13 Is any among you suffering? Let him pray. Is any cheerful? Let him SING PRAISES. 14 Is any among you sick? Let him CALL FOR THE ELDERS OF THE ASSEMBLY, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, 15 and the prayer of faith WILL HEAL HIM who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. 16 CONFESS YOUR OFFENSES TO ONE ANOTHER, and PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective.

We can only worship in Spirit and in truth when our consciences don’t condemn us, saying we need to get right with someone, first.

Let us be free!

Pray for each other until ‘ONE’ happens — until God’s glory fills us with so much joy (John 15) that the world will know (John 17) !!!

A woman commented:

“Wow. I will pray for this fear mongering man [Steve Hill]. If his heart was to heal he would approach the whole topic without alienating the audience he is speaking to. Lol small minds.”

I responded:

The fear of the Lord is a good thing, and is totally biblical:

“So then, my beloved, even as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and *trembling*.” (Php. 2:12)

Most pastors falsely teach that this just means ‘reverence,’ but then how does ‘trembling’ fit in?

Jesus said:

“Fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”

This isn’t just ‘reverence.’

The fear of the Lord should compel us to walk on the narrow path that the New Testament lays out. The fear of the Lord is a good thing.

Paul, himself, ran his race to win, making sure he walked in purity, and he made sure he was right with everyone:

“Herein I also practice always having a conscience void of offense toward God and men.” (Rom. 24:16)

Only when we walk according to the Spirit are we biblically “in Christ” to where there is “no condemnation”:

“There is therefore now *no condemnation* to those who are *in Christ Jesus*, who don’t WALK according to the flesh, but ACCORDING TO THE SPIRIT.” (Rom. 8:1)

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God.” (v. 14)

She then rebuked me for quoting scripture.

The 7 Great Lies in the Church Today

STEVE HILL

False teachings running rampant within the American church have created a “whiteout” condition for  millions of believers. …

Editor’s Note: Most Charisma readers remember Steve Hill as the fiery evangelist from the Brownsville Revival who has since continued to win countless souls for Jesus around the world. But what many readers don’t realize is that Hill only recently came out of a three-year battle with melanoma. During that time, he received a prophetic vision warning the church of an impending “spiritual avalanche” that could kill millions. The following article on deception in the church is part of this timely message, now delivered in his latest book, Spiritual Avalanche. …

The Lord recently imparted to me a vision concerning the state of the church and what we must do about it. ..in this visitation from God, I saw layers upon layers of snow steadily covering the solid, traditional truth of Christ. As with a whiteout, the truth had been lost in the flurry. …

How Has This Happened?

Paul warned that the “time will come when [believers] will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables” (2 Tim. 4:3-4). …

1) Overemphasis of Prosperity

… Carnal prosperity preachers encourage God’s people to seek after riches—or to seek after God for the purpose of riches—often even judging your spirituality by the kind of car you drive. What does that have to do with the gospel of Jesus?

2) Exaggerated View of Grace

This hyper-grace teaching has become an epidemic (see “What’s Wrong With Grace?” on p. 28). It has slipped in almost unnoticed and taken root like an unwanted weed—easy to get in but hard to get out of the Christian. I have personally dealt with many young people who were once on fire but fell under this “kicked-back” view of God. Now, instead of pursuing Him, they are partying. …

Sadly, some hyper-grace preachers live in sin and ease their consciences by preaching about a God who is all love and who never condemns, a God who doesn’t judge us by our conduct. Like the false teachers Jude confronted, they “turn the grace of our God into lewdness” (Jude 4). The New International Version describes such lewdness as “a license for immorality.”

But not every hyper-grace preacher is looking for a way to justify sin. Some truly love Jesus but are simply preaching truth mixed with error. They’ve taken an undeniable, glorious truth about God and presented it in such an exaggerated form that they nullify all divine warnings and even claim that the words of Jesus don’t apply to New Covenant believers. If this seems judgmental, then it’s time to honestly line everyone’s teachings—including mine—alongside the Word. …

3) Antinomianism

Antinomianism—long word, simple meaning. The word literally means “against law.” It’s a short jump from an overemphasis on the grace message to complete antinomianism. In practice, it means that “anything goes,” since Jesus has set us free. The problem is, Jesus didn’t set us free to sin; He set us free from sin.

Jesus died for us and broke sin’s power on our lives so that now, by the Spirit, we can live out the righteous requirements of the law (Rom. 8:1-4). Yet purveyors of this poisonous teaching fail to realize that Jesus calls us beyond the requirements of the law in His teaching, stating, for example, that adultery refers to adultery of the heart and not just the physical act (Matt. 5:27-28). …

4) Deification of Man

Today’s gospel, especially in America, has a very different ring to it; rather than being all about God, it’s all about me. …

Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it” (Matt. 16:24-25).

We are in grave danger worldwide as millions upon millions gaze upon man rather than God. ..as we become so accustomed to worshipping man, it will be a simple maneuver for the Antichrist to move into position.

5) Challenging the Authority of the Word

The challenging of God’s authority goes back to the Garden of Eden, starting with the serpent’s challenge to Eve: “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” (Gen. 3:1). This satanic challenge was twofold: First, did God really say that? And second, God didn’t really mean what He said. After all, you won’t die if you eat from the tree (vv. 1-5).

That twofold challenge continues to assault us today. Best-selling authors tell us the biblical text isn’t reliable….

For the most part, though, the challenge to the authority of the Scriptures is subtler, and some of it flows out of the deification of man, which says, “The Bible must live up to my standards. I will judge the God of the Bible based on my morality rather than the God of the Bible judging me based on His morality.” In short, when the Scriptures contradict our feelings and preferences rather than crucify our feelings and preferences and bow down before God and His Word, we question God’s Word.

6) Rejecting Hell

..because we preach an imbalanced gospelemphasizing God’s love and ignoring His wrath, emphasizing His mercy and ignoring His justice—we no longer have room for hell….

Why did Jesus use such strong language in talking about the fire of hell and about people weeping and wailing and gnashing their teeth (see Matt. 8:12)? And why did He teach that “it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell” (Matt. 5:29)? And why do other New Testament writers warn us repeatedly about the wrath to come (see Eph. 5:1-6)? …

7) Universal Reconciliation

Universal reconciliation promotes a get-out-of-jail-free mentality—that in the end, everyone will make it into heaven….

Asbury Revival, 1970: “‘Dr. Kinlaw, I am a liar. Now what do I do?’ … Three days later, she came to me radiant, and she said, ‘Dr. Kinlaw, I’m free!’” Many need to get right with people they’ve hurt to be free! Then God can move!

The Welsh Revival of 1904-05 by J. Edwin Orr: A Countrywide Asbury-like REVIVAL! The 4 Points: #1 Confess any known sin, and put any wrong done to man right again. #2 Put away any doubtful habit. #3 Obey the Spirit promptly. #4 Confess your faith publicly.

Can ‘Christians’ use Paul’s “Forgetting the things which are behind…I press on” statement as an excuse to not get right with those they’ve hurt? Paul also said: “I also practice ALWAYS having a conscience void of offense toward God and men.” What if you don’t repent? And what will happen when you do? The Third Great Awakening can start with us!!! We can all be happy — ‘ONE’!

Do ‘Fundamentalists’ Teach What is Most Fundamental?

I wrote this on Facebook as a response to a friend’s posting of this article:

What distinguishes “evangelical” from “fundamentalist?” by Roger E. Olson

– –

It’s interesting to see Roger discuss the infighting that occurs among faculty in seminaries. Those who veer away too far from the declared or undeclared fundamentals first get removed from the “table fellowship,” and if they still persist they’ll receive the right foot of fellowship.

Thankfully, students are given more latitude, but those who raise their hands and question some of the teachings that are keeping the churches spiritually dead aren’t going to have an easy go.

The first time I attended seminary (I never did finish), we had a blast anyway. It was right at the height of the Vineyard holiness revival (1989-90). The old guard professors were so angry. They believed in cessationism, that the gifts of the Spirit ceased after the apostles died. John Wimber and the local Vineyard pastors in Chicago were rocking their boat, big-time! Almost all of the students were talking about it, and we were on fire. The professors wouldn’t even look at us as we passed each other on the sidewalk. How were they going to put out this fire, as they couldn’t prove their case biblically?

TEDS (Trinity Evangelical Divinity School) taught the trinity, but they only had classes on God the Father and Jesus. Some of the students pushed for a class on the Holy Spirit, Who was almost totally ignored — which leads me to my point.

I agree with most of the fundamentals in fundamentalism, but what is really fundamental among the Bible teachers who wrote the Bible? Fundamentalism is missing the key point upon which everything else hinges: the greatest commandment.

Jesus replaced the 10 commandments of the law with the greatest two commandments, of which “loving the Lord our God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength” is the greatest. Where is that in the fundamentalists’ or even the evangelicals’ lists?

I didn’t have one professor who taught that we must abide in Christ, getting sap from the Vine so we’ll automatically produce fruit — and so our joy will be full — Jesus said. And he warned that if we don’t abide in Christ we’ll be thrown into the fire and burned.

Professor Robert Shank called this “life in the son,” which he discussed in his book of the same title. But I don’t know of any seminary professor who currently teaches the necessity of abiding in Christ:

“Those who are led by the Spirit are the sons of God.”

“My sheep know my voice, and I know them, and they follow me….”

“Now, little children, remain in him, that when he appears, we may have boldness, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.”

“We know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him. In this, love has been made perfect among us, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment, because as he is, even so are we in this world.”

There are many more scriptures, but “life in the Son” is what Christianity is. “Salvation through faith alone” is only true if ‘faith’ means having faith to stand before Jesus with a clear conscience on judgment day because our consciences are clear because we lived in the Son on earth.

Being born-again is just the start of our life in the Son.

“Those who are Christ’s have crucified their flesh.”

“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. … For if you live after the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God.”

It’s interesting to see how seminaries and most ‘churches’ are currently missing what’s fundamentally most important.

So it’s no surprise that seminaries and ‘churches’ are currently dead — neglecting the greatest commandment, while claiming to be theologically sound.

‘ONE’ can only happen when we’re all living in the Son — so our joy will be full, now (John 15), and the world will know (John 17)!!!

What are we waiting for?

A Call to Intimacy: The Holy Spirit in John’s Gospel & Epistles — A paper I wrote for D. A. Carson’s Johannine Theology class at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, 1993

What is Liberal ‘Christian’ Theology? — “Love” of our fellow man becomes the defining issue. Jesus’ Greatest Commandment of loving God with ALL OF OUR HEART… / ‘Life in the Son’ is IGNORED, where our yoke is easy and our burden is light, where we’ll find rest for our souls, UNITED IN CHRIST • Liberal Christianity creates a FALSE GOD according to its own liking rather than worshiping God as He is described in the whole of the Bible

[Updated June 2016]

I’ve been running into this on Facebook — with guys who should know better — who previously experienced the good things of God — including having felt His presence.

I’ve seen especially one particular proponent strongly manipulate the discussion, keeping truth out by refusing to look at the facts (including my research here at ONEcanhappen) — making the ‘conversation’ the focus. The idea is to keep us in the conversation, instead of finding the truth that can set us free — ‘life in the Son.’

They claim they can now achieve a higher understanding by merely talking with each other about what is true, refusing not only to investigate the data, but also refusing to seek and worship God, the Holy Spirit, Whom Jesus said would lead us into *all* truth.

The Greatest Commandment (loving God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength) is discarded. The Second Greatest Commandment (loving our neighbors as ourselves) then becomes the only commandment, but it’s impossible to carry out without also obeying the Greatest. Christianity then becomes man centered only, instead of God centered, so it’s not really Christianity.

Jesus did the things he saw his Father doing. He was submitted to and led by the Holy Spirit just as we are to be. “Those who are led by the Spirit are the children of God.” We must “take up our cross and follow Him.” “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.”

“My yoke is easy and my burden is light,” but liberal Christianity is a sweaty ministry because we’re designed to abide in The Vine from which His sap then automatically flows through us, producing fruit (John 15) — which is “life in the Son.”

“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Mt. 11:28-30)

We can’t do Christianity apart from God, and the Holy Spirit won’t lead us to do things that contradict the written word of God — like saying we “shouldn’t meet together” so ‘ONE’ can happen according to Ephesians 4:11-16, John 17, and etc. — which they continually push against.

And then I’ve seen those who have carefully done the research to discover the absolute truth are labeled as ‘arrogant’ — a debate technique used to demonize those of us who still dare to say there is absolute truth — and to shame others into also rejecting what the Bible clearly says and what the Holy Spirit has clearly shown people.

“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you” is a promise, as is: “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” God won’t help people see who don’t want to see, but He’s eager to help those who do. Pride in liberal ‘Christians’ makes them actively resist life in the Son — real Christianity, where Jesus’ greatest commandment is practiced first and foremost.

I’m not sure why formerly Spirit-filled (at times) Christians are adopting and pushing this anti-Ephesians-4:11-16, disunifying lie as the better way. Liberal ‘Christian’ theology is a form of active rebellion, which the Bible says is as the sin of witchcraft. No doubt this is a doctrine of demons that opposes the will of God — that we would be ‘ONE’ with each other in Him, that the world would know!

In John 17, Jesus also said He’d give us His glory so ‘ONE’ can happen. The Devil is trying to stop this with every trick he has.

May we stand up for what’s right no matter what, so ‘ONE’ can happen — so we can be FREE in Him — “that the world will know!”

Abide in Christ, getting our life source from Him that fruit will remain:

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” – John 10:27

“There is therefore now *no condemnation* to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. … For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God.” – Romans 8:1, 14

“Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.'” – Mt. 16:24

Remain in Him.

What is liberal Christian theology?

Question: “What is liberal Christian theology?”

Answer: In liberal Christian teaching, which is not Christian at all, man’s reason is stressed and is treated as the final authority. Liberal theologians seek to reconcile Christianity with secular science and modern thinking. In doing so, they treat science as all-knowing and the Bible as fable-laden and false. Genesis’ early chapters are reduced to poetry or fantasy, having a message, but not to be taken literally (in spite of Jesus’ having spoken of those early chapters in literal terms). Mankind is not seen as totally depraved, and thus liberal theologians have an optimistic view of the future of mankind. The social gospel is also emphasized, while the inability of fallen man to fulfill it is denied. Whether a person is saved from his sin and its penalty in hell is no longer the issue; the main thing is how man treats his fellow man. “Love” of our fellow man becomes the defining issue. As a result of this “reasoning” by liberal theologians, the following doctrines are taught by liberal quasi-Christian theologians:

1) The Bible is not “God-breathed” and has errors. Because of this belief, man (the liberal theologians) must determine which teachings are correct and which are not. Belief that the Bible is “inspired” (in that word’s original meaning) by God is only held by simpletons. This directly contradicts 2 Timothy 3:16-17: “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

[…]

5) Hell is not real. Man is not lost in sin and is not doomed to some future judgment without a relationship with Christ through faith. Man can help himself; no sacrificial death by Christ is necessary since a loving God would not send people to such a place as hell and since man is not born in sin. This contradicts Jesus Himself, who declared Himself to be the Way to God, through His atoning death (John 14:6).

[…]

7) The most important thing for man to do is to “love” his neighbor [while the Greatest Commandment, “You shall love the Lord, your God, with all of your heart, soul, mind and strength” isn’t even mentioned – editor]. What is the loving thing to do in any situation is not what the Bible says is good but what the liberal theologians decide is good.

[…]

Scripture speaks against those who would cry “peace, peace” when there is no peace (Jeremiah 6:14)—which liberal theologians do by saying that man can attain peace with God apart from Christ’s sacrifice on the cross and that man need not worry about a future judgment before God. The Word of God speaks of a time when men will have a form of godliness, but deny the power thereof (2 Timothy 3:5)—which is what liberal theology does in that is says that there is some inner goodness in man that does not require a rebirth by the Holy Spirit through faith in Christ. And it speaks against those who would serve idols instead of the one true God (1 Chronicles 16:26)—which liberal Christianity does in that it creates a false god according to its own liking rather than worshiping God as He is described in the whole of the Bible.

Part 2: Clarifying My Perspective on Divorce and ‘Marriage’: The Role of the Holy Spirit

Recently, I heard these words just as I was awakening: “tell them about ____ ____.” I’ll call him ‘Pastor E.;’ though, this is not one of his initials.

About 20 years ago, after most of the chairs were vacated in a revival meeting, I just happened to be seated behind a previously famous evangelical leader whom I knew personally. He was bent over in his chair and sobbing. The evangelist who was leading the meetings came over to him and asked him what was wrong. Pastor E. said, ~”I’m a pastor and I’m all washed up. My wife and I divorced. We had an Old Testament scripture. And then I remarried, and now I’m all washed up.”

The evangelist said: ~”you’re not washed up.” But he had just preached in this meeting how Kathryn Kuhlman temporarily lost her anointing and her ministry after she married a man who was unbiblically divorced. She annulled the marriage, and after a time her ministry was restored.

This is a summary of her story, from godsgenerals.com/person_k_kuhlman.htm:

She [Kathryn Kuhlman] founded the Denver Revival Tabernacle in 1935. That same year, Kathryn met Burroughs Waltrip, an extremely handsome Texas evangelist who was eight years her senior. Despite the fact that he was married with two small boys, they soon found themselves attracted to each other. Shortly after his visit to Denver, Waltrip divorced his wife, left his family….

Burroughs and Kathryn decided to wed. While discussing the matter with some friends, Kathryn had said that she could not “find the will of God in the matter.” These and other friends encouraged her not to go through with the marriage, but Kathryn justified it to herself and others by believing that Waltrip’s wife had left him, not the other way around. On October 18th, 1938, Kathryn secretly married “Mister,” as she liked to call Waltrip, in Mason City. The wedding did not give her new peace about their union, however. After they checked into their hotel that night, Kathryn left and drove over to the hotel where Helen was staying with another friend. She sat with them weeping and admitted that the marriage was a mistake. She decided to get an annulment. …

In a moment’s time, the ministry that Kathryn had so diligently built was completely undone. People stopped attending her services. Her ministry was dissolved. Kathryn sold her portion of the Tabernacle. She’d lost everything. Her relationship with the Lord had suffered because she had put a man before her God. But from the moment she made the decision to divorce Waltrip and to surrender herself fully to the Lord, she never wavered again in answering the call that God had placed on her life so many years before. …

As Kathryn searched the Scriptures about divine healing, she made a life-changing discovery. She read that healing was provided for the believer at the same time as salvation…. The crowds at the Tabernacle grew. Auditoriums would fill to capacity hours before she was to speak, and thousands were turned away. Countless miracles took place….

Unlike Kathryn, ‘Pastor E.’ decided to not get right with God by taking the huge step of annulling his unbiblical marriage (which is why he was crying. Like Kathryn, he knew…), and he’s had a spiritually dead ministry ever since. But this man once was greatly anointed.

He was nationally known because of his successful ministry to a particular group of men who are famous in American culture. His Holy Spirit anointed gifting was so contagious that many people were drawn to him. A friend of mine and I once drove to another town just to hear him speak one more time. I was so impressed, and wanted to know more about him!

But then he divorced his wife (who stayed single for a long time, by the way). He left the ministry position that he was famous for, and with his new wife, he started a ‘church’ that many unbiblically married couples gravitated to. With his natural talent, he was able to keep the doors of the ‘church’ open; though, because he lost his spiritual anointing, this ‘church’ never had a reputation for being spiritually alive. And he’s doing something else now.

So what does this mean? People who are unbiblically married (or who didn’t really have a word from God that their additional exception to Jesus’ one exception was legitimate) are living in adultery, no matter what people say.

Not only can adulterers not go to heaven, but they will also lose the anointing they once had — unless they annul their man-only ordained marriages.

People may say this is a hard message, but that’s because so much of what ‘Christians’ do today isn’t really Holy-Spirit-led. People are making major decisions without making sure that it’s God — even directly disobeying scripture — because “how can it be wrong when it feels this right?”

But it never did really feel right, deep down. And just because ‘everyone’ is doing it doesn’t make it okay. “In the last days, the deception will be great!” We must live in Jesus’ narrow way that leads to eternal life — and is a Spirit-filled life here too. Our consciences must be clean.

We need to all be right with each other and God to not just be real, going-to-heaven Christians — but also so ‘ONE’ can happen. Jesus promised He’d give us His glory so we would be ‘ONE’ with each other and Himself — that the world would know! (John 17)

“Without holiness, no one will see the Lord.”

Let’s be free from deceptive, evil spirit originated thinking — and live as ‘ONE’ — pure and holy with God’s glory flowing through us — bright lights, beaming!!!

Matthew 10

Being a real, going-to-heaven Christian is a radical commitment. We need to get in the saddle. Jesus said:

32 Everyone therefore who confesses me before men, him I will also confess before my Father who is in heaven. 33 But whoever denies me before men, him I will also deny before my Father who is in heaven.

34 “Don’t think that I came to send peace on the earth. I didn’t come to send peace, but a sword. 35 For I came to set a man at odds against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. 36 A man’s foes will be those of his own household.

37 He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he who loves son or daughter more than me isn’t worthy of me. 38 He who doesn’t take his cross and follow after me, isn’t worthy of me. 39 He who seeks his life will lose it; and he who loses his life for my sake will find it.

Matthew 16

Here,  is the “deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me” trio. Jesus then adds: “he will render to everyone according to his deeds.”

24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, and whoever will lose his life for my sake will find it. 26 For what will it profit a man, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his life? Or what will a man give in exchange for his life? 27 For the Son of Man will come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and then he will render to everyone according to his deeds.

Mark 8

This text adds “whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words….”

34 He called the multitude to himself with his disciples, and said to them, “Whoever wants to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 35 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it; and whoever will lose his life for my sake and the sake of the Good News will save it. 36 For what does it profit a man, to gain the whole world, and forfeit his life? 37 For what will a man give in exchange for his life? 38 For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man also will be ashamed of him, when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”

Luke 9

Similar to the above text.

23 He said to all, “If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me. 24 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake, the same will save it. 25 For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits his own self? 26 For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed, when he comes in his glory, and the glory of the Father, and of the holy angels.

Luke 14

Very heavy! We’re supposed to “count the cost,” which is not letting anyone or anything stand in the way of us following Christ. “Whoever of you who doesn’t renounce all that he has, he can’t be my disciple.”

And the “salt becoming flat and tasteless” idea is similar to what Jesus says in John 15: how we must abide in Him in order to bear much fruit that will then remain — because as branches, we keep ourselves attached to the Vine, getting our sap from Him — that our joy will be full (15:11)! Real Christians are full of Life — which when meeting together then will make living, vibrant churches!

25 Now great multitudes were going with him. He turned and said to them, 26 “If anyone comes to me, and doesn’t disregard his own father, mother, wife, children, brothers, and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he can’t be my disciple. 27 Whoever doesn’t bear his own cross, and come after me, can’t be my disciple. 28 For which of you, desiring to build a tower, doesn’t first sit down and count the cost, to see if he has enough to complete it? 29 Or perhaps, when he has laid a foundation, and is not able to finish, everyone who sees begins to mock him, 30 saying, ‘This man began to build, and wasn’t able to finish.’ 31 Or what king, as he goes to encounter another king in war, will not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? 32 Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends an envoy, and asks for conditions of peace. 33 So therefore whoever of you who doesn’t renounce all that he has, he can’t be my disciple.

34 Salt is good, but if the salt becomes flat and tasteless, with what do you season it? 35 It is fit neither for the soil nor for the manure pile. It is thrown out. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”

Different Levels of Punishment in Hell: Hell HEAVY to Hell LIGHT — “That servant who knew his lord’s will and didn’t prepare, nor did what he wanted, will be beaten with many stripes, but he who didn’t know, and did things worthy of stripes, will be beaten with few stripes,” and even lighter than that?

Directly Related: [book – audio – video] Mary K. Baxter: A Divine Revelation of Hell — “There is greater punishment for those who once preached the gospel and went back into sin, or for those who would not obey the call of God for their lives”

Jesus in Luke 12:47 That servant, who knew his lord’s will, and didn’t prepare, nor do what he wanted, will be beaten with many stripes, 48 but he who didn’t know, and did things worthy of stripes, will be beaten with few stripes.

It seems that many born-again Christians today are questioning God’s justice in His decision to send people to hell. Some are getting bitter at God, so they’re practically shunning the greatest commandment, no longer wanting to worship God or actively trying to hear and obey — to be His legitimate sheep. Many have allowed themselves to be defiled by a root of bitterness, because they think that God isn’t fair. Bob Mumford called this being scandalized.

NEW TESTAMENT TEXTS

 Matthew 10:28

28And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Matthew 18:8-9

8“If your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life lame or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet, to be cast into the everlasting fire9And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire.

Matthew 25:41

41“Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:

Matthew 25:46

46And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

Mark 3:29

29but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation

Mark 9:43-48

43If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched

44Where “their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.”

45And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame, rather than having two feet, to be cast into hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched

46Where “their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.”

47And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire

48Where “their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.”

Luke 3:17

17His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather the wheat into His barn; but the chaff He will burn with unquenchable fire.”

2 Thessalonians 1:

5 This is an obvious sign of the righteous judgment of God, to the end that you may be counted worthy of the Kingdom of God, for which you also suffer. 6 Since it is a righteous thing with God to repay affliction to those who afflict you, 7 and to give relief to you who are afflicted with us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire, 8 giving vengeance to those who don’t know God, and to those who don’t obey the Good News of our Lord Jesus, 9 who will pay the penalty: eternal destruction from the face of the Lord and from the glory of his might, 10 when he comes to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired among all those who have believed (because our testimony to you was believed) in that day.

Hebrews 6:

1 Therefore leaving the teaching of the first principles of Christ, let us press on to perfection—not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works, of faith toward God, 2 of the teaching of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

2 Peter 2:

1 But false prophets also arose among the people, as false teachers will also be among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, denying even the Master who bought them, bringing on themselves swift destruction. 2 Many will follow their immoral ways, and as a result, the way of the truth will be maligned. …

10 but chiefly those who walk after the flesh in the lust of defilement, and despise authority. Daring, self-willed, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignitaries; 11 whereas angels, though greater in might and power, don’t bring a railing judgment against them before the Lord. 12 But these, as unreasoning creatures, born natural animals to be taken and destroyed, speaking evil in matters about which they are ignorant, will in their destroying surely be destroyed, 13 receiving the wages of unrighteousness; people who count it pleasure to revel in the daytime, spots and blemishes, reveling in their deceit while they feast with you; 14 having eyes full of adultery, and who can’t cease from sin; enticing unsettled souls; having a heart trained in greed; children of cursing; 15 forsaking the right way, they went astray, having followed the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of wrongdoing; 16 but he was rebuked for his own disobedience. A mute donkey spoke with a man’s voice and stopped the madness of the prophet.

17 These are wells without water, clouds driven by a storm; for whom the blackness of darkness has been reserved forever. 18 For, uttering great swelling words of emptiness, they entice in the lusts of the flesh, by licentiousness, those who are indeed escaping from those who live in error; 19 promising them liberty, while they themselves are bondservants of corruption; for a man is brought into bondage by whoever overcomes him. 20 For if, after they have escaped the defilement of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in it and overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first. 21 For it would be better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after knowing it, to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them. 22 But it has happened to them according to the true proverb, “The dog turns to his own vomit again,” and “the sow that has washed to wallowing in the mire.”

Jude:

7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them, having, in the same way as these, given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the punishment of eternal fire.

Revelation 14:

9 Another angel, a third, followed them, saying with a great voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives a mark on his forehead, or on his hand, 10 he also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is prepared unmixed in the cup of his anger. He will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 The smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever. They have no rest day and night, those who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name. 12 Here is the patience of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.”

Singing Worship Songs Together to God is Absolutely Biblical: New Testament Scriptures Calling Us To Worship!!!

It’s been very frustrating for me to see the anti-Ephesians-4:11-16 Christians outright speaking against and abandoning the practice of worshiping God together in song; though, it’s not just a practice that we know from experience brings us closer to God and He closer to us, but worshiping together in song is absolutely biblical, according to the New Testament too — not just the Old.

Here are some scriptures just from the New Testament. Of course, the Psalms are loaded with worship-to-God songs!

Jesus prayed that we would be ONE with each other in Him, “that the world will know!” (John 17)

Let’s worship!!!

Jeff : )

– –

This is actually the scripture that convinced me that Christianity was real, when I read the Bible on my own in high school. Paul and Silas sang songs to God in prison at midnight, after having been beaten.

Acts 16:25:

“But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.”

Paul encouraged the Christians in Rome to glorify God with one accord and with one mouth, that the God of hope would fill them with all joy and peaceabounding in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 15:

5 Now the God of patience and of encouragement grant you to be of the SAME MIND ONE with another according to Christ Jesus, 6that with ONE ACCORD you may with ONE MOUTH glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

7 Therefore accept one another, even as Christ also accepted you, to the glory of God.

8 Now I say that Christ has been made a servant of the circumcision for the truth of God, that he might confirm the promises given to the fathers,

9 and that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. As it is written, “Therefore will I give praise to you among the Gentiles, and sing to your name.”

10 Again he says, “Rejoice, you Gentiles, with his people.”

11 Again, “Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles! Let all the peoples praise him.”

12 Again, Isaiah says, “There will be the root of Jesse, he who arises to rule over the Gentiles; in him the Gentiles will hope.”

13 Now may the God of hope fill you with ALL JOY and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Paul told the Corinthians that he personally sung in the Spirit (tongues) as well as in understanding (Greek), but in the assembly, where unfamiliar visitors could watch, they needed to cool it, and just sing and speak in Greek, to not freak the visitors out.

1 Corinthians 14:

1 Follow after love, and earnestly desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. 2 For he who speaks in another language speaks not to men, but to God; for no one understands; but in the Spirit he speaks mysteries. 3 But he who prophesies speaks to men for their edification, exhortation, and consolation. 4 He who speaks in another language edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the assembly. 5 Now I desire to have you all speak with other languages, but rather that you would prophesy. For he is greater who prophesies than he who speaks with other languages, unless he interprets, that the assembly may be built up. …

13 Therefore let him who speaks in another language pray that he may interpret. 14 For if I pray in another language, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. 15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also. I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. 16 Otherwise if you bless with the spirit, how will he who fills the place of the unlearned say the “Amen” at your giving of thanks, seeing he doesn’t know what you say? 17 For you most certainly give thanks well, but the other person is not built up. 18 I thank my God, I speak with other languages more than you all. 19 However in the assembly I would rather speak five words with my understanding, that I might instruct others also, than ten thousand words in another language. …

23 If therefore the whole assembly is assembled together and all speak with other languages, and unlearned or unbelieving people come in, won’t they say that you are crazy? 24 But if all prophesy, and someone unbelieving or unlearned comes in, he is reproved by all, and he is judged by all. 25 And thus the secrets of his heart are revealed. So he will fall down on his face and worship God, declaring that God is among you indeed.

God wants us to be filled with the Holy Spirit, singing spiritual songs to the Lord!

Ephesians 5:

15 Therefore watch carefully how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise; 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore don’t be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs; singing, and making melody in your heart to the Lord; 20 giving thanks always concerning all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to God, even the Father; 21 subjecting yourselves one to another in the fear of Christ.

Colossians 3:

12 Put on therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. 14 Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in ONE body; and be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to the Lord. 17 Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father, through him.

The writer to Hebrews, who wrote in 10:25 to not forsake the assembling of ourselves together had a profound understanding of worship. John Dickson and Chuck Pierce write in their book, Worship As It Is In Heaven describe this amazing Hebrews 2 text: “When we are together as a a congregation, Jesus…, in our midst He sings His praises to the Father. His testimony, that spirit of prophecy, that mantle, comes down on us in worship….” (source)

Hebrews 2:

10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many children to glory, to make the author of their salvation perfect through sufferings. 11 For both he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one, for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brothers,

12 saying, “I will declare your name to my brothers. In the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise.”

13 Again, “I will put my trust in him.” Again, “Behold, here I am with the children whom God has given me.”

Hebrews 13:5

Through him, then, let us offer up a sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of lips which proclaim allegiance to his name.

James 5

13 Is any among you suffering? Let him pray. Is any cheerful? Let him sing praises. 14 Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him

Jesus and the disciples sang hymns [this is prior to the new covenant being implemented at Jesus death and then Pentecost; though, Jesus was in the new covenant, being led by the Holy Spirit, himself:

When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.” – Mt. 26:30 & Mk. 14:26

Mary K. Baxter’s Divine Revelation of Hell: We Must Be Right With God — “Lord,” I said, “You mean your servants are here?” “Yes,” said Jesus, “Servants that would not stand for the truth and for holiness. It is better that one never starts than to turn back after beginning to serve Me.”

Chapter 11

Outer Darkness

[…]

As we walked on through hell, Jesus and I came upon a very large and very dark man. He was enshrouded in darkness and had the appearance of an angel. He was holding something in his left hand. Jesus said, “This place is called outer darkness.”

I heard weeping and gnashing of teeth. Nowhere before had there been such utter hopelessness as I felt in this place. The angel that stood before us had no wings. He looked to be about thirty feet tall, and he knew exactly what he was doing. He had a large disk in his left hand and was turning slowly with this disk lifted up high as though he was getting ready to throw it.

There was a fire in the middle of the disk, and blackness on the outer edge. The angel held his hand beneath the disk and reached far back in order to get more leverage.

I wondered who this giant angel was and what he was about to do.

Jesus knew my thoughts and said again, “This is outer darkness. Remember that my Word says, ‘The children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

“Lord,” I said, “You mean your servants are here?”

“Yes,” said Jesus, “servants that turned back after I called them. Servants who loved the world more than Me and went back to wallowing in the mire of sin. Servants that would not stand for the truth and for holiness. It is better that one never starts than to turn back after beginning to serve Me.”

“Believe Me,” Jesus said, “if you sin, you have an advocate with the Father. If you repent of your sins, I will be faithful to cleanse you of all unrighteousness. But if you will not repent, I will come in a time you think not, and you will be cut off with the unbelievers and cast into outer darkness.”

I watched the dark angel as he cast the large disk far, far out into the darkness. “My Word means just what it says; they ‘shall be cast into outer darkness. …

I watched in ghastly fascination, wondering if I knew any of the fallen servants of the Lord who were marching past. I could not turn my head away from the sight of souls marching into the fire, and no one was trying to stop them. I cried, “Lord, please stop them before they reach the fire!”

But Jesus said, “He who has ears should hear. He who has eyes should see. My child, cry out against sin and evil. Tell my servants to be faithful and to call upon the name of the Lord. I am taking you through this awful place so that you can tell them about hell.”

Jesus continued, “Some will not believe you. Some will say God is too good to send men and women to hell. But tell them My Word is true. Tell them that the fearful and unbelieving will have their part in the lake of fire.” [Rev. 21:8 – editor]

I include two excerpts here. The first shows what happens to those in the fire pits. Jesus talked about the worm that never dies and the fire that is never quenched. This is it.

The second excerpt is a former preacher who once preached the gospel with purity….

There are other flame-off areas of hell mentioned in the book. Hell is actually quite diverse. People are judged according to the level and their awareness of their sins.

Chapter 2

The Left Leg of Hell

[…]

Jesus and I stepped from the tunnel onto a path with wide swaths of land on each side of it. There were pits of fire everywhere as far as the eye could see. The pits were four feet across and three feet deep and shaped like a bowl. Jesus said, “There are many pits like this in the left leg of hell. Come, I will show you some of them.” …

I heard a cry from the center of the first pit. I saw a soul in the form of a skeleton, crying, “Jesus, have mercy!”

“O, Lord!” I said. It was the voice of a woman. I looked at her and wanted to pull her out of the fire. The sight of her broke my heart.

The skeleton form of a woman with a dirty-grey mist inside was talking to Jesus. In shock, I listened to her. Decayed flesh hung by shreds from her bones, and, as it burned, it fell off into the bottom of the pit. Where her eyes had once been were now only empty sockets. She had no hair.

The fire started at her feet in small flames and grew as it climbed up and over her body. The woman seemed to be constantly burning, even when the flames were only embers. From deep down inside her came cries and groans of despair, “Lord, Lord, I want out of here!”

She kept reaching out to Jesus. I looked at Jesus, and there was great sorrow on His face. Jesus said to me, “My child, you are here with Me to let the world know that sin results in death, that hell is real.

I looked at the woman again, and worms were crawling out of the bones of her skeleton. They were not harmed by the fire. Jesus said, “She knows and feels those worms inside.”

“God, have mercy!” I cried as the fire reached its peak and the horrible burning started all over again. Great cries and deep sobs shook the form of this woman-soul. She was lost. There was no way out. “Jesus, why is she here?” I said in a small voice, for I was very scared.

Jesus said, “Come.”

The path we were on was a circuitous one, twisting in and out between these pits of fire as far as I could see. The cries of the living dead, mixed with moans and hideous screams, came to my ears from all directions. There were no quiet times in hell. The smell of dead and decaying flesh hung thickly in the air.

Chapter 6

Activity in Hell

[…]

“Listen to Me,” said Jesus. “What you are about to see and hear is true. Take heed you ministers of the gospel, for these are faithful and true sayings. Awake, evangelists, preachers, and teachers of My Word, all of you who are called to preach the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. If you are sinning, repent or you will likewise perish.” …

Jesus knew my thoughts, for He said, “Child, there are many souls in torment here, and there are many different types of torment for these souls. There is greater punishment for those who once preached the gospel and went back into sin, or for those who would not obey the call of God for their lives. “

I heard a cry so desperate that it filled my heart with despair. “No hope, no hope!” he called. The hopeless cry came from the coffin. It was an endless wail of regret. …

A dirty-gray mist filled the inside of the coffin. It was the soul of a man. As I watched, the demons pushed their spears into the soul of the man in the coffin. …

As Jesus spoke, the man saw us. He said, “Lord, Lord, let me out. Have mercy.” I looked down and saw a bloody mess. Before my eyes was a soul. Inside the soul was a human heart, and blood spurted from it. The thrusting of the spears were literally piercing his heart.

“I will serve You now, Lord.” He begged, “Please let me out.” I knew that this man felt every spear that pierced his heart.

“Day and night, he is tormented,” the Lord said. “He was put here by Satan, and it is Satan who torments him.”

The man cried, “Lord, I will now preach the true gospel. I will tell about sin and hell. But please help me out of here.”

Jesus said, This man was a preacher of the Word of God. There was a time when he served Me with all his heart and led many people to salvation. Some of his converts are still serving Me today, many years later. The lust of the flesh and the deceitfulness of riches led him astray. He let Satan gain the rule over him. He had a big church, a fine car, a large income. He began to steal from the church offerings. He began to teach lies. He spoke mostly half-lies and half-truths. He would not let Me correct him. I sent My messengers to him to tell him to repent and preach the truth, but he loved the pleasures of this life more than the life of God. He knew not to teach or preach any other doctrine except the truth as revealed in the Bible. But before he died, he said the Holy Ghost baptism was a lie and that those who claimed to have the Holy Ghost were hypocrites. He said you could be a drunkard and get to heaven, even without repentance.

“He said God would not send anyone to hell -that God was too good to do that. He caused many good people to fall from the grace of the Lord. He even said that he did not need Me, for he was like a god. He went so far as to hold seminars to teach this false doctrine. He trampled My Holy Word under his feet. Yet, I continued to love him.

“My child, it is better to have never known Me than to know Me and turn back from serving Me,” said the Lord.

“If only he had listened to You, Lord!” I cried. “If only he had cared about his soul and the souls of others. “

“He did not listen to Me. When I called he would not hear Me. He loved the easy life. I called and called him to repentance, but he would not come back to Me. One day he was killed and came immediately here. Now Satan torments him for having once preached My Word and saved souls for My kingdom. This is his torment.”

I watched the demons as they continued to march around and around the coffin. The man’s heart beat and real blood ran from it. I will never forget his cries of pain and sorrow.

Jesus looked at the man in the coffin with great compassion and said, “The blood of many lost souls are upon this man’s hands. Many of them are in torment here right now.” With sorrowful hearts, Jesus and I walked on.

[EXCELLENT video] Francis Chan and Preston Sprinkle: Erasing Hell — “He gets to define what love is, and not us.” “That means my sin is way worse than I could ever even imagine.” | ~”I think this whole concept of ‘how could God do this’ is woven into the fabric of our culture that says ‘how dare my dad tell me what I can and cannot do!’ We’ve lost the idea of authority, and it’s killing our culture.”

[Q&A] Francis Chan on Rob Bell and Hell: Why ‘ERASING HELL’ was Francis’ most difficult book and how it prompted him to repent for softening Jesus’ warnings — “WE IN AMERICA READ CERTAIN PASSAGES OVER AND OVER TO THE NEGLECT OF OTHERS, we start to believe that Jesus had a friendly tone all the time. … We have tried to block Hell out of our minds. Yet because it’s written about so often in Scripture, I think God does want it on the forefront.”

WHY HELL is INTEGRAL to THE GOSPEL — God declares himself to be compassionate and loving, but he also says, “Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished.” The Psalms declare that “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.” — Why is it that when people think about hell they conclude God must be at fault and not themselves?

[10-minute video] Francis Chan: Erasing Hell — “Do you ever even consider the possibility that maybe the Creator’s sense of justice is actually more developed than yours? And that maybe His love and His mercy are perfect, and that you could be the one that is flawed. … We can’t afford to be wrong on this issue.”
